Our experience with D.R. ********************** during the home-buying process was truly disappointing. They failed to keep their promises and wasted a significant amount of our time. The house we received fell far below the quality standards we were expecting. The bathtub, which was delivered broken, was merely patched up instead of being properly replaced. The windows installed were of very poor quality. Despite reaching out multiple times, they delayed the process and gave us the runaround. There was a huge gap between what was promised before the sale and what was actually delivered. We were left emotionally and financially drained. In the end, all we gained was frustration and lost time.I strongly recommend that anyone considering working with D.R. ********************** think twice before making a decision.D.R. Our experience buying a home with DR ********************** in ************** has been extremely disappointing. The communication was poor, the construction quality was subpar, and the customer service was unprofessional from start to finish. The construction supervisor couldnt answer basic questions about the home yet repeatedly asked for a five-star review, even though major issueslike the improper grading of our yardwere never truly fixed. The realtor provided by DR ********************** constantly sent incorrect paperwork and made unprofessional, even offensive, comments that made the experience uncomfortable for my wife and me.The backyard grading had to be redone multiple times and still looks terrible, with no proper inspection ever taking place despite claims that one happened. We were also given ****** screenshots instead of real answers when asking the title company about the CDDsomething we expected professionals to handle properly.Overall, this has been the worst homebuying experience weve ever had, and I would never recommend DR ********************** to anyone.D.R. FACT: My roof is rotting. Our house is 14 years old and out of warranty. OPINION: ************ uses cheap supplies. FACT: Roof caving in, but the shingles look great. Had to repair roof base in several spots where roof was rotted. We reached out to DR ********************** and they basically told us too bad, thats your problem. No pride in their finished product or reputation at all or they would want to make customers happy. No wonder the reviews are horrible. Im shocked theyve remained in business.STEER CLEAR OF D R HORTON!D.R. Horton America's Builder

Hi ******, With the number of significant storms / hurricanes your home has weathered, homeowner maintenance is required to ensure damages from those storms are made in a timely manner to mitigate long-term damages.Review fromAnthony C

Full documents and screenshots (Evidence) are available if needed 1. Our Original selection of elevation/Color were not saved after being submitted in writing on Nov 3, 2024. We were contacted on Jan ******* to Make our selections (again) & our original choice was no longer available.2. Due to numerous issues with the original plan, we were offered a different build location with an earlier completion date (also came with a $60,000 price increase) and we were quoted a 4.99% promo interest rate as an accommodation. NO mention of a deadline to accept this offer. Interest rate WAS NOT honored. The lower interest rate was the only reason we agreed to the new location AND added price increase.** Bait and Switch Tactic? Very deceptive to dangle 4.99% interest rate in order to get more money out of us, then not honor that rate.3. BASEMENT: Plot plan provided by DR ********************** shows ***** sq ft basement (unfinished) Upon inquiring, it was discovered this was yet ANOTHER mistake. There is no Basement.Included features sheets show Basement details these are listed as included, not optional or- as an add on 4. 2 separate emails to DR ********************** Corporate were sent - NO RESPONSE.5. Received an unsolicited text message from DR ********************** stating they were giving you the rate we told you. I was optimistic they decided to do the right thing and honor the 4.99% that was previously mentioned. This again was a false statement the rate remained unchanged at 5.125%.Over the life of the loan it equates to a $13,000 issue ... ON TOP of the $60,000 price increase.*** ********** station is interested in running a story on these deceptive business practices.D.R. Horton America's Builder

