Business short-changed consumer. Customer (me) purchased 8 trees but got only 5 delivered. When contacted, business dismissed consumer's concern, portrayed it as simply an "inconvenience", where it was clearly a gross negligence and failure to provide goods and services on their part (ripping me off).

Fraud, misrepresentation, denial of fault, failure to provide goods as described

Hello - it is not an "inconvenience". The accurate description is: I did not get what I paid for. I paid for 8 trees - I got only 5. That is 3 trees short. Please rectify this.

      Hello-
So sorry for the confusion, but as stated on the website we do only ship bare root, dormant plants and trees. They are not dried up sticks. We advise planting them ASAP. Also, please make sure it isn't two paw paw trees bundled together, as they are shipped like that a lot if the time.
      Sorry for any inconvenience.

Hi, I did not get the number of trees as shown in the below order.

I ordered 2 pawpaw but only got 1. And the trees are dried up, tiny skinny sticks that broke during shipment - they are all smaller than my finger, even though I already ordered the biggest size possible.

Please give me info on how to return this order. Thank you!

      Best,

On 2/6/22, I purchased 75 bare-root plants from Tennessee Wholesale Nursery (TWN) for $456.80 (order #*****). After getting no updates about the shipment, I contacted TWN and was simply told they were "working on it." On 3/18/22, the shipment arrived. I planted as instructed. Shortly thereafter, most of the plants turned brown and died. I emailed TWN about their 1-year warranty. I provided pictures and did tests upon request. An unnamed representative told me to wait for the plants to improve (though I knew they were dead) and affirmed I had a 1-year warranty. I replied that the plants were dead and requested a refund, replacements, or store credit. TWN then changed their warranty to a 24-hour "arrive alive" guarantee. They claimed the 1-year warranty I saw clearly posted on their wholesale site (tennesseewholesalenursery dot com) did not apply. I disputed the charge with my credit card company but have not gotten satisfactory resolution. In the dispute on file, TWN again changed the warranty to claim I had 90 days to report problems (which I had done anyway, but it went ignored). That was the third warranty change. TWN refused to fix their error in shipping me unhealthy plants. I only bought plants because of TWN's express 1-year warranty and their "quality guaranteed" promise plants would "thrive." Upon research, I found numerous online complaints and TWN's rating of F with the BBB. The negative reviews and the BBB agree that TWN is a fraudulent outfit that sells dead or sick plants. Currently, I'm being forced to pay for plants I never got to enjoy (or even have replaced). An ethical business with integrity would not do this. I should not be out my money because TWN refuses to honor their original 1-year warranty. TWN's guarantee is less than worthless and only indemnifies them from their dishonest actions. TWN should be investigated and compelled to abide by fair trade practices. I doubt I'll recoup my money, but I hope to help protect others from TWN. Buyer beware!

The lilypads I received did not bloom. They also advertised a free fern on that day if you soent more than 19.99. I spent double that and did not receive the fern. When i Inquired about this, their response was what did you base the free fern on. I sent them a picture of their advertisement, and they did not reapond x 2 attempts.

I purchased 2 crepe myrtle trees on a B1G1 free. On receiving the tree, yes only 1 tree after the company verified I would receive 2, this was a branch with minimum trunk and a few roots. I did a scratch test and it was clear the tree was dead. I complained to the company, they said they would send out a new tree for the one I was missing, but nothing for the dead one. I told them I didn't want a replacement, but they ignored me and sending one anyway. I wanted a refund. I have since filed a complaint ith my credit card company.

On October 17th, 2022, I placed an order online with this company for one Legacy Sugar Maple tree 3-4' tall and paid for 3-day shipping. When the expected delivery date passed, I inquired by phone and several emails where my product was. They did not respond to the emails. The one time I got through on the phone, a foreign-speaking lady told me the item had already been delivered. Then she told me that all pending items on their orders were being shipped the next day. No product has been received to date. I have filed complaints with the FTC and my credit card company as well. After reading so many complaints here on the BBB, I do not want them to send the product; I only want to get a full refund. They are scamming so many people that it's not worth anyone's time to fight with them, but it would be comforting to see some law enforcement action.

I spent $99 plus shipping on 100 Pennsylvania Sedge plants. The photo was extremely misleading, with no indication of what would arrive. What arrived was a 100% dead-looking package no bigger than my fist. I have ordered and planted many dormant plants in my life and they have generally done very well. The company said in an insert that these were dormant and to give them some time to grow. They looked so lifeless that I took time- stamped photos over more than a month with not a single plant growing. These were planted in an irrigated raised bed - ideal growing conditions, and they were planted immediately upon receipt. When I contacted the company they declined to take any responsibility for this. They say they only have an "arrive alive" guarantee. However, if you contact them saying the plants look dead upon arrival, they tell you they are "dormant" and to give them time....so the guarantee is meaningless.
Small wonder that this company does not allow any reviews or comments on their Facebook page. I wonder if this is because they are scamming lots of people in a similar way.

I am filing this complaint due to lack of response from the company. I made several orders from this company over the past 12 months. I purchased from them due to the fact that they advertise that they provide a 1 year warranty on their plants and trees. Of the 3 orders I placed, I have had several plants and 1 tree that did not survive. I contacted them early summer about a tree that had died over the winter. I was told it would be replaced. It is now October and they still have not replaced it and now they say they will only provide store credit. Why would I want store credit when what I purchased did not live and they don’t want to replace????? I have better luck with Walmart plants. I want my money back so I can replace the plants with a store I know I can trust. Also, on the plants i purchased, I DID NOT get actual plants, I got roots, so I don’t even know if I got the plants I purchased. None of the following roots grew any plants this summer. So I don’t know what they were. They could have been weeds for all I know.

I also see by your website, that it appears I am not the only one to get scammed by this company.

      1. 1 Redbud tree. $28.99
      2. 1 Labela Cardinal. 2.99
      3. 6 Trillium. 3.99
      4. 2. Daylillys. 5.99
      Total. $41.96

Thank you for your help in this matter.

I purchased 24 Cedar Trees from Tennessee Wholesale Nursery in March 2022 and they were delivered in April 2022. Trees were planted as instructed and approximately two weeks later, we received a two day frost and snow. I called the nursery regarding the weather and was told by the female that answered the phone that the trees should be fine, because they were in the ground about two weeks before the bad weather. She said if they just had been planted, she would be worried. I then called back in July because no change in the trees. I was instructed to do a scratch test on the trees, which I did. I then called back on 8/2/22 and at that time, was instructed to email customer support, which I did, and also submitted photos of all the trees (24). NOTE: At no point and time prior to my phone call on 8/2/22, was I ever instructed to submit an email to customer support. On 8/8/22, I received an email response inquiring how many trees did not thrive. I responded the same date, that none thrived. On 8/10/22, I received another email that stated per their warranty, if plants die within one year, they will reship the same plants at a replacement cost of 50% ($252.86) of the original total, including shipping. I was also advised the frost/freeze would not be the cause of the trees dying and because I did not email customer support until August, the warranty only covers 50%, even though I started making contact with them via phone calls in April. I requested to be refunded the total amount spent ($550.00) or at least, the 50%. I have since retired and am on a fixed income and cannot afford another amount of $252.86 to replace the trees, and possibly go through the same issue again. I have read many reviews from this nursery and alot of people have had the same problem. This place is a rip off. I just want my money back. I tried to go through my bank by I had closed my account after retirement and they can not assist me. Please help!!!!!!!
