Details: Fraudulent double billing 3/20/2025 - Paid as non insured patient at ******************* in N ***********06/02/2025 - received a bill from Pathgroup for what I already paid Medcare 06/16/2025 - I called Medcare and they confirmed I had already paid in full and they didn't know PathGroup. They said they didn't send anything to collections or give another company information to bill me for the visit 06/16/2025 - I was on hold with Path Group for an hour trying to resolve the billing issue. Nobody answers. I believe this company is double billing patients on purpose.

I did lab work at my doctors clinic in October 14, 16, 18 2024 and November 7 2024. Pathgroup sent me the following bills:First bill for a balance of $93.86 on 11/19/2024 Second bill for the same balance of $93.86 on 12/18/2024 saying this is due Third notice of a sudden $144.83 new amount warning that it is the final notice. I contacted customer service *** asking for detailed breakdown for the extra $48.72 which they could not explain and said it is still being processed by insurance. I paid the balance of $93.86 on Dec 31st 2024.There were no bills or notice sent to me from this date but I waited for any remaining balance which never came. I paid $36.97 on 3/19/2025 which was the balance on my online ****************************** sent me another bill for $96.11 on 5/6/2025. When I contacted them on 6/2/2025, they say my balance is 14$ is sent to collections. I was not even made aware of this balance through mail or email or anything. They never sent you detailed breakdown of the bill and keep adding new charges threatening you are due and even send you to collection.I want Pathgroup to call back my balance being sent to collections with no clear heads up or contact. I want pathgroup to send me the detailed breakdown of why I owe ******. I want them to apologize for their mistake in not sending proper bills before sending to collections.

PathGroup | ************************************************** *********** reviews on PathGroup; they have one star reviews for this year 2025.PathGroup sends a paper bill through **** five (5) months after labs were taken.PathGroup has a Billing Portal that is currently down 05/23/2025. A patient wanting to pay their bill cannot pay their bill because the PathGroup Billing Portal is DOWN/Not Working. PathGroups' customer representatives cannot help you because they also use the same PathGroup Billing Portal which is Down/Not working. I ask "how do I pay my bill"? The agent does not have an answer. When you ask to have the issue escalated to PathGroups Technical Support desk, the reply is they cannot. Speak to a Supervisor? Nope, they won't do that either. So basically PathGroup will send your "unpaid" bill to collections. You read that correctly. Here it is in a nutshell: Patient receives paper bill five(5) months late. Patient wants to pay bill. Patient cannot pay bill because PathGroup system is broken. PathGroup will not fix their broken system. Patient bill will be sent to collections. Patient credit history ruined because of PathGroup broken system and late billing processes..Everyone reading this:File a No Surprises Act Complaint with Centers for **************************** (CMS). I made two payments ($51.33 and $654.30) to Pathgroup via **************** for the same service. The $654.30 was before BCBS adjusted the claim to $51.33. I've been calling Pathgroup since April 29 but they are resisting to refund my extra $654.30 payment with several claims some of which they didn't receive the money. I called Instamed who assured me they paid Pathgroup Direct Deposit for both $654.30 and $51.33. Instamed called and sent emails to Pathgroup msgs to show them how to locate the money. Suring my 5 called to Pathgroup since 4/29, I was not able to talk to supervisor nor able to receive any confirmation of refund.I paid Pathgroup in a good faith before they sent me any invoice.I will never use either company again.

Billed 8/30/2024 and Pathgroup Labs never billed insurance and had a random address for us. Called Pathgroup to update address and gave them insurance info. Nothing was changed and we received another bill. We have contacted Pathgroup 4 times and they keep saying they billed insurance and changed our address. Called insurance and they said no claim was ever filed so they called Pathgroup. A few months later we get sent to a debt collector, still with the wrong address. We're lucky our mail is forwarded or else we never would've received any of these and I believe that was what they were hoping for! We dont even know where the address came from. Called insurance again and they said only part of the bill was filed but was denied because Pathgroup filed too late plus they lied again because theres still part of the bill they never filed however the full amountwent to the debt collector. Insurance filed a complaint with Pathgroup. Each time we called Pathgroup, they said our balance was zero and even showed us a portal. After the debt collection paper, Pathgroup lied again saying they pulled it from debt collection and once again we have a zero balance. This isn't true.

