The business provided me a lawn service which I was told at that time was for 1 specific service for $131 which I paid. About 10 days later received another bill for the same amount and was told when I questioned them about the bill that they had actually provided 2 services. So in my opinion the whole service was pretty deceptive.Business Response

TruGreen called and spoke with *** and Mrs. ***** TruGreen apologizes if the specialist told them he was only applying the grub preventative during the ************ TruGreen offered to credit the grub service, but *** **** advised that a check has already been sent. TruGreen agreed to discount their June application to be at no charge. Door salesman came knock on my door back in April and I decided to switch from ****** pest control to true Green since then I havebeen calling several times and made several complaints about how they are not treating the backyard I have cameras in my backyard and I work from home I called recently and told them that it dont look like theyre treating in the backyard for weeds I was told today that they do not crabgrass however online says they do and the sales person said they do then I was told today by a representative name ****** ***** that her manager said it's blackout in my area and they are currently not treating weeds this was not told to me at the time of signing up Service And I would like all my money back due to my backyard is not being treated for weeds but yet Im paying for the serviceBusiness Response

TruGreen spoke with Mrs. *********** both the local Manager and our Care Experience Coordinator. TruGreen explained that her area does not have a blackout period, also that TruGreen does not treat for crabgrass in her area due to the grass type. The local Manager did set up to meet with Mrs. ********** today, however Mrs. ********** called and indicated that the meeting was not necessary, as she just wants to cancel the services. TruGreen canceled the service, and we are issuing a refund the service she paid for this year (2 treatments.) TruGreen considers this BBB complaint resolved.Initial Complaint

I ordered four TruGreen treatments last year and did not order any in 2025. The company has called my cellphone multiple times from different numbers, never leaving a message. Then they sent a truck out to my property on 6/3/25 and began spraying without consent. I told the driver to leave and tell TruGreen I didnt order service. He agreed to leave but said he could do nothing to prevent another driver from coming. I called the Connecticut number and got an operator who was rude and intransigent and refused also to make a note I did not order service. This is negative option of the worst sort and must be sanctioned.Business Response

TruGreen attempted to contact Mr. ****** via phone and email. TruGreen did let Mr. ****** know that his account is fully cancelled, and he was not billed for the first visit that was not completed. TruGreen has also entered his contact information into our eternal do not contact portal. TruGreen apologized for any inconvenience and frustration we may have caused. On November 7, 2024 at approximately 9am a TruGreen service provider hit my mailbox, knocking it to the ground and loosening the post in the ground. He called his manager, **** (phone # ************). I talked with him also. **** came out and looked at the mailbox. Based on estimates to properly re-seat the post and replaced the mailbox, I asked for 6 months of service for free , or a year at half price, and I would have someone fix my mailbox.**** said he would let me know. After multiple calls I have not heard back from him or the company. I've talked to 2 other managers who said they would get back with me but never did. (One was ***** @ ************ and the other was at ************) Each one called as if I were a potential new customer but when I explained I was calling about a claim they never called back. Now I just want them to pay $400 to get my mailbox fixed. I had it rigged so I could get mail but the post is leaning, and the box is unstable and damaged.Business Response

TruGreen has requested a check to be sent to the branch, and the manager will deliver the check to **** *********. I will continue to follow up to confirm the check was delivered on our end. I believe I cancelled any further services from TruGreen in 2024. I called and informed them that I no longer could afford to have my lawn serviced. I also, informed TruGreen that I could no longer afford the ************************* For reasons, unbeknownst to me, I believe that TruGreen continues to service my lawn and bushes without my authority. I have not been able to see them in action, or I would tell them to leave my property. TruGreen then sends me a bill. I asked the company on at least 3 occasions, via phone calls, to stop the service. However, they will not stop. I no longer want them on my property. I no longer want any services done. They do not have permission to service my lawn and bushes, but they continue to do it, and then, they forward me a bill. I have not paid the bill and I will not pay this bill. I do not want this to affect my credit. On 05/23/2025, a bill was forwarded to my address for $280.28, which I refuse to pay.Business Response

