**** has committed to providing services to exterminate mice and rodents. Upon signing the contract, I was told that I would pay $50 every quarter and they would come out every 2 weeks-every quarter to treat the problem. As I explained the nature of the issue and the severity of the mouse problem, they changed the contract. They then increased the initial cost of treatment and changed it to $50 monthly instead of quarterly. They said they would patch and look for entry points, set bait, and come back as often as every 2 weeks until we didn't see any more mice. They have only caught one mouse in two months and have not come to patch anything or check the bait. They are now claiming I need to pay additional fees even though they added mice and rats to the warranty/initial service part of the contract.Business Response

We are sorry for any miscommunications that *** have occurred. The rodent warranty this customer signed up for covers placing traps to help with rodent activity. Any further rodent work such as covering holes is not covered under the general pest control which is what this customer has signed up for. Customer has since spoken with a manager in the office and we have clarified that complimentary inspections are covered under the warranty however, we do not currently have a technician in the area certified to do the inspection or the exclusion work. We are working on getting this service set up and will be following up with the customer to get them on the schedule for an inspection and we have set up a complimentary follow up service as well to help with the rodent activity and replace traps.Customer Answer

July 12th A door to door salesman came to my home trying to obtain me as a customer for pest **********************. I had told him several times I was not interested and he said they could come out tomorrow to do a 1 time application for $39. I went ahead and agreed since it was $20 less than I normally pay. The catch is I had to pay in advance now but assured me they could come tomorrow. There was never any discussion as to a contract. They showed up and 4 months later I noticed they were charging my card $60 for aug, *********** I called them talked to a representative & said they need to stop billing my card and owe me $180. She asked for my email and said she was sending the agree. It was a full on year contract. I would have never signed a contract for these type of services. Conveniently my signature is right there. The only thing that was presented to me was a signature screen for the payment for the next day service. I let the rep know all of this and she didn't care nothing she can do. I said why don't you check into it because it's seems very scandalous to me and could just be that the salesperson was the one dishonest. She was not interested and said cannot stop pmts or I would get an early termination fee. Now I'm even more frustrated. I asked for a supervisor and she said she was a supervisor. I asked for a ************* said it will not matter they will tell me the same thing. I demanded her supervisor and again nobody available. Not willing to send me to their voicemail or anything. This now makes me feel I was scammed by this company. Now I have been sent to a collection agency that will ruin my credit and for early termination fee + late fees. They have already gotten $180 from me without my permission. I am not asking for refund for the unauthorized $180, they just need to take responsibility and stop lying to people and stealing their $Business Response

Customer signed up for services on July 11th, 2022. A copy of this signed agreement was emailed to the client and another copy was put on their account with us.
The initial service was then performed the following day on July 12th, 2022 and it is common practice for the technician to review this agreement with the client at that time. Customer emailed in on September 14th with questions about why they were being charged and **** responded explaining monthly billing to the client. We did not hear anything further about this so the customers next quarterly service was performed on October 6th, 2022. The 3 payments the customer made went toward this service. The customer then called in on December 9th, 2022 asking to close their account. Within the signed agreement it states "The first service performed on a home has a standard cost of $349.00. An initial treatment costing less than $349.00 is based on a minimum (12) twelve month agreement as indicated above. If service is canceled prior to fulfilling ***************-month agreement by refusing to receive or pay for service as indicated in the above calendar and pricing, for any reason, the customer agrees to pay the difference between $349.00 and the discounted price for the initial treatment."
At that time the account was closed per the customers request and the conditional discount of $310.00 was applied to the account. We have not heard from the client after that date and approximately 90 days after the client cancelling the account, it has been sent to a 3rd party collections agency. We would be happy to continue working with this customer should they call back in and fulfill the agreement we entered into together.Initial Complaint

I hired ALTA Pest Control to service my parents house and now I'm regretting hiring them. They have not only not returned my monthly charges charged thus far but also did not return my initial $250 to treat German ***** infestation. That's a lot of money to pay for service not received as per the agreement. **** was well aware of not just basic pest issues but also of severe German ***** infestation and yet they did not provide the service the house needed to get rid of the pests. Upon reviewing the service provided, product used and how the service was done from day 1, I decided to have an open discussion with the manager and request for a more thorough German ***** service to be done but that conversion soon turned into an argument from the service providers side. He did eventually agree to be a little more thorough and right when we thought they will maintain this level of service at least quarterly, they decided to pull back and be a no show on many occasions.Upon me calling their office, the manager there put up a fight with my mom and I then my sister and canceled our service and did not return the $250 saying that we have used product worth that much at your house already so we are keeping this money. The monthly charged was not all returned to us either. Sad part is, after canceling the first time, they tried to get us back and we stupidly signed up again with the hope that their newly made promises for better service will help clear our house of pests but Alta pest control yet again, was a no show. Not even once did they come back after reinstating and still have not return the $250. My parents house is still infested with German roaches and other insects but **** has called it quits and taken a good chunk of our money without completing the job. I am extremely disappointed with alta pest control. This company has taken our money and has not provided the services as per the agreement. This is bad business and a loss for us.Business Response

