This was a great experience! I did a 9 1/2 hour focus group and enjoyed the whole thing. They fed us breakfast and lunch with snack and many breaks in between. They paid us with a check for $350 which I cashed the next day with absolutely no problems. I highly recommend this to anyone that has the time to do it. Thank y'all very much and I would love to do another one..

I received a solicit phone call to potentially participate in a market research study conducted by Wilkins Research. I was asked preliminary questions to see if I qualified. One of the questions asked was, "Are you a felon?", to which I responded "yes". Another question pertained to my line of work. I stated that I wasn't currently working(receiving Social Security). She asked what my previous line of work was. I told her that I worked for insurance agents. She told me that I would be receiving a link in my email with a form to fill out in order to confirm acceptance into the study. However, she had made it clear that being in the field of insurance would disqualify me, telling me i should not even mention it when I fill out the form. She had asked me what line of work I was in prior to insurance, and i told her that I worked in home improvement. She told me to put a home improvement employer down on the form, saying that she didn't want to raise red flags during the review of my form. i filled out the form, but backed out of doing the study upon approval, not feeling that Wilkins was a trustworthy company. The study involved being a 'juror' in a mock trial. Felons can't be jurors. Thus, i feel she may have lied, saying I wasn't a felon, being deceptive to the client's prerequisites. Plus, she wanted me to be deceptive in filling out the form regarding my previous employment in order to qualify. In addition, this business has had multiple BBB complaints centering around payment issues, and reviews attached to their website indicate payment problems as well, including bounced checks. The study was to pay 225.00 for 7 hours. It wasn't worth the risk. I'm concerned Wilkins can't be trusted in screening properly for their clients, which would compromise the data that such clients are paying Wilkins to obtain for them. I'm concerned survey participants are being taken advantage of, not being paid, possibly even having to pay bank charges for any checks bouncing.

I spoke with the person who initially spoke to you. She has worked for us for 30+ years. She does not remember you mentioning employment of former employment in insurance rather that you worked in a call center generating sales leads, which would not have prevented you from participating. We are sorry that you feel we are not trustworthy and therefore cancelled. Having been in business since 1971 is clear evidence of our reliability, honesty, and integrity. We hope you will consider doing another study for us in the future.

It sounds like the person who's worked for you for over 30 years fits well with your company as both appear shady in how they conduct themselves.
Obviously she's suddenly going to have a memory lapse if it involves possible wrong-doing on her part.
My last position, as I told her, was generating leads for insurance agents, which obviously involves the insurance field.
She stated that being an insurance agent would definitely disqualify me from the study. However, because I had told her that I was a lead generator in the insurance industry and not an agent, she told me she didn't want me to even put that down on the online form because it might raise a red flag, causing me to be disqualified from the study.
Thus, she asked what my previous job to that one was and wanted me to put that employer/job title down, even though the online form asked for my prior employer.
I see in your response that the 'felon' word didn't even pop up. Did your employee of 30+ years fail to recall that I was honest in disclosing that to her as well?
In fact, when I told her that I had felony convictions, her response was, "they won't even check anyway".
Thus, your company encouraged me to 'twist' information(or outright lie, I should say) to meet the prerequesites as a study candidate, AND I would highly assume that Wilkins itself falsifies information I provided, instead saying that I was NOT a felon, so that I could qualify for the study.
And, I would assume you're doing this so that you have sufficient candidates to participate in a study so that you can justify being paid by clients.
Any clients of yours(or potential clients) are really the ones suffering by your deception.. They've provided you with set prerequesites that study candidates should meet in order for the studies to turn out as accurate as possible, done with integrity. and yet you're not abiding by their wishes.
If Wilkins thinks that I would be interested in participating in a future study with them, they're mistaken. No company in their right mind would want a study candidate who reported them to the BBB for misconduct on their part(dropping it to a review), and no potential study candidate would want to engage with a company that conducts itself as I've described.
And, if you're 'twisting matters' in order to achieve a study participant quota, what else might you be doing that's not on the 'up and up' in order to make a profit?(perhaps not paying out at least to some of your clients from what I can ascertain from reviews on multiple sites?)
    Thank you.

I participated in a four-hour focus group and was supposed to be paid $100.
Wilkins Research never paid me and they don't even respond to emails or calls.
    Complete waste of time.

Hi Dustin, We emailed you in response to your inquiry about the status of your payment on 6/27. Selena H****** is emailed you in case you need to look for it. Additionally, your check for $100 cleared on 7/3 from our bank.
    This complaint is obviously incorrect.
Thank you for your participation in our research.

Just spent the entire day in a focus group for Wilkins Rsearch.. Not only was everyone friendly, professional and kind, I had a great time participating and met some very nice other participants.
I hope to do more with Wilkins in the future.
Payment was exactly as promised. I left at the end of the day with a check in my hand.
    Very professional.

Wilkins Research has suspect business practices. I was involved in a 5 day study and participated for 2 days. I requested a copy of the compensation plan. I signed a release form, but got no comp plan as requested. I received verbal generalizations and no response to emails and voicemails. The compensation document should be readily available. What are they not disclosing?

ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, THE MOST BOGUS ******** I'VE EVER HAD THE SORRY PRIVILEGE TO ANSWER THE PHONE CALLS ON. IF THEY EVER CALL ME AGAIN I WILL START LEGAL PROCEEDINGS IN THEIR STATE. WHY DOESN'T THEIR STATE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THEM!