I was solicited Spring of 2024 and declined a lawn care program. I was solicited again, accepted an apology, and agreed to a minimal, inexpensive 6-service plan. Unaware of an automatic contract rollover, I ignored a Feb 2025 TruGreen text. I received a lawn service the next day. I contacted a local TruGreen ***resentative offering to pay for the service already received and who, after lengthy discussion, agreed to cancel the lawn service. A month later I received another TruGreen text that I did not notice or pay attention to and received another service. I contacted a TruGreen ***resentative, specifically requesting service cancellation. I do not otherwise remember the specifics of the discussion. I received a TruGreen bill today and contacted a TruGreen ***resentative. The conversation lasted between 30 minutes to an hour, and I was placed on hold numerous times. The *** advised ***eatedly I would be taken care of, the notes clearly showed that was my ask. The end result of a, perhaps upwards of an hour telephone call was my account was modified from suspended to closed. I was advised I was still accountable for the $70+ bill. I said I would not pay this charge for a second service after cancelling service that I did not request after October 2024. The *** explained she could take my payment over the telephone now.This was a distasteful and abhorrent engagement with the Trugreen ***resentative. I was shocked by the disrespect shown me near the end of the long telephone call. In retrospect, the important information could have been relayed to me in a ten minute call, although I suspect your ***resentative experienced a highly productive and successful hour.I expect resolution of this matter with elimination of the $70+ charge.Business Response

TruGreen apologizes if Mr. ***** was not aware of the continuous service policy and that his request to cancel the service and waive the invoice was not resolved properly. Two weeks ago trugreen sprayed my neighbors lawn and they also sprayed my property. The overspray killed my plants and weeds on my property. It's bad enough they poisoned 4 million of my bees 2 years ago, they are continuing to spray ******nilly all over. My rescued horses and bees are in danger with this kind of over-zealous spraying. I have documented proof Trugreen sprayed ******************************** one year, so anyone can see it's shocking they are still in business and haven't been sued into oblivion.Business Response

Service Manager **** ***** went to the site on 6/4/25 to look for any signs of potential over spray and found nothing but healthy weeds on her property. **** took a video and pictures of the property we treat along her property line and there was no evidence of any over spray whatsoever. A denial letter was delivered to Ms. ****** on 6/6/25 regarding her claim. A proof of delivery and the photos taken by the service manager that visited the property on 6/4/25 are attached. I hate picking weeds and did not care much about my lawn, but when I started working on the backyard I started religiously removing weeds and watering since I laid sod. Soon after I started with tru green. The first couple applications were ok and the grass looked good, but then it started. Every weed you can think of. Id call, they say wait and see how it does after no changes I call again and they offer a free application. Well they end up charging you for that free application. At some point I had called so many times and the yard was finely looking decent (essentially they had to kill the sod because of weeds and I laid grass seed), and then I started getting calls for tree and shrub and mosquito. Well naive me said oh yea I want my trees and shrubs looking good. Now I have fungus on the dogwood and a couple other established plants starting to die. On top of that my lawn is filled with crabgrass and other weeds. I sincerely feel like this company is a scam. I think they fail to provide services rendered, they give free touch-*** and then charge you for them, and they give little care about the customers true complaints. Give them a call, and they will give you a yellow brick road to nowhere. Proceed at your own risk. All of my neighbors who go with TruGreen have done the same thing, kept them for a year, saw some results and then realize its an uphill battle we signed ourselves up for. Weed control is hard, I get it But whats funny to me is they dont deny to me Ive had trouble with their lawn service over the period Ive paid for it, they have the history on how many times Ive called, but theyre unwilling to just refund this years applications. So here I am letting others know of my experience, and cautioning others to stop and think before agreeing on that call.Business Response

********** company destroyed my backyard lawn in which my lawn never recovered. They tried to repair it by laying new grass seeds which only enhanced the destruction of my lawn. They destroyed my lawn by preforming services I never authorized them to perform on my lawn. For some time now they've been mailing offers to me for services. I've contacted True Green multiple times in a demanding way for them to stop all contact with me. I was met with rude and unprofessionalism by some of their customer services representatives. Some stating they put in the request to stop contacting me which end up being false as True Green continues to contact me. I went as far as to complain with ********** corporate representative. I even sent a complaint about being contacted and the unprofessionalism to *********************** ******** ****** and my emailed complaint to her was rejected.I am a disabled veteran and i suffer from many conditions with PTSD, depression, and anxiety being my worse disabilities. I am a Tru Green customer with a service agreement for my lawn. My lawn was beautiful and green in front and back until they came out on 5/16/25 when it was 89 degrees and applied liquid fertilizer which severely weakened the lawn and killed patches. We had rain the day after the service and I've watered every day since then. I soon realized that 1) it was too hot for liquid fertilizer and/or 2) the technician over applied too heavily and/or 3) the strength was too strong. Now I have a lawn that looks worse than if I was doing it myself. To make the matter worse I have repeatedly called and emailed them asking for a Manager to call me regarding what they will do to fix the problem which due to the late spring time will mean we can't reseed until Fall and I have the whole summer with a messed up lawn. They sent several techs out who one confirmed over application of fertilizer although he probably won't admit it to anyone else. But no Manager has called me yet.Business Response