I will preface this review to say that I was the Director for maintenance for 1200 apartments and over 1 million square feet of office building for over 10 years in *******Everything is the cheapest you can buy. I live in a 6 year old Horton house and so far I have had to replace: The roof shingles (as well as 6 other home owners), the siding needed nailing all around the house The stove, the microwave, the kitchen *******, the rug and padding and a couple of light fixtures as well as a couple of light switches. The interior doors are carboard hollow cores that can be purchased at ********** for $25! Sound proofing is inexistent. The windows (no name brand to be found on them, hence cheapest ones available) come without screens and most of the balances (the springs that aide opening and closing the windows) are already broken! Already a couple are fogging up between the two panes! It is unheard off to have to replace a 6 year old shingle roof! All the siding needed to be nailed down because the were flapping in the wind (as well as most home owners that could afford it) The paint is the cheapest paint ******* ******** sells and it is fading in most homes in our 60 House enclave. I have lost count on how many homes have had to repaint their homes ********** don't be fooled into buying a pretty new home from this company. I am now in the process of unloading this house and buying a non cookie cutter stand alone house.D.R. Horton America's Builder

All D.R. ********************** homes are built to meet or exceed local building codes.M. A.

Really? how about 24" distance between studs? is that only in **? How about roof shingles that come off after 6 years? Shoddy work and a coat of paint may meet code but it's a honey trap. Nobody buys a new home and then after 3 years needs to repair and replace components, all this is, is the cheapest construction materials well hidden under the guise of newness.Review fromAdam C

Bought my D.R ********************** home new 4 years ago. Water heater lasted 6 months. The replacement lasted 3 years with proper maintenance . Finally went tankless and out of pocket. Walls are crooked. Screws continue to pop out damaging the Sheetrock. Their sanding of wall joints leave a lot to be desired. Do your inspection with a flashlight and the lights off. Youll see how crappy it is. Now the roof. My pre-closing inspector noted multiple issues with the installation of the roof which were supposedly fixed. Inspected again at 1 year and still issues were present. Which were supposedly fixed again under warranty. Apparently I should have gotten up there myself to watch the roofers work. Throughout the 4 years, my shingles continually fly off the roof with moderate winds. Insurance has denied repair coverage me due to the improper installation. The nails were driven too far into the shingles. Shingles are sliding out of place, floors and ceiling have been damaged throughout my home. The damage and expenses are overwhelming. D.R ********************** warranty has told me to basically kick rocks. Steer clear of them. Buy a home elsewhere or youll go broke with repairs. Just know if you buy one, and decide to sell you will be on the hook for all improper installations when the new buyers inspect. Waste of an investment.D.R. Horton America's Builder

With law suits in every state that DR ********************** has built in BBB still gives them 100%. How can anyone lead people to believe ********************** are great builders? The houses are ****, cheap, and falling apart. Look how much they paid out in the ************** settlement. The BBB should be ashamed of themselves. I'm starting not to trust their ratings now.D.R. DR ********************** will promise you the world to make the sale, then they will cut every corner possible:After selling us our home, DR ********************** abandoned the walking path project directly behind our homeas well as 30+ other homes on our street (thats 30+ families with small children), and instead left the area full of dirt, weeds, wooden stakes, and nails. DR ********************** even had the gall to tell us this was always intended to be a natural area and informed us they will be doing no further work.Meanwhile, they still own the land, refuse to maintain it, and us homeowners are stuck paying HOA fees that supposedly cover maintenance. This isnt the first time theyve backtracked on their promises. Pre-sale, we were told wed have grass in our front yards. Instead, we got barren rock bedsugly, low-maintenance landscaping that clearly saves them money while we continue to pay full maintenance fees. Its clear that DR ********************** will say whatever it takes to close a deal, with no intention of honoring their word once you move in.A dishonest, manipulative company I would never recommend.D.R. Numerous issues reported to the company by my 78 year-old (now 80), recently widowed mother with only 1 issue actually addressed. Beyond that, there was no response within the warranty period. Issues with ******************* air conditioning, uneven floors which have caused her to trip numerous times, paint throughout house, walk-in pantry design flaw with refrigerator space, creeking everywhere upstairs, settling of house causing separation in areas. Everything, down to the toilets, is on the cheap (Ive never seen such horrible new toilet seats!). Numerous neighbors have a variety of issues with their homes due to faulty construction. Class action lawsuits throughout the country speak to this companys fraudulent practices.D.R. Horton America's Builder