Customer received their initial service on November 9th, 2022. At that time, ************** treated for German Roaches as well. This initial service normally costs $349.00 and the customer received a conditional discount bringing the price down to $250.00. Customer has also received 2 warrantied services as well. Within the agreement this customer signed, they agreed to pay back this discount should they request to cancel prior to completing the full year. Due to the issues this customer has had and us wanting to help in any way we can, we have refunded the 4 recurring charges of $45.00 each. The $250.00 the customer has paid was for the service and warrantied services received. We have also waived the conditional discount this customer received to help us part ways on positive terms.Initial Complaint

refund for the over charge of what was agreed upon by sales person. I should have only been charged ***** three times within a year and I have been charged 6 times(every month thus far). With that said they didn't even technically follow what I signed as it stated I would be charged *****. They said that I should adhere to what was signed and I said they should adhere to what the sales person advised I signed when I questioned the tablet (signed on a tablet) that should a charge each month and then a *** for specialty quarterly - which when I double checked and asked he stated that due to I was only getting rodent service then I would only be charged on the months with the *** and he showed me on the contract where rodents were under ***.DO NOT USE / DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING!!!! BAIT AND SWITCH / SCAM!!!!! Door to door salesman "sold" me on ****** services (if you can call this - dropped off a bait box that doesn't need serviced but checked for bail 6 months in) which he showed me on the contract was to be billed quarterly. However, they immediately began to bill monthly, in which each time I called they stated they would fix. Eventually, when charged the full service of the year within three months the discussion changed to a refund, which was offered but not received (but instead charged again). Now they have sent a "new year contract" requesting signature and then they will process the refund of the overcharge or advised I could cancel but would owe the "cancellation fee". I think each month they just tried to keep me satisfied enough so they could charge my card again. I have cancelled the card, blocked them from charging and filed a dispute through my card. At this point, I am not even sure if the "rodent" hotel is a scam as well. So disappointing!...Business Response

On 9/24/22 a salesman came to my home. I thought the contract I signed was for $349 plus tax. $60 was to be billed for the initial payment, and $26,27 monthly. Instead, $60 was billed for the first installment and $48.87.**** explained I signed a contract for the $60 initial installment and $45 monthly (plus tax) To get out of the contract, $289 was billed to my Discover card for breaking the contract. The salesman misrepresented the terms of the contract and I signed the contract outside my home without checking the math of the monthly charges.Alta Pest Control is dishonest and FRADULENT.FYI - all charges from them have been paid. $60 + ****** (Oct-Feb) and $289 (fee for breaking contract) Total to have my house sprayed for bugs September 2022 thru February, 2023 = $593.35.I'd like to save others from this headache.Business Response

Customer signed up for a year contract. On September 24th, 2022 when customer signed up for services, a copy of this agreement was emailed to the customer. This agreement outlines how much will be paid per month for the entirety of the year. The initial service originally costs $349.00 but where this customer had signed up for a year contract we were able to give them a conditional discount of $289.00 in good faith they would stick with us for a full year. Where this customer has requested to close out their account, we ask they pay back the conditional discount. However, we would be happy to continue working with this customer should they decide to finish the agreement we entered into together.Initial Complaint

After reviewing this customers account, this customer is on our quarterly service but on monthly billing. This means the customer is billed over the course of 3 months for their quarterly service, not at the time of service. This customer is not on automatic payments so payments are only charged after receiving approval from the customer or the customer can make those payments online at their convenience. We have their billing set up so their invoices are pending within that first week of each month as the customer has requested. if the customer is unable to be there at the time of the original quarterly service we have options for complimentary services in between each quarterly visit. Our services are typically exterior only, however interior service is covered under the warranty.Customer Answer

