      I contacted American Home Shield tonight about replacing a ceiling fan in my new home. I asked one specific question of the representative and she could not answer my question or even grasp the question I was asking. I explained to her the contractor they sent out is going to charge me $225 out of pocket if there is not a fan mount on my ceiling if they come out and do work. She couldn't answer if I got the fan from the contractor and got my own electrician if it would be covered. She couldn't even answer if the home warranty would cover $225 if the contractor comes out, has to replace the fan, and has no fan mount in the ceiling. They have to wait for authorization from the authorization team who has not contacted me once even though she said they sent me an email. Guess what they never did. At the end of the call she wanted to verify my phone number and email address again even though this is information already verified at the beginning of the call. I work in a call center. I know when a representative is not listening to me and what I'm asking and has to repeatedly ask for information. She also rushed me off the phone at the end and repeatedly spoke over me. Terrible FIRST experience with this company. I really give 0 stars on this.

      It helps just to know that the BBB looking out for people and businesses. Filled out an online form thinking it would be like the previous warrranty that we had. Gave t warrenty people at American Home Sheild without thinking an account number to my bank. When I read a copy of the warrenty, it had large deductables that was more than any service agency shoud have.The next morning I called and requested to cancel the contract. We told her that it didn't meet our needs because of the cost of each deductable and the maax they would pay on a repair of the **** system. So this person kept talking in circles trying to push the service even though it was clear that our minds ***** made up, then after awhile. when she pushed us up to the edge, she hung up on us. The problem is that after contacting them twice, a man agreed to stop pulling money out of the account and refund the money they had taken without an agreement. Now there is another withdrawal. We are mature Americans and both of us are disabled. This is very distrssing. Please help.

      I called that my AC wasnt working and within minutes I had an email that my request was assigned to a local HVAC technician and they contacted me with an hour. Great customer ********************** from ****** as she was attentive to our needs and request. AHS made it happen for my family and I.

      We have had American Home Shield for years on all our homes. This is the first time I have ever ran into not only an issue, but this type of issue that has been handled so poorly. Back in April my wife placed a Home Warranty claim on our clothes washing machine. A gentleman showed up and not only told us what was wrong with the item, but also took pictures of the model number and the broken part. A few weeks went by and my wife called to get an update in which at that time American Home Shield said they have never put in a work order for our house and my wife replied "well who then did you send to our home"? They said they would have to look into it which yet again they never called her we had to call them a couple of times to get "someone" to finally say "oh yeah we did send someone" and they are looking into it. We left it at that and then another few weeks went by (now over a month). The part came in and they came to the house only to find out it was not the right part (what was the point of taking pictures of model and broken part). So they left and had to order another part. Now we are going on 2 months. Mind you this is costing my family ***** dollars a week on laundry mats since my wife and I both have to have clean office clothing for work and son is in baseball. Kept calling once to twice a week to get updates because neither the repair person nor American Home Shield would keep us updated. First they would say a couple of days, then a couple of weeks and finally they had no estimated time. I then kept asking to get a supervisor because it was going on 3 months now (they did credit our first service call) and I wanted to get a new washer and reimbursed. The one call I made the person said they would put in for a recommendation for this to be done and wife and I got rid of our old washer. Now they are retracting saying that wasn't said and its now our fault. No, not knowing who you send is your fault, no communication is their fault, and telling
