I had TruGreen service last year. I authorized and p***aid ~$550 for the service of 7 applications in 2024. I was clearly told and confirmed by my sales *** that no future service will be automatically continued and I will not be charged for any futhre service without my approval. Therefore, I was so surprised to see TruGreen keep charging my credit card without my approval for $337 in 3 separate charges in 2025. I moved out of my house in the end of 2024 and later sold my house where they serviced , and there is no reason for me to keep the service in 2025. I have never allowed or agreed TruGreen to keep the service in that house, and I am not responsible for the charge of the service I do not allow. This is a credit card fraud!!!Business Response

TruGreen left a message and sent an email to Mr. ** on 6/2/25 apologizing for his experience. It is never TruGreen's intention for someone to receive services they weren't expecting, and TruGreen apologizes for any miscommunication or misinformation surrounding our continuous service policy. TruGreen has credited the 2025 charges and advised Mr. ** that they will be refunded to his card within 5-7 business days. TruGreen has cancelled any further services at the address.Customer Answer

I contracted with Trugreen and prepaid for 10 *************** visits on March 6, 2025. The main reason for signing with Trugreen was to eliminate weeds from the lawn. They have done nothing to eliminate any weeds from the lawn. The only weeds that die, are the ones I spray myself or pull out of the ground. I continually fill out their service survey and they send out a different person each visit with a backpack tank sprayer, and a different explanation of what the Sarasota branch is not providing them with to do do the job correctly. I am told something different each time. I am unable to speak to a manager regarding this. Every time I call, I am only set up for another useless application of spot spraying.Business Response

TruGreen and Mr. ***** came to the agreement to refund half of the completed services and the unused portion of his prepayment. I just received a bill from TruGreen on date May 28th 2025 for $161.46 for a charge for mosquito flea and tick treatment that never happened. I refused service due to the gentleman that showed up informed me and my wife that he was only able to treat our farm for mosquitoes. Then we were informed that he could not spray for mosquitoes due to it was not safe for our livestock. This bill was dated May 20th 2025. I spoke with a representative less than a week ago I was told this would not happen. I spoke with the branch manager branch number 5982 she did not know anything in regards to true Green as far as their history and that they originally started out as a lawn service. She had only been working for TruGreen for 6 months. I feel that true Green needs to educate their workers on their original origin. And also on what their services provide and their safety to livestock and people. I have autoimmune disease these chemicals could have not only harmed my animals but myself.Business Response

TruGreen spoke with Ms. ***** on 6/2/25 and apologized about the confusion with our Welcome Aboard letter vs invoice. The attachment in which Ms. ***** included in her BBB complaint is the Welcome Aboard letter which outlines the plan we had on file and the rates. Ms. ***** canceled her account before we completed a service. Our invoices are generated from completed services. If there is not an active account, our system will not generate a billable service. I am constantly being harassed by this company. They call me every single day cuss at me call me names, including calling me ****** over and over again.I have never had business with this company. I have been a long time customer of **********************. I received a call from a Trugreen salesman in January 2025 saying my shrubs had insect damage and for $284 they can spray them. I thought that was a lot but he said they would through in seeding so that seemed like a better deal. After multiple calls with the company, they said even though the salesman promised it, they weren't authorized to do the seeding and a manger would call me to discuss it. Well the manager never called. Bottom line is they don't honor what their salesmen sells.Business Response

It is never TruGreen's intention to provide misinformation to someone regarding the services they will be receiving. TruGreen will ensure this is investigated and addressed internally accordingly to ensure the proper expectation is set at the time of sale. TruGreen has already issued a refund of $249.50 back to Mr. ******** card, and we will refund an additional $34.66, so he will have received the full $384.16 prepay back. Mr. ****** should expect to receive the $34.666 refund within 3-5 business days.

