    I recently moved and had the property I moved from shut down at the breaker box and locked. When I got my final bill from MLGW for a total of 3 1/2 days they charged me over $200 for a home that was empty for over a month and had no electricity on. Then told me the meter reader did note a higher than normal reading but nothing could be done except I pay the bill or they would add it to my new address. There is no way possible any of this sounds right to anyone. A bill for 3 1/2 days over $200 is unreal. NO ONE WAS LIVING IN THE HOME AND THE BREAKER BOX WAS SHUT OFF! And to be told they will not look into it and I just have to pay it or else, sounds like stealing to me! Now instead of my final bill being $396, Ive been told its over $622 and no payment plan! Just pay it or we add it to you new account!!! This is awful!! Thieves!!!!

    We need competition in Memphis. With the last storm, we were out of power 6 full days. For the last 3 days I've made dinner early as the transformer has blown every evening at dinner time for 3 consecutive days. We haven't had 24 hours with consistent power for 10 days. I've spent so much on food, gas for our generator, daycare, and summer camp. Summer camp and daycare were closed multiple days which resulted in lost wages. ATT service won't be restored until MLGW power is reliable via correspondence with my brother who works for ATT. I've called and asked to speak with a MLGW supervisor. I'm still waiting. ***** left an electrical wire attached to a pole in my backyard for me to repair?? Seems they should have taken it with them. But they did leave a bunch of trash in my yard including water bottles in my yard and gatorade bottles stuck in my metal fence. MLGW is overpriced for services provided. The *** is welcome to come visit.

    ***** had been out constantly we having to constantly throw everything in the house away and go stay in hotel rooms then they send high bills out. How is the bill high if i cant have steady power . Mlgw needs new crews or something.

    In the span of four days, power has gone out three times. The incompetency of MLGW and its employees is evidenced by their lack of system maintenance and protection.

    The worse utility company in *******, they scam you into paying higher utility bills becuase they are incompetent, with low utility standards.

    Power has been off since we had a 20 min storm yesterday. Everything in our fridge and freezer is thawed and ruined. Power won't be on for another SEVERAL HOURS. 18 hours without power. I'm paying 200 a month for a 2br apt. *************** Awful customer service, ROBBERY.....0/10

    Scheduled an appointment two weeks in advance to have a specific window to connect gas and electricity. Appointment was scheduled for 4pm-6pm. Called at 4:48pm to get an update because they are notorious for not showing up. 6:03pm approaches, I call again for the service rep to inform me that someone was there at 4pm. I say thats a lie, she mentions it was done remote but there was an issue and another department is coming out to cut on the electricity. I ask about the gas, she puts me on hold for a couple minutes and say they cannot give me a timeframe that they will come out. The appointment was set weeks ago!!!! For 4-6pm this company needs a revamp with customer support focus and leadership visibility so we can hold people accountable!

    MLGW is the worst company operations for utility services. I've lived in two other cities which are better than Memphis and also, I have never experienced horrific service before until MLGW. The company needs better operations management as well as better customer service reps to represent the company. I would give MLGW a score of less than 1.

    The service from MLGW is pathetic. First, they came to our house and changed the gas meter while we were not home, They didn't give us any notification and because we were out, they left the gas turned off. I held for 2 hours to contact someone to come and turn the gas back on so we would have heat. A few weeks later, they came and changed the electrical meter. Also without notice. The street light in front of our house was out for 4 months despite the fact that it was reported multiple times. Most recently, I have not received a monthly ***** **** I contacted MLGW I was told the meter reader didn't get a reading and would need to come back. This was 2 1/2 weeks ago and there has been no sign of a reader or a bill. **************** told me to "just send them a payment". I would also leave negative stars if that was an option. This monopoly needs to go!

    Horrible power option with no other choices in the area. Rolling power blackouts during the coldest two days of the year causing untolled damages and death locally. Essentially equating them to murderers with corporate greed and no visibility into public works. Its criminal and those who control the power should be held accountable for their actions or lack thereof. Christmas 2022 has proven they care little to nothing about citizens and their greed knows no bounds.
