Buying from Clayton homes was a terrible experience. It took them a very long time to set home up and when because my son moved some clothes in the home they told us we broke the rules and the warranty would no longer be any good ,but since when do they not have to put locks on the doors because of clothes being moved in all homes come with locks on doors last I checked and on top of that my sons dish washer was acting up so he went to panel box and turn breaker that was marked dishwasher off and started to work on it when he was almost electrocuted because the breaker marked dishwasher was actually the refrigerator so no I don't recommend them to no one. What would have happened if I lost my son to their carelessness?

Because we are still "in progress" of replacing our home after a tragic loss, we can only review our experiences thus far, but to this point, I cannot express enough gratefulness for them overall.
We love the team at Clayton Homes of Hermiston, OR! They feel more like Family than sales associates. They have been there in the trenches with us as we battle our total-loss fire recovery, and we cannot wait to see our new home delivered and set up! Jake, Sara, and Jeff (who has now moved onto managing his own location) have gone the extra mile to help us rebuild without the stress and pressure of being pushed into a sale. Hermiston is a team with Heart and Care for their community. We expect that 5th star on the review will be coming soon.

I live in Ohio and was moving to Florida. I found the East Palatka Clayton Homes and reached out for information. Very friendly sales manager named Mario responded. After discussion, I applied through three of his lenders. First two were sponsored by Clayton. Super high application fees. $4500 or $7500. Third company didn't do land and mobile home. I asked Mario if he had any other recommendations for loans. He gave me a name and number. JR was name. JR was extremely rude and condescending from the start. After a 5 days of no approvals, JR stopped responding to all contact. I gave this stranger all my info including pay stubs. Come to find out, JR is no loan officer. He a credit counselor that makes no money off loans. This is horrible service and advise. Mario didn't even know he was a credit counselor. Yet he refers customers to him.

Hi Chad, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We strive to provide a world-class experience. We're sorry to hear you had a difficult experience with financing services. Clayton Homes is not a lender and has no part in lending aspects of the buying experience. We would be happy to recommend a different lender, or you can shop for the lender of your choice. Please contact us at [email protected].

Your response is 100% a lie. I've spoken to multiple people and builders. Either Clayton owns or is affiliated directly with ********** *******. In fact, they are the company that charges a $7500 origination fee on top of closing costs. I'm sure Clayton gets a piece of this money.

I need someone to reach out to me I have been dealing with Freedom Homes and I have been approved and closed and now it seems as if it's going to take a while to even get it delivered and set up. We started in September and this is December now they want to stall. Why do you thing a person is purchasing a home? I would like for someone to reach out to me! Wish I seen these comments be for we got started. Please reach out to me. I am so tired of the people in the Freedom Homes Office. They seem to be loss and full of bull. Four months and still going.

I bought a Clayton Home in August of this year after losing everything in a fire. It has been a nightmare. And I’m not talking about the fire. From the start I have been lied to and given the run around. Everyday something else falls off or comes loose inside and out. Plus having to maneuver around extra wall boards, that was left by the dealership, due to 3 walls having to be replaced. Both bathroom cabinet are coming apart. The dealership says the problems are manufacturing problems. When the manufacturer FINALLY sent someone out I wasn’t given any notice so I wasn’t available. The message left on my voice mail was rude. I guess cause I wasn’t home when he arrived. Now there’s no telling how long I’ll have to wait to get things fixed.

They are an absolute joke as a whole. From there inside mortgage lenders to there absolute useless homeowners insurance.
My home is just under 4 years old. With in 6 months my hvac system had to be repaired. Not to mention it’s undersized for the home. I’ve had to have it worked on some capacity every season. It should have been replaced. The counters were delaminating. My roof had to be replaced and I had three different roofers say it was a manufacture defect but insurance said it was hail and wind. My water heater supply line busted and flooded my house.
These are all things that should last longer than a year. Don’t waste your time or money.

If zero stars was an option this would be it. My son got scammed in to buying one of these peaces of ****. I have been involved in mobile industry for over 30 plus years , and I am appalled that this company is aloud to stay in business and that HUD supposably approved this garbage to continually be manufactured.
FROM the start( a little over a year) the roof leaks , water has infiltrated the walls as well as the widows have water leaking in around them. Water leaking in and around the walls where the main electrical panels is located. These homes are just haphazardly throne together with no thought of longevity or safety.
The roof vents are improperly installed.
The furnace filter housings is definitely not code compliant. Switchs and receptacles improperly wired.
Almost all the trim is falling off,do to the pin nails being over driven.
Then to add insult to injury, apparently any slumlord in state of Indiana that owns a moble home park can sell this junk to any unsuspecting consumer. Consumers have no protection for the homes shoddy construction or the resellers improper setup/installation in their mobile home parks. If your dealing with the manufacturer and a resellers? You are screwed. It only becomes a blaming game between the two. The seller will tell you to call the manufacturer and manufacturer will tell you to call the resellers. They do this until the warranty expires, this is the entitled/not my problem game they play.
And if by the grace of God you get one of the two to attempt to fix any problem, it most likely will be as half ass as it was done to begin with.
I could keep going, but this would turn out to be a book. Not to mention a waste of time.
      Good luck and beware.

Great Idea REALLY BAD EXECUTION. I bought a top of the line modular home 2x6 sidewalls the works. They still put stuff in a modular that's in the cheapest homes. You go to the lots to look at a home and the have the corner round trim perfect to give you the illusion that's what you buying but it's not. Certain things like trimming a house out just ok is good enough. A basically have a great house with shoddy finishing.

I purchased a Clayton home years ago and we removed siding to do an upgrade today and there is no tyvek behind our siding. There is also 3 inch gaps between the plywood. I would not recommend this company.
