I purchased a 2022 ****** Sentra it has hankook tires on it that are rated for ****** miles I am at ****** miles and the tires are below the tread change the tires have not even lasted a third of the life they're supposed to. **** called hankook they said they cannot take and do anything about it because it was a brand new car when I bought it the tires came on it last I checked a ****** mi warranty should cover no matter what why does it matter whether I bought it or the dealership bought them I personally recommend that no one ever by this any tire from this company ever again they are junk.Business Response

We regret that the Hankook tires installed on your 2022 ****** Sentra did not meet expectations. There are many factors that contribute to tire wear, and there is no hard and fast rule to measure the service life of a tire. Tires are made with various types of raw materials and a variety of rubber compounds all having varying performance properties. Once a tire is designed and manufactured to achieve given performance properties and put into use, it is subjected to further varying conditions such as weather, storage,load, speed, inflation pressure, maintenance practices, road conditions, driver inputs, and much more. Since all these factors affect the service life of a tire, it is just not possible to predict with accuracy or scientific validity the service life of a tire. While one may be drawn to look to the tire's construction as the sole contributor to the rate of tire wear, the earlier mentioned factors, and more, are direct contributors to how a tire will wear.
It is important to note that the tires equipped as Original Equipment tires (OE Tires- tires installed during new vehicle assembly) on the ****** Sentra do carry a Limited Manufacturer's Warranty against issues relating to manufacturing and materials.
However, they do not carry a Mileage Warranty or a Road Hazard Warranty, which would cover mileage/wear & road hazards.
Therefore, there is no warranty consideration for this tire condition at ****** miles, or any mileage.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
It is a load of c*** there were multiple people in the dealership all with the same problem which tells me that it is a defective group of tires it isn't like it's one tire all of the people there needed 4 new tires because the tire wear sucked. This is why I have notified ****** and filed a complaint with them as well. Your obviously selling junk tires to them and they shouldn't do business with you.

I purchased 2 Hankook Kinergy GT (H436) All season 235/40r19 92V passenger tires from *******.com for a total of $419.16. on May 13, 2022. The tires were picked up from ******* on ************ in **********, ** on May 17, 2022. I called ******* back in December 2022 when i noticed knots on both tires. ******* advised me to call Hankook directly. I called Hankook and was advise to take the vehicle with proof of purchase to a local tire shop. No one had the tires or claimed the couldn't find the tires. I called a ******** tire shop (T ****** enterprise. Phone number ************ in ********** **. Good year sold me 3 tires, i only got a 3rd one because i had one that didn't match, but they replaced the 2 with the knots and charged me $977. ******** advised me to call Hankook they didn't just warranty it out as i was advised by Hankook. Therefore, now im stuck and I need my $419 back because thats not fair, nor is it standing behind the Hankook warranty. I have all documents to stand behind me purchasing both times. I need this matter handled ASAP because its been too long already. Tires are so expensive to just not last. Please get this matter handled and help me get some of my money back. On 1.10.23 I got my 2018 ***** CRV inspected at *************************, PA and was told I needed 4 new tires because my car would not pass ** inspection. I brought the Hankook replacement tires (Hankook Kinergy GT AHM Part #*****-HNK-004) on 12.15.2020 for $480.48 plus the mounting, balancing, and 4 wheel alignment which totaled $572.51 with tax . The mileage on 12.15.2020 was ****** and on 1.10.23 was ******, a total of ****** miles on tires rated for 6 years/70,000 miles treadlife. The warranty was the only reason I went with Hankook for the first time ever using this company. I had cars for over 50 years and never have I seen such poor results. The ***** dealer inquired for me about the tire warranty with pictures of the wore tires and the tire tread measurements and was NOT given a reason for the denial. I should have known these tires were defective, when I requested the ***** dealer on 7.20.21 after ***** miles to rotate the tires, the dealer ship stated the that the back tires had less tread than the front so they didn't rotate the tires. I deal only with Piazza ***** dealer and do all the maintence required. In the mean time I brought Michelin tires since I had it with inferior tires and not honoring warranties. I am requesting a cash payment for 2/3 of what I paid for the tires since I only got approximately 1/3 wear. Being a senior citizen on a fixed income, I can't afford to be replacing tires after 2 years.Initial Complaint

I purchases Hankook Kinergy GT tires last September 2021 for my daughters car that have a ***** mile warranty on them so I was shocked when the dealer I purchased them from told be they were at 5/32 after ***** miles and I should start looking for new tires for the winter. I contacted Hankook and even though they admit the tires will not reach the warranty limit of ***** miles they say we must continue to drive them until they wear down to the wear indicators at 3/32. I do not want my daughter driving in ************ winter weather trying to get down to 3/32 as the snow and ice traction starts to degrade below 5/32. They know this and are counting on customers replacing them before 3/32 so they don't have to pay out a warranty claim.Customer Answer

Hankook provides a treadwear warranty which can be utilized once the tire reaches 2/32nds of remaining tread. Hankook allows mileage claims to be submitted at 4/32nds and below; as a way to provide customer's with addition option to replace tires above 2/32nds. Tires measuring at 5/32nds must be worn down to below 4/32nds in order to take advantage of the treadwear warranty.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: The 4/32 tread height appears to be an arbitrary number that can change whenever you talk to them. They told me that I had to wait until the tires were down to 3/32 now it is 4/32. I want to get these tires replaced now at 5/32 before they start to loose snow and Ice traction which will begin below 5/32. The tires have shown much less than the ***** mile advertised tread life and I want to replace them now with tires that are safe in winter driving, which we are in the now, before an accident happens.

