2 starsI have worked out a payment agreement with S&A, P.C. but they are extremely difficult to get a hold of. Calling their number takes me to the sound of static 9/10 times rather than the automated navigation menu. I have submitted questions to their website and received no responses, either, though in times when I have gotten through someone on the phone, they confirmed they received my inquiries. No doubt there are tons of questions coming in, but I've sent in maybe 2 or 3 as of a month ago and did not receive any reply. The payment agreement was not ideal either, but that's a different issue, and not the fault of the people who got it set up for me.Review fromJamelle C

Scott & Associates does not try to contact you to work out payment options. They prefer to **** I have emailed them several times to work out a payment arrangement. No response. *********************** Debt Settlement has also contacted them to workout out a reasonable settlement but of course they refused it and counter offer with a ridiculous amount. If I could payoff the full amount I would. Thats the reason for working with *********************** to get a reasonable payment plan. I tried asking for a payment arrangement before it got to Scott & Associates but of course I never heard from the original creditor which leaves me to believe they are all working together to ruin the client by not responding or granting reasonable options.Scott & Associates, P.C.

To be fair, I owed the debt. They did work with me on a payment plan at first, but due to a death in the family and super complicated financial issues, I defaulted on that payment plan which then led to a bank levy. I had never been through anything like that and was having a difficult time understanding the process. However, I did not have trouble getting ahold of them, they were willing to take the time to explain things to me, and they even worked with me on a method of payment when my accountant was unable to get to the bank to do a wire transfer. I know people (including myself) tend to shoot the messenger and get mad at the debt collector, but theyre just doing their jobs. I found the people I spoke with at Scott & Associates to be quite helpful, especially considering when I first contacted them about the bank levy, my temper was flaring and I was a complete b**ch. They were also easy to reach after the payment had been made in full, and even encouraged me to contact them if I had any additional questions. I must hand it to them for being able to remain cool and collected when people are likely yelling at them all day. I appreciated their patience and their willingness to help me understand the process.Scott & Associates, P.C.

This company filed a complaint with the Superior Court of Los Angeles County. I did a research and found that the papers were not filed. I spoke to a debt collector from that firm. He agreed to settle the debt lower than the amount claimed. I asked for settlement agreement and this man said he will send it subsequent to giving him my bank account *************************** and ****************** did not provide an agreement but a letter was sent to me showing a payment schedule over the amount that was agreed to.The debt collector informed me that they will send an agreement. This agreement was not provided and there are no signed documents.Scott & Associates, P.C.

Thank you for providing feedback. We strive to ensure that our interactions with consumers are always professional and appropriate. We treat all allegations of misconduct with the utmost importance. We investigated your concerns and were unable to verify all of your concerns as alleged. Our records indicate that the lawsuit was filed on April 24th. Regarding the payment arrangement to resolve the matter, the representative offered a discounted lump sum payment option. Unfortunately, you indicated that you would not be able to do the lump sum. The representative then discussed two monthly payment options on the outstanding balance with you. You agreed to a $300/mo. payment arrangement on the outstanding balance. We apologize, but it appears the payment schedule you received was mailed separately and before the payment agreement was mailed to you last week. Hopefully the payment agreement arrives soon. Should you not receive the payment agreement in the next couple of days or you have any other questions, please contact our offices at ************** between the hours of 8:00AM and 6:00PM CT Monday Friday. **** company is not ethical and does not deliver on the promises of their representatives. Even if you pay your debts in full. I was never contacted EVER regarding my debt. I watched as the balance slowly increased over the years and I was unable to get ahold of them. After several hours on the phone I determined that Scott & Associates now owns my debt. I called in and was transferred around to several departments and several rude and unprofessional people. **** is ancient zombie debt that they own. I called to pay in full plus interest, shortly after I paid the FULL AMOUNT quoted by the rep. **** firm then sent me a letter with a slightly elevated balance stating that this is a settlement. **** is not a settlement, I have paid in full. They do this to try and make you sign an agreement with them that you will not *** them. There is no agreement, I paid my debt in full, they accepted payment under the terms that I was paying my balance in full. You cannot arbitrarily increase my balance after the phone call and tell me I am settling. I expect a full refund or I expect this to be removed from my credit.Scott & Associates, P.C.

We apologize that you had difficulty in reaching us. Thank you for your payment. Your file is now closed as paid in our office. A letter confirming this was mailed to you at your current address earlier this week. As to credit reporting, again, we do not credit report. However, your payment has been communicated to our client. Please contact the credit bureaus directly. To clarify, we do not own the debt, we were retained by our client, ***************** for legal collections. ***************** is the current creditor. Regarding your other concerns, we respectfully deny any wrongdoing. We tried contacting you by mail. Nothing was ever returned as undeliverable. Our representatives were professional on the call. As to the payment agreement you received, it was simply to memorialize the verbally agreed upon lump sum payment for your records. Your unwillingness to sign the agreement as written is fine. Paragraph 1 reads that you agreed to pay the amount you paid to resolve the matter. As to an alleged balance discrepancy, the judgment continued to accrue post-judgment interest at the statutory rate until satisfied. The written agreement ended up getting generated the next day, which is the reason for the $0.86 difference in the outstanding judgment balance, but the agreed upon lump sum payment amount remained the same. Again, you paid as agreed so this is a non-issue. Should you have any other questions or concern, please contact us at ************** between the hours of 8:00AM and 6:00PM CT Monday Friday. My sister died and they still filed an Abstract of Judgment against her. Shows how much they research. Good luck at collecting it.Scott & Associates, P.C.

We are sorry to hear about your sister. Once judgment enters, unless we get notified, we dont typically know when a consumer has recently passed. If we are notified that a consumer has recently passed, a deceased review is performed. Upon verification, collections cease and the file is closed. Without any more information we are unable to assist further.Review fromUnhappy C

You work with them on one thing and suddenly they find more. I believe they deliberately search out items for someone who has agreed to pay them just so they can get more and more money out of you. I am paying what I can on three accounts and now suddenly three more suddenly pop up. Can't pay more than what I have so maybe they should stop buying debts.Scott & Associates, P.C.

Thank you for your feedback. Please know that we do not buy debt, We represent a variety creditors for legal collections and so there is the possibility that we are retained by different creditors, at different times, for multiple debts belonging to the same consumer. It appears that we currently represent several of your creditors, but were retained at different times. That is why you are seeing us contact you about additional debts. We thank you for paying on those accounts and understand your concerns. Should you have any additional questions, please call us or at ************** between the hours of 8:00AM and 6:00PM ** Monday Friday. This communication is from a debt collector.Review fromTiffany d