Terrible service. Completely ripped me off and will never use again.2 weeks ago, I was prepared a quote but specified the main issue I had was wanting grass seed and my beds treated. The caller said they do not treat garden beds but I could ask the technician to do it when they are out. I asked them to put that in the contract and they said they couldnt, but I could just ask the technician. I told them if the service wasnt guranteed, then I wouldnt be able to sign. They raised their voice and hung up on me.Someone called me back the following day and apologized and said they would add the bed treatment to my quote for free. Hesitantly, I agreed to sign up but I needed to get my lawn treated and they seemed reasonable.After the first two services, the technician told me to rake my **** up before they come down to seed my yard. I then asked when they would be seeding and they forwarded me to customer service.Customer service then informed me that the person (sales **** who agreed to add the treatment "free of charge," actually just took services off my original quote for seeding and aeration and added a one time service to my flower beds. I was paying $450 solely for weed treatment in my grass and one time for my flower beds only.When I called to contest, they refunded the remaining amount but charged me $100 for their 20 minute visit of spraying weed killer.I shouldnt have forgiven them for hanging up on me and already trying to scam me to get my business. But I thought the person apologizing really wanted to help me, and they were just scamming for a sale too. Ultimately, I was scammed by two people to no resolution.Business Response

Several years ago we contracted with Trugreen for lawn services. For the most part we were satisfied but then it became too expensive and we cancelled. They also performed services without notification. Shortly after I reseeded my lawn they applied a weed preventer that killed the new grown. we again cancelled. This spring they applied a fertilized without notification. We were not home so could not stop them. We sent a check to the ********** office for the cost anyway on May 1, 2025. Now we keep getting calls from the headquarters for payment. We never received a written bill so we sent the check to the only address we had. The most recent call from the headquarters said that we should have sent the check to them but we have no address for the headquarters. The check has never been cashed.They also said that they could not deal with the ****************** we would have to sea; with them. It seems like this is their problem in communication.Business Response

I paid in full for several services with TruGreen. Weed and Lawn, Mosquto and aeration. They performed two services (weed/lawn and mosquito) and I canceled because they changed the size of my lawn and wanted more money. They have yet to refund any money and keep sending people out, even though they gave me a confirmation number for cancelation. Im going to report anyone coming into my property without reason to be there as trespassing. Truegreen needs to respect the cancelation and refund my money please.Business Response

TruGreen advised that we are only able to treat lawn areas with the lawn applications, but if a lawn was mismeasured, the price quoted should be honored. Ms. ****** advised that the mulch areas were the main reason she signed up for service this year. Sales person came to my house. Walked around my yard, I gave them the vision of how I want my yard to look. They explained their service plan is exactly what I need. They shown photos of how my yard will look from their service. They explained my yard had more weed then grass, they would kill off these weeds leaving only healthy and thick green grass. They explained they will automatically come out once a month, but the plan allows me to requests more services, which they said would be needed since the yard was not maintained by the last owners and was in very bad shape. They said its free, easy, no questions asked, I can just request another service. No limits. After telling me everything I wanted to hear, things changed once I paid. I chose to pay upfront instead of monthly, so they have my money for the whole year, they got what they want, so customer service went out the window. Every time I try to schedule a reservice they ask a thousand questions then decline to schedule it. The app has an ai chat that does not even have an option to schedule a service. My yard actually looks worse after 6 months of service then before I hired Trugreen. We are in a drought, so yes grass won't be flourishing, but my yard is growing all types of big bushes and random plants and weeds, and the grass is still in terrible shape, even in the rainy season. I was recommended 2 services a month and that is what I requested, but only been getting 1/month. I sent emails requesting a resolution or a refund, it gets ignored. I am now requesting a resolution and a plan to get my yard on track, to look like the photos I was promised, with 2 services a month pre scheduled since I can't schedule additional services like I was promised, a partial refund, and a tree care plan added at no additional cost for the remaining 6 months (I only have 2 small palm trees). I am happy to continue to use TG for future years, but not if this service remains consistent and theirs no results.Business Response

TruGreen has been in communication with Mr. ******** to provide a resolution. TruGreen apologized to Mr. ******** if one of our sales associates provided improper expectations. We had one of our Service Managers to do a proper visit because there was no response to our many calls only to our emails. Our records indicate that the lawn needs renovation, a service that we do not offer. As a good faith gesture, we emailed Mr. ******** two options as a resolution. The first one is to continue service with TruGreen, with the understanding of the limitations for the turf type that that the lawn is and must consider periodic overseeding to improve the density as needed. If Mr. ******** would like to move in this direction, TruGreen will provide the services for the balance of 2025 at no charge. The second option is to cancel the services and process a full refund. TruGreen considers this matter resolved.
