a few months back I met with friends downtown and used Metropolis parking facility app to pay for parking. I had no idea that they were keeping my credit card on file. It should have been a one and done. Then on April 20, 2025 I parked in SAT airport garage. As a disabled veteran with disability tags on my vehicle I am supposedly exempt from paying airport parking for up to 30 days. When I exited the parking lot, after showing proper identification and registration, my card was charged $50.99. On April 24, 2025 I had to fly out again to a funeral and again, when I exited the parking garage I was charged $60.99. The airport parking attendant assisted me in removing my credit card from the app (again I was not aware that it was saved there). I contacted the company, requesting a refund and all I've gotten were apologetic emails for the charges. On May 6, I received an email requesting "more information" and per their request I sent a photo of my license plate, my ID, and a copy of my registration which I sent on May 11, 2025. To date I have not had any further correspondence nor received a refund. It's been well over a month. If their technology can recognize a vehicle's license plate in order to charge the owner, it can very well recognize specialty plates and NOT charge the owner. Moreover, I never knowingly authorized these charges on my credit card and told them as much.Business Response

one day after I filed the complaint I received a response from Metropolis, after weeks of trying to get a refund. For that I am happy. What concerns me now is the 5-10 business days for them to return the funds. My credit card was literally charged at the gate before my car even left the parking lot. Being a merchant myself, I know just how easy it is to make a keystroke and issue a refund. With each response I get from Metropolis another 5-10 business days is added. To date it's been 27 BUSINESS DAYS (almost 40 calendar days) and there are no pending deposits to my credit card. Until I see actual $$ deposited to my account, I remain unsatisfied.Customer Answer

I so appreciate your help in resolving this issue. I just hope that I will not have to repeat this complaint as I will be traveling again soon and will have to utilize the same parking facility. Hopefully their system has been updated and/or the process restructured to avoid overcharging customers.
Again, thank you.

Metropolis on ******************* I owe them $35.25 for unpaid parking in **********. I do not owe them for parking as my car could not possibly be parked at the Hyatt and their parking at the same time. I don't know how they were able to obtain photos of my car when I only drove into the entrance for Hyatt valet parking. I want them to delete the bill, cease and desist all actions against me.March *****, 2025 I checked into the Hyatt Regency on ****************** and checked my car through valet parking. My car remained with Hyatt valet parking for the duration of my stay. I paid my bill which included the charges for parking.April 24, 2025 I received a Parking Notice from Metropolis stating that I parked in their garage and left with out paying on March *****, 2025.I contacted the Hyatt and they assured me that my car was parked in their garage and all parking fees were paid. They further stated that they don't use other parking sites and don't know anything about Metropolis.I checked the name Metropolis and the phone number they gave to verify it as a legitimate business. The phone number on the the notice showed 1 claim of scam and the other that the number belonged to a medical group in ****. I attempted to call every number given for service/help from the Metropolis site receiving only busy signals. The bill came from a PO Box from ************, Il that doesn't show an active office there. Headquarters for the company are listed in **************************************************, Ca. I would have liked to have spoken to someone from Metropolis to resolve this issue, and it could have been handled days ago if only you could get something other than a busy signal when you call their service/help number. Again, I don't owe Metropolis any money as my car cannot possibly have been valet parked at the ***** (*****************) and their Parking (***********) at the same time. I want Metropolis to delete the bill, cease and desist all actions against me.Business Response

The parking charge should have been $0 because I shopped at the grocery store associated with the garage and paid over the $15 advertised limit for getting free parking. I shopped at ******* and spent $30.57 (receipt attached) paid at 18:10 (6:10 PM). The validation did not work, and I was automatically charged (a 12-hour rate) of $18.99 plus a service fee for 20 minutes of parking. Date of incident - 5/18/25 Location of garage - ************************************** ******** validation lot)For 20 minutes from 5:52-6:12 PM I reached out to their customer service team and was refused a refund with a poor explanation as to why I was not entitled to a refund.Customer Answer

Refund Recieved!
After another round of emails with the customer support agent (and I assume from the negative rating I gave to them in the Metropolis feedback survey - and possibly even after getting your notice that I filed a complaint with you) they refunded me the parking amount as a one time curtsey, and informed me it would not happen again if I dont successfully validate.I changed my rating of the agent in the metropolis from bad to good, and this complaint is resolved for the purposes of acquiring the refund.
From this whole experience, I do not think the business is dealing straight with customers, because it shouldnt take this money to begin with and this much effort and feedback to resolve it. Im glad my case was individually handled, but overall Im left with a feeling of mistrust and hesitation to use this companys services again.

