Southwest ************* bookings are awful. We booked a hotel and paid in full. When we arrived at the hotel we were told Southwest never sent the hotel the money. I called the support number and was told they could see that the money was never sent. They told us to pay the hotel again and they would reimburse us. They even sent an email stating this. After multiple phone calls and sending copies of requested receipts multiple times they promised to call us. We have never hear anything back from them. We will **** **** them again.

I wish I didn't have to do this because this company was good to us at the beginning. Long story short, we had scheduled a quick family outing. But something to where I was hospitalized for 3 days and could not got on the outing under a doctor's supervision. So my wife is in a back and forth with canceling so they kept giving here the usual run around blues. All we want are our points back and our money back but no one has dare to reply

I wish I could leave 0 stars. I attempted to use a gift card when booking a flight on Southwests website, but the site failed to apply it. As a result, the full amount was charged to my bank account. I immediately canceled the booking and received an email confirming that my refund was on the way. According to Southwests own policy, refunds are processed within 7 business days. However, after 7 business days passed with no refund or pending transaction, I called customer service. I was told to wait 10 business days. I waited again and was told 14 business days. After 17 business days, I called once more and was then told 30 business ******* that point, I insisted the representative take a closer look. Only then was it discovered that my refund request was never processed at alldespite the confirmation email I received weeks earlier. The representative re-processed the refund, but now Ive been told Ill have to wait another 30 business days, meaning Ill be waiting over 60 days total to receive a refund for a mistake that was entirely on Southwests end. This is unacceptable. A clear system error followed by inconsistent and misleading customer service responses has left me without hundreds of dollars for over two months. I expected more from an airline Ive trusted for years.

My connecting flight was moved up and hour two hours before, and I was still on my first flight when they started boarding. When I expressed concern about making my connecting flight, the flight attendant dismissed me and didn't offer any help to get off the plane more quickly.I asked a woman at the terminal for help and she yelled at me for expecting her to see something nearby that I was pointing at, because she was wearing glasses. Are glasses supposed to fix that problem? On my way home my connecting flight was delayed 3 hours and I didn't get home until 5am- I had to go to work at my very involved job with no sleep.Personally I thought the snacks were gross but *shrug.*Other than that people were generally nice but these experiences made my overall experience pretty poor.

Im extremely disappointed in my recent experience with Southwest Airlines. While trying to book a last-minute flight to attend my grandmothers funeral, I attempted to use my *****+ Rapid Rewards points and $162 flight credit. The website said I didnt have enough points to apply them, so I spent $60 to buy ***** more points. I still couldnt use them, so I spent another ~$60 to buy ***** ******* that point, I had over ***** points, but when I proceeded to check out, Southwest only allowed me to apply ***** points (about $99) and charged me $299.60 out of pocket. In total, I spent almost $600 for a one-way domestic flight from ******* to Philadelphiaafter applying my points and credit.I called Customer Relations immediately and was told there was nothing they could do because policy states you need enough points to fully cover the fare. But none of that was clearly disclosed on the website before purchasing points, and the fare kept changing during checkout. I would never have spent over $120 on points had I known theyd be mostly unusable.I explained I was traveling for a funeral and was simply trying to use the credits and points I already earnedonly to end up overpaying under misleading conditions. Still, no help or compassion was offered. This experience left me feeling taken advantage of during an already difficult time. I submitted formal complaints by email and through Southwests site, but have not received a ************* asking Southwest to take responsibility and refund or credit me for the points I purchased under false pretenses. I expected better from a company known for customer care.

Suitcase was completely destroyed, the entirety of the bottom shredded open to the point where my clothing was exposed. Upon trying to contact a baggage support specialist via email, I was told I need the original receipt of the suitcase in order to resolve the matter. My suitcase was purchased from ********** back in 2016. I even called ********** to try and find the original receipt- to which they responded we dont carry receipt information from that long ago. It is evident this requirement is used as a get out of jail free card for SouthWest. So not only did I pay to transport my luggage (40$ I believe), but I pretty much paid for them to completely destroy it, and then refuse any sort of blame, nor refunding. Had to buy a whole new one. The lack of leadership, management skills, and customer service is abysmal. Its almost as if they train employees to scam their consumers out of as much money as possible- and to stay silent, and/or unhelpful in times of customer issue and distress. The good news for me? Ive amassed over 10k worth of flight with a direct competitor Who have treated me with the basic decency as a customer. No bags destroyed, no horrid customer service, nope! Run from this ********************** like the plague. Seriously.

I wish I could give ZERO stars. I flew Southwest on Sunday. Made sure to book my flight so I could make it home on the last boat (I live on an island). As we were about to take off from *********, we were told that the plane was broken and we had to go back to the dock. We were also told that they did not have enough fuel so this had to be done as well. We literally sat on the plane for 2 hours. No updates. Just 2 workers who kept walking up and down. No snacks or drinksnwere offered until the last minute. We just sat and sat and sat. Issue after issue. Why were we even made to get on a plane that was not checked prior to loading people???? Why was the plane not pumped with fuel beforehand? I ended up having a panic attack due to claustrophobia. Nobody cared. I was then unable to catch my last boat and was forced to stay in a hotel. I demanded compension which was refused by the airline. The arrogant lady from headquarters kept offering me a $150 voucher for SW. After I explained I'd NEVER fly them again. She just would not budge. I was told that the delay has to be 3 or more hours and ours was only 2. No remorse for completely s******* up my day. I had to spend $157 on a hotel and $70 on an ***** They don't care. DISGUSTING SERVICE ALL AROUND.

Been sitting on a plane for 5 hours for a 1 hour flight. I get that it was diverted due to weather but we just got the excuse for the wait.... "A minor paperwork issue" is what has held us here with no food or drink for hours on end.Go with a different airline. Southwest used to have its act together but that was in the 90's. Dont bother at this point.

I had the worst experience flying with Southwest Airlines. My family of five travels together with one large luggage to keep things simple and convenient. However, on our return flight, they charged us an extra $200 because our luggage was exceeding the standard size by just 5 inches. This is absolutely ridiculous! We could have easily checked in 5 smaller bags, each included in the price, but that would have taken up more space in the compartment and added more weight making this policy clearly about squeezing more money out of customers, not about space or weight. To make matters worse, we weren't charged this fee on the flight in, but only on the way out. They claimed they changed the policy during our vacation, which felt like a total scam. This is pure corporate greed! I will never fly with Southwest again. Avoid this airline at all costs they are nothing but scammers and crooks!
