I would give a 0 star rating but have to do a 1. This company had a debt of mine, and while I made many attempts through their website to address the situation they NEVER responded to any of my requests. Now the courts have allowed a garnishment to proceed, and they come out on top. I tried to get a plan in place etc., yet nothing ever happened. I also never got the court filing for the Jan 2025 hearing, so clearly the garnishment email from my employer which has no supporting documents was a shock. They are predatory and notorious for putting out false information when speaking to them via phone. This is specifically why I wanted any communication via email. This company and all others who deal with these matters should be held accountable for their terrible practices.Scott & Associates, P.C.

Thank you for providing feedback. We apologize that you feel you came away with a negative experience in your interactions with us. We disagree that we acted improperly. We fully comply with all applicable consumer protection laws. A review of your file indicated that we sent several resolution emails before the court date and tried to contact you after receiving your January email. Remember, both you and our client need to come to a resolution for an agreement to be reached. Regarding the court hearing, the court sent notice directly to the parties, which you knew about because you acknowledged the hearing in your January email. Should you have any other concerns, we would be happy to discuss them at ************** between the hours of 8:00AM and 6:00PM CT Monday Friday.Review fromKhammalay H

1 starHonestly the worst. Just got sued by them. Emailed them multiple times and even called and can't get a hold of a solid person. Trying to negotiate a payment with them. I am currently not working and have not found work and want to make small payments to pay off my debt. They are hard to reach and now I am getting sued by these cowards.Review fromJoyce P

They will not help me resolve getting online access. I have tried speaking with 6 different people over a 6 week period. They are sure quick to take my money, but won't help me to get to the online payment portal. Do not expect too much assistance from these people.Scott & Associates, P.C.

1 starScott and Associates have been suing me for a debt that is 12 yrs or older. We went to court about this credit card debt that I know had been written off since it had been so long ago. We went to court and the court ruled that my income was not enough to warrant a garnishment. Well three or four years goes by and not to my surprise they rear their ugly head again on the SAME credit card debt except this time they had my bank freeze my bank account until ******* was deposited in my account to UNFREEZE my account. I had to borrow the money to deposit ******* in my account only to find out that a month later that ******* is still there but I do not have access to it. So another court date is approaching and this time I will be there to dispute this case YET AGAIN. You cannot tell me there is no statute of limitations on a credit care debt that is 12 + years old. Scott and Associates I am sick of your constant harassment on this debt and if you're waiting for me to sign off on giving up my ******* you will be waiting a long time. You made me borrow and deposit money that you apparently don't need or else you would have taken it. You are CRIMINALS!!! and should be treated as such.Review fromKELLY C

1 starDon't waste your time with these people. They don't respond to your messages. They lie. If I could give zero stars I would. Hire ****** Legal and let them handle these clowns. Will cost a fraction of what these thieves will try to get. Read the reviews folks. They don't care about you or your condition. Have cancer and had a heart attack and these folks just ignore you. Told them I could only afford so much because I'm out of work and below the poverty line even when I do work. Messaged them numerous times with zero response. tried to pay what I could but their site wont allow that. They want you to sign an agreement after being sued. Sign absolutely nothing. Document everything with photos and times that you tried to contact them. Document every single conversation.Review fromMorgan C

1 starTo Whom It May Concern,I am writing regarding the fraudulent debt claim made against me by Portfolio Recovery Associates, as well as the illegal actions taken by Scott and Associates in attempting to collect this alleged debt.Let me be absolutely clear: I do not owe this debt, and I am formally disputing its validity. The debt you claim is mine was fraudulently created, and I have no obligation to pay it. Despite my repeated requests, you have failed to provide any legitimate documentation proving that this debt is valid or that I am responsible for ***** continuing to pursue this fraudulent claim, you are violating multiple federal laws, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and potentially the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) by reporting inaccurate information on my credit report. Your actions constitute harassment and misrepresentation of the debt, and I will not tolerate any further attempts to collect on this illegitimate claim. This is your final warning. Cease all collection attempts, remove the fraudulent debt from my credit report, and confirm in writing that this matter is resolved.Failure to comply with this demand will result in legal proceedings against both Portfolio Recovery Associates and Scott and Associates.Sincerely,Review fromSuzanne F

I submitted a request for Debt Validation. i percieve they are debt collectors that purchased a charged off and non collectable debt by/from the orignal creditor. I suspect they are currently trying to sell this account to another collection agency which will remain on my credit report and worst show up as another deliquent account further effecting my credit score. For this step i am reporting them here on the BBB the next step will be to the Fair Debt Collection, if they don't cease and desist.Scott & Associates, P.C.

1 starThey make it impossible to talk with anyone and even make a settlement. I filled out the part online to make a settlement and no response at all. I'm widowed and only have social security and a small pension from my husband! I know I owe a debt and am wanting to make it right but I think they really want me to not be able to contact them and make an offer. I believe they really want to freeze our accounts. These people are scavengers. wicked. I just want to make it right but they don't. they see an opportunity to hijack the misfortune. This I will fight. when I can afford to. these people are the bottom of the barrel. I really wanted to settle and hoped to speak with someone and tell why my debt had occurred. My husband was sick and dying. He now has passed away and they are coming after me full force. by not working with me by not answering my negotiation amount. .****************************** ********** Texas This is real people. They use the legal system to fight dirty. they are fighting dirty because they just ignore your settlement agreement. not even discussing or negotiating with you. Then it looks like to the court or judge you didn't answer the summons.
