*** never did business with Santander. I purchased a vehicle in 2016 from ***********. As soon as I got the car home the check engine light came on. I ended up negotiating with Gateway One about the condition of the vehicle engine. Long story short, they went out of business and Santander purchased the loan years after I was already done with them. I never received any notice that Santander was the new lender because it was years after the loan wasnt even on my credit report. This vehicle sat at the repair shop for 3 years waiting for an engine, last Sept a tree fell and totaled vehicle. After speaking with insurance company they said Santander now has a lien on my truck. *** never did business with Santander and they dont have a signed agreement saying that they have permission to pay Santander. So the check is just sitting there. Santander agreed to accept $1000 and then sent another letter demanding the entire amount of the insurance check once they found out truck had been totaled. But *** never done business with them and plus the state of limitations have passed. I spoke to **** over at Corporate who was to confirm that the statues of limitations have passed, which she obviously did confirm, because all communication stopped after that phone call and she wont take any of my calls. Id like to remove Santander and receive my payment from my car. They cant collect because they are NOT listed as the owner.Business Response

I lost my job and got behind on my payments and my payments are ****** a month but still made a partial payment between ****** and ****** every month on the3rd for about 3 months. I have got a new job now and Santander has mailed me a letter saying if I dont pay ****** they are coming after my car. I have til the 12th to pay it and if they will give me to the 23rd of April I will have it paid up and possibly another payment ahead. Please help me. On 3/10/2025 I made a payment by phone for $1,369.69 to my account. Today I get an alert on my credit report I'm 30 days late on my vehicle payment, knowing I just made a double payment last month 3/10/25 I thought there is no way I'm late so I log into my account and they have me down for 51 days late, I make another dble payment and call customer service about the "missing payment" and was told they never received it. I told the person on the phone that it was drafted out of my account on the 10th at 1501 by Starmark Financial using my debt card. I have the proof it was taken out of my account thru my bank statements. I was told that the payment wasn't received again and I needed to make an inquiry with my bank. So now my credit report took a major hit and I have to somehow prove that I made a payment. I have the transactions on my statements, but they can't find the transaction.Business Response
