I have purchased a gas stove and needed a gas line ran to the kitchen. I contacted Lee Company and explained what I needed and to also check the fireplace as to why it was not working. An employee showed up on time and went straight to the fireplace. My bad, the line was not turned on. He then went under the house to assess the gas line location and what would be needed to connect to the kitchen. He informed me that the 3/4" line was approximately 40' from the kitchen area. He estimated the cost to be around $1,300. With my new stove sitting in the dining room, I agreed to the estimate. He then told me all about his maintenance program and how much money I could save. I declined the program. He then said that for him to come out and assess, it would be $89.00 and the other crew would be coming out to do the actual work. WHAT??? How many trips to the home does it take for the job to be done? Would the crew come out the first time with all the parts needed, complete the job then leave? The crew was scheduled to come on the following Monday between 12-4. I had a dr. appt. the same day in that time frame so I canceled the dr. appt.
Monday arrives and at 12:00 I received a call that Lee Company would not be coming out due to an employee who called in sick. I canceled my dr. appt. for nothing. Later that day I called Lee Company and cancelled all appointments with them.
I contacted another company to come out. ****** with ******** came out the same day at no charge. He went under the house and informed me the 3/4" line was about 15' from the kitchen, not the 40' as I was previously told. I was livid that Lee Company had blatantly lied to me. It is obvious that they took advantage of me for being a woman, thinking I was stupid and could be taken advantage of. I would NEVER recommend Lee Company for anything. The worst company I have ever dealt with.Lee Company