Hired Alta Pest Control based off of a social media add claiming to offer a $99 inspection and treatment. End up hiring them to spray outside/inside of my house, and spray around my shop. The initial treatment ended up being $130 and was told it was more due to the size of my house. I signed a contract for that initial treatment and 4 subsequent treatments of $169 for them to spray outside my house and 10 ft into the yard, the inside of my house, and the outside of my shop. they agreed to spray outside/inside of the house and outside of shop... plus 10ft into the yard from house. The first treatment ($130) took about 25 min and the guy sprayed outside of my house and the outside of my yard. He said he wasn't going inside because the first visit wasn't a treatment, but that they were just baiting around the outside of the house to see what kind of bugs showed up. and that they would be back in 30 days to treat for whatever showed up. so the first $130 treatment wasn't a treatment at all... was just an inspection which isn't what I was promised. The next appointment was approximately 30 days later and there were bugs everywhere. they didn't call and schedule with me, so the guy showed up when i wasnt there. Luckily i have cameras around me house. He walked partially around the outside of the house spraying at the base of the outside wall. Did not put pellets or anything else down on the ground 10ft out from my house like I was told. Said because it was raining and it wouldn't do any good. Did not come inside, did not spray the shop, and did not knock down wasps nests. i had to call and complain to get him to come back and spray inside. The next appointment they scheduled, sprayed outside, spread pellets, and then left. The next appointment, the tech showed up, sprayed outside, dropped pellets, and then left. They never did what they were contracted to do. now they want me to pay a fee of $100 to cancel my contract and skip the last appointment.Business Response

Within the agreement this customer signed on February 11th, 2022, it states, " If we are unable to service a property in its entirety due to locked gates, pets outside, or any other scenario caused by the client, we will service what we are able to and you will be charged for the full service. **** will return free of charge to finish servicing the property upon notification from the client that we are able to." If the customer felt there was a portion of the service that was missed within reason, we are able to come back out at no extra cost to make sure it is taken care of. ******** services are not typically part of the quarterly service but it is covered under the warranty so we are able to treat it upon request. Customer called in and let us know they no longer wanted to be serviced from us therefore the conditional discount that was given during their initial service has been applied to their account. We would love to avoid this and continue working with this customer should they call in to finish their agreement.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: there were no barriers keeping them from treating the agreed upon areas. I was sold one thing and now that I want to discontinue using them, I have been told something else. Was never told inside treatment wasnt quarterly. There are no locked gates, no animals roaming around, and anytime I called to complain and get someone to come back out, I had to take more time off of work to go babysit and make sure that their technician provided the service I was contracted for. I paid a very high premium rate for a premium service, and received subpar service. In the end, I purchased my own chemicals and sprayed my property myself. They treated inside once, and never again after that. I had to spray window seals and door frames monthly to keep bugs out. Based on all of this information, why would I continue to pay for a service that I didnt receive. I have no interest in continuing to do business with them. As for the contract, per ******** law, that was voided when they failed to provide the service that I was paying for.

Complaint: 18854386
I am rejecting this response because: I have given them more than enough opportunities to provide the service that I contracted for. They have failed on all but 1 time, and I had to be there and follow the technician around. When I called I was told the technicians that serviced my property were no longer employed by them. The problem with calling them to come back out to correct the lack of service, is that I have to take more time off work to come babysit their technician. I dont have time for that, and theyve proven that they cant be trusted to do the job unsupervised. I have paid them for more that theyve provided and Im not giving them any additional money. If they keep pushing, I will take legal action to not only end the contract without additional cost, but also get reimbursed for the part of the contract that Ive paid for without getting the promised service. They agave sent me an invoice for a $90 cancellation charge. The only solution I will accept is waiving the cancelation fee and canceling the contract. After all the problems and poor service, its pretty ridiculous for them to keep pushing for me to pay for one more treatment or pay a cancellation fee.

Complimentary services can be scheduled on days that work best for the customer, so we can work around work schedules. We also have the option to personalize the customers account so all of our technicians are aware of what the customer would like done at each completed service. If the customer does not want to receive further services then we ask the conditional discount that was given during their initial service be paid back as agreed upon in the signed agreement.Customer Answer