On May 16 I came to ********* for a wedding to be held on Saturday. There was a cocktail party for the event the night before. I went to ************************ I entered info at Metropolis parking spot. 1 st hour was supposed to be free. I did move the car to the street before hour was up. Info on QR code redirected me to what I thought was a $3 service to keep my information safe but in reality was an entertainment app called *************** 3 days later I was charged again $34 because I apparently had signed up for a membership I didnt agree to. My complaint is I was just trying to park my car legally. If I was duped into thinking this was part of the parking service. Im sure others have also been done the same way. This company should not allow this deception and redirecting me to other websites as being from them. The phone number on their signs does not work as well.Business Response

I stood at the ******* in *********** from April 18 to 19th. The Hotel offers valet parking through Metropolis Parking garage. When I checked out of the hotel on April 19th. The driver from the garage pulled up with my car and attempted to park it on the street. The driver hit a construction barriers several several times going forward and reverse. I begged him to stop. My car had several scratched on the driver side. I called the hotel 20 minutes later not knowing they used a garage and were not responsible. They had someone from Metropolis contact me the following day named *** he asked me to forward him a picture of my drivers license and insurance co name and that someone will get back to me. No one ever did. A week later I contacted *** he gave me contact info for his Manager ****** *****. Assured me he would address my claim. I left ***** multiple voicemails and he never called me back. On May 10th I reached back out to *** he was surprised no one got back to me. ****************************** because you did not file a complaint on the spot , your skin has been denied. Not once since the incident did anyone tell me this! Also, my car was scratched and I have a hotel witness and video. Why cant this company be held accountable and not give me a technical answer with some loop hole when they did indeed damage my car. This is unfair business practices. They must do this to many other innocent people like myself. My car is 2024 and should not have the scratches it does based on an incompetent driver who represents Metropolis garage. I want the company to pay for the damage they caused. Thank you.Business Response

At ************* 3/1/25 we saw no signage indicating you had to pay for parking Ive been going for years and never received a parking ticket. Furthermore the business we were going wasnt opened so we waited outside. The mere cost of a 5.00 is now ***** for late all together for late fees. My family and I feel their practices are misleading and unreasonable five times the cost for an hour of parking. I would pay 5.00 but ***** for parking fare is ridiculous and I fare business practices. The public should be made aware of this scam.Customer Answer

This company took over the payment system for a parking structure near my work. They offer a ticket-less payment system that allows you to register your vehicle and be charged based on your license plate at the exit. I decided to use the company's app to subscribe to a monthly parking subscription for the structure. Via the app, I subscribed to the only location that is visible via the map interface. After subscribing, I continued to be charged the daily rate for each visit (meaning the monthly subscription was not being used). I reached out to support and was told I had subscribed to the wrong parking subscription and that my subscription had already been cancelled. My mistake is that I subscribed to "500 Marquette Reserved" and not "500 Marquette," even though "500 Marquette Reserved" is the only location that appears in the subscription options for this structure. Unfortunately, via the app, I have not been able to cancel anything as the app throws an error when attempting to cancel and says the subscription will still renew next month. The company has refused to refund the subscription I am unable to use, refused to confirm that I will not be charged for the next month's payment, and refused fix the misleading entry on their application. I would like a refund of the monthly subscription.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:They have not responded to the core issue regarding the problem with their app or the inability to cancel the monthly subscription. They have not confirmed that the monthly subscription is cancelled and will not be billed next month nor have they addressed the issue with the app only showing the incorrect structure as a subscription option on the map.

I was attending a wedding and staying at the ****************. I parked my car at a parking garage operated by **************************** There were signs posted all over that listed a maximum daily charge of $25. After parking for two nights, Metropolis charged me far more than what was listed at the facility. When contacting their customer service, their representative stated "I would like to inform you that rates can change frequently depending on the day, time, and events happening." Essentially, they list one price on the signs to lure you in, and then once you're in, they jack up the price to whatever they see fit. It seems like a horribly predatory business practice to me.Business Response

Parking Garage at **************************************************************************** Had a meeting at ********* (a tenant of the building). Parked in the designated parking. There was no gate and no attendant suggesting that parking was paid. There was a no ticket on my rental car suggesting that I should get a ticket validated at the time. There was nothing in my field of view. The date of the parking was 3/31/25.I received notice from my rental company, Budget, by mail on 5/3/25 (Saturday), regarding a notice they received from Premier Parking (************************************************) and I was charged 5/4/25.This is ridiculous. It seems like a gotcha parking scam. The signage on-site should be in every parking space... or there should be an attendant or a gate on-site or a ticket left on the vehicle (so I could be aware to get the parking validation).Business Response
