1 starThe person from Pipe Wrench Plumbing gave me an estimate to fix my leaking water line saying that they would need to use a backhoe to dig up my water line. They requested a $500.00 deposit. The workers only used shovels. They did not find the leak at first and said the leak was under the foundation of the house. They said that would have to move my water heater, dig up my garage floor, and cut into my garage wall and then run a new water line. They gave me a high estimate for that work. Then then said they were going to bypass my line so that they could give me temporary water. When they cut the water line to do the bypass they realized that leak was actually in the yard. They dug up about another three feet of ground and found the leak. They then fixed the original leak and also had to repair the line where they cut it to do a bypass. So now my water line has two patches instead of one. Once they were done with the job the worker told me I owed 326.57 which I paid. A little while later they called and said I still owed $800.00 more. With the time they spent on the job it cost me more then $300.00 an hour for the work they did. I asked for a final bill and on the bill it showed the $800.00 dollars as a manager's credit instead of a payment from me. The original estimate also said they were going to scope the line and backfill with grave. I found out later what they listed was for a sewer line not a water line. I think their estimator need to learn how to give a proper quote. I wonder how they file their taxes when they show customer payments as manager credits?Review fromBrian B