Complaint: 18854386
I am rejecting this response because: I have made several attempts to get the company to complete the service as agreed upon in the contract. When I responded to the posted add, it was for reduced rate for the initial treatment and I was told be the representative that he made a note on my account that the technician would treat the outside of my house, the inside of my house, and the outside of my shop. First... the initial appointment wasn't a treatment. They put down a bait to draw the bugs out and scheduled the first treatment for 30 days later. That's not what the add said and that's not what the rep explained to me. So I paid for a treatment that didn't happen. I called and complained. I was told my rep explained it to me wrong and nothing was done to fix it. After the first treatment (not complete) I complained and the technician scheduled a time and came back out and did what I contracted for but was rude about it and told me that I needed to talk to my rep because my account didn't have all the things listed I was expecting. I called my rep again, and he assured me he would make a note in my account and make sure everything was done on the next treatment. On the next treatment, I had to follow the technician around and after an hour, he stopped and said he had been there too long and had to leave. which is exactly what I was told on the 3rd treatment. So if their not allotted enough time to do what the contract says, why would I continue to schedule appointments and take off work. After the second appointment, I purchased granules to put in my yard, and spray to spray my door frames, window seals and around my shop. I still have wasp nests around my house that I was told would be removed. And your professional response to me not wanting to pay for another incomplete treatment or babysit one of your technicians, is for me to give you a chance to fix it? You haven't completed the service that I contracted for and paid for. You mislead me with false advertising. and instead of trying to make this right, you're hiding behind a contract and trying to extort me for more money. You failed to complete the services for my contract. I have called and complained multiple times and only once did a technician come back out and try to resolve the issue. The other times, I was told I misunderstood the terms of the contract. I was told spraying outside alleviates the need to spray inside, and that your technicians don't really go into houses and that they aren't sure why the sales rep told me that you would. Seems like you have a problem with deceitful sales reps and unreliable technicians. I was also told the various technicians that had treated my house weren't employed with you anymore. And all i asked for was to end the contract and not pay for an additional service. I have been spraying myself, so it makes no sense to take off work, and pay someone else to do a job they didn't do the 4 previous times they came to my house. I have worked in customer service for a long time, and I'm shocked by the lack of willingness to make this right.

I am rejecting this response because: the last time i heard from Alta to try and resolve this issue was in the month of March. During the Month's of March, April and part of May, i received multiple calls a day threatening with send my account to collections and each week that went by, the amount I supposedly owed increased. I've been told i owe anywhere from $80 to almost $200. I finally received a letter from a collections company in May for a ridiculous amount. I am open to a phone call from someone at Alta that isn't going to play games or threaten me. my office number is **************, But honestly the only viable solution is to end this situation with nothing owed and both parties go their separate ways. I did more than required to try and get Alta to fullfill their end of our agreement, and outside of wasting even more time and more money trying to babysit their techs, i don't see any other solution.

Customer signed up for a quarterly service on September 22nd, 2022. When this customer signed up, they agreed to pay monthly for the quarterly service. We have their account set up for future payments to be charged shortly after the 1st as requested. Should this customer decide to close out their account prior to completing a full years worth of service, which is 4 quarterly services, we ask they pay back the conditional discount that was given during their initial visit as stated within the signed agreement. Within the signed agreement, it is stated "Payment shall be due every 30 days while services shall be performed according to the approximate schedule illustrated above. Checkmarks indicate approximate months when regularly scheduled maintenance
services will take place." The schedule within the agreement shows services will be performed quarterly while payments are made monthly. Fleas are covered under the ************ agreement and if any services are needed in between the regularly scheduled visits we are able to come back out at no extra cost to the customer.Customer Answer

I do not want these people on my property at all. I do not want to pay them another dime for services rendered that I am having worse problems now since theyve been on my property and Ive had rodents on my property since theyve been on my property and I did not want them on this property no more

I am rejecting this response because:Ive complained about all the service before they overdraw my account. I continue to pay them they stopped coming on the routine they were supposed to come to my house on and every time theyve sprayed from the beginning its caused the worst problem I had to treat my home with two different kinds of treatments to get rid of the bugs because they made it worse. They caused fleas to be worse and I had others new bug problems all the sudden. . I dont know what they did, but I didnt want them back on the property when then after I had rodents and Ill kinds of stuff I didnt want them coming back to my house. They talked me in the spraying yet again a couple of months ago and told me they didnt care about the money I owe them they just want to help you get rid of the problem they lied to me because I was making a payment on them not the full payment but I was making payment because I didnt feel like I should be making a full payment when they werent giving me the full service agreement and they didnt get rid of nothing. They made it worse so I did not want them on this property. The owner did not want them back on the property. I was trying to pay them off I owe them $93 and now theyre saying I owe than 400 and something dollars and they sent my bill to collections even though I never stop making any payments to them and theyre saying I didnt make payments for five months thats why dis they just spray here two months ago. Theyre lying. Desired Resolution: Billing Adjustment

I got roped into doing business with this company due to a door to door salesman who came by my house four times in one day. I was eventually coerced into signing a contract with them, and was told I would be getting monthly service, and it would be $50 per month. I have not had the technicians come out to my house except for one time since I signed this contract. I keep getting emails that I owe hundreds of dollars to this company, after I changed my payment information because I was not happy with the services, I felt coerced into getting into business with these people to begin with, and wanted to cancel this contract. I have reached out to them on several occasions, attempting to cancel to no avail. They keep telling me I owe them hundreds of dollars and they will also be a couple hundred dollar cancellation fee, and they keep calling and emailing and harassing me every single day, but wont do anything to help me with this account and cancellationBusiness Response