I am rejecting this response because: This proves that they just try to wait out customers knowing they do not want to drive on tires that losing tracking in winter weather. This way they customer replaces the ********************** before they get the tread depth that allows them to submit a claim. I had agreed to prorate to the 4/32 depth and that was not accepted. They just try to avoid paying out for tires not meeting the mileage claims and hope you go away. This is exactly what the BBB is here for. They make false mileage claims knowing they can't meet them and then just ignore complaints.

I purchased my first set of Hankook tires for my pickup in 2011. They carried a ****** mile warranty but I only got ****** miles before they needed to be replaced. I replaced them with another set of Hankook tires in 2015 because the warranty would only cover Hankook. This time I got less than ****** miles with a warranty that covered ******. I always rotated the tires at **** miles, kept the correct tire pressure and alignment to specifications. Clearly there is something wrong with these tires.Business Response

The factory tires that came on new vehicles do come with a limited warranty,but not with a mileage or road hazard warranty. In the industry, the market for original equipment tires is different from the replacement tire market, and different warranties are available between them. Typically tire manufacturers do not offer a mileage warranty, road hazard, or 30 day trial program in the original equipment market, but may offer these warranties as incentives for customers to purchase replacement tires.

The first set of Hankook tires that were purchased were adjusted when they only got ******. So I don't know why the manufacturer is responding in this manner. They should be honoring the warranty.

Hankook provides a limited warranty for 6 years from date of purchase or date of manufacture. Whichever benefits consumer. This warranty covers errors from manufacturing or materials used. In order to utilize this warranty; the subject tire must be brought to an authorized Hankook Dealer. For original equipment tires; Hankook recommends returning to the vehicle dealer. The dealer will need to inspect and diagnose the condition. After verifying the concern, they can contact us at ************ option 1 for assistance in processing a warranty replacement. I own a 2021 ****** Rogue with ****** miles. ** 11/3/22, I took my Rogue to a local service dealer for a routine oil change and tire rotation. After the inspection, the technician sent me a detailed video describing how all four Hankook Dynapro tires were at 4/32-5/32 which is well below the safety standard and highly unusual for a car with such low mileage. The technician recommended that all 4 tires be changed right away.That same day, I called Hankook who informed me there was no tread warranty but acknowledged this was unusual and opened a case file. They told me to take the car to where it was originally purchased. I called ****** and they told me they dont deal with tire issues and it needs to be handled by the manufacturer. Hankook requested I have the technician call them to discuss. I offered to send a detailed video from the tech measuring the tread, however, they insisted on speaking to him directly. Over the next 3 weeks, the tech attempted to call but was unable to get through. Because I could not be without a car, I had the tires replaced with a non-Hankook brand, which cost $1,052. Today when I followed up, Hankook agreed to contact the tech themselves. Hankook said that because the tech never called prior to replacing the tires, there was nothing they can do. As a consumer, I'm put into an unfair position where I had to be the middleman between Hankook and the tech. I offered to share all the same documentation the day I was notified of the issue. The individual I spoke to at Hankook never told me to wait on replacing the tires prior to resolution. As mentioned earlier, she acknowledged that it was unusual to have to replace tires at such low mileage. These were clearly defective and now Hankook is finding excuses not to stand behind their product and do the right thing. We respectively request compensation for the defective tires. Purchased brand new car (2022 ****** Sentra SV) August 2022. The tires which are original equipment that being Hankook Kinergy GT 205 60R 16 tires are said to carry a 70K mile warranty as per their website. Tires which have been serviced and rotated every 5K along with the oil changes. Serviced at *************** ***************************************************************** ************** *The problem is the tires are nearly worn out with 3/32 tread left at 25K miles on the tires. Tires are suppose to last 70K. Called Hankook and they told me the tires were not covered in their tire warranty. My warranty booklet that came with the car says they are covered. According to the booklet they are suppose to pro rate the tires and give me credit towards another set of tires. Even the dealership refused to help. The ****** printed booklet is a FRAUD then. Hankook provides a Limited Warranty on OE(Original Equipment). However, this limited warranty does not include treadwear coverage. A mileage warranty is only offered on RE(replacement equipment) tires that are purchased from an authorized Hankook retailer. For warranty details, please see links provided below.