      Complaint: 23310412

I am rejecting this response because: I called the number that was provided in PathGroup's letter and it sent to me the same **************** **** that I've been talking to for a year. They are still saying the same thing to me. They said the account is under review and will take 30 days. They said they filed it with insurance but it was rejected due to time limits. The insurance company told me they only filed part of it and they waited too long to file it. Even though we provided the correct insurance information as soon as the bill was sent to us. However they continued to send the bill to the wrong address, one we've never lived at.

I am asking this complaint stay open until PathGroup can confirm this is taken care of.

I had labwork done at PathGroup in ************ on 3 occasions. They were to bill my insurance. After 3 visits over 3 months and approximately 5 months after initial visit, I got a bill for the stated amount. They placed on there that **** claims had been filed. At no point did they contact me to tell me that the insurance hadn't paid anything. Moreover, I believe they are fraudulently stating on their billing statement that they are billing insurance, when in fact they are not. I contacted **** and have included my insurance statement for the entirety of last year. No claims from PathGroup were ever filed. I believe they are purposefully doing this to deceive clients into paying a much higher amount in cash then they will get from an insurance. I would encourage you to investigate this, as I highly believe it to be fraudulent practice that, if done on a larger scale, would be costing consumers millions if not billions. Moreover, they have turned it over to collections in my case.

My health care provider used them to process labs. I did not receive any billing statements from them. I was reviewing my health insurance deductible and saw that it looked liked I may owe something. I contacted them on 3/13/25 spoke to Jasmine who informed me that I did have a bill and it showed that I was not sent a statement. Jasmine could not tell me why I was not sent a bill. I requested one be sent ****. I received a statement the week of 4/1/25. It showed I owed a different amount than what Jasmine stated and no due date. I went online to pay and saw the amount Jasmine stated listed there. I payed more than half the bill. ******************************************* on 4/21/25. I again had no communication that I was late or any due date. When I called the company today 4/21/25, I again spoke with Jasmine who said they showed that I had not been getting statements and that they had received my first payment. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told none was available and to just wait for a call back. I want to make sure this does not affect my credit and they are better about this in the future. I just searched them online and apparently they do this to everyone. This is ruining lives!

On 3/31/25 I got a call from *****-******, a debt collector, attempting to collect a debt for $56 and change on behalf of PathGroup LLC, for a service date of 2/29/2024. I ******* the company and managed to figure out that they are the company that my OB/Gyn contracts out to for ********** and this was for last year's annual visit. I have **************. PathGroup is in network. All preventative services (including Pap smears) are covered at 100%. I called PathGroup to find out what the problem was and they assured me that I actually do not owe them any money. My balance with them is $0. They helped me set up a patient portal so that I could see online that my balance is $0. I called ****. They assured me that they paid all 3 charges from that date in full according to their contract with PathGroup. My patent responsibility is $0. I obtained an explanation of benefits from them documenting their payment. PathGroup agreess that I don't owe them any money. However, they also refuse to fix the issue. Each company just points fingers at the other, though I've given each documentation that my insurance has paid this charge months ago. It's actually a brilliant scam. PathGroup needs weeks to resolve this. In the meantime, *****-****** will continue to destroy my credit score even though they have documentation that PathGroup already got paid. It's such a small amount that I'm going to wind up paying it to save what's left of my credit score. That means *****-****** will get a small percentage, and PathGroup will get paid by me the same amount that my insurance already paid them. They both win, and there's no recourse for the victim.

I have been paying my bills as recieved to the ******** company. I have received a final notice even though I have sent a check on time each month . I have phoned the billing department multiple times to try to get an account of my charges and payments . This has taken months . I have several cancelled checks they say they dont have and do not appear anywhere in my statements . I have also received double charges on my bills that I have previously paid . It certainly looks to perhaps be billing fraud to me . I have not received an explanation where my payments are . I would like this to be investigated.I asked for a billing manager and was told there wasnt one only a supervisor and I wasnt connected to her . This needs to be managed and resolved .Cancelled checks and statements have been supplied to PATHGROUP .
