I wanted to finance a bike that costs around 1400 dollars but I have been paying off this loan since January and have been charged a large amount of interest that conveniently raises everytime it gets close to paying off! I cant escape this loan!Business Response

I purchased a furniture set in October 2024 for *******. I have been making bi weekly payments of $127.17 since October. I checked my balance and it showed that I still owed $1870. I contacted customer support and was told that I had an interest rate of ******% and was being charged $7.90 daily in interest charges. That interest rate is highway robbery and it was never told to me that I would have ******% interest rate. I am planning to speak with a lawyer since in my state you can not have an interest rate higher than 17% on these types of things. At this rate I will pay more than double what I bought the furniture for. If asked I would tell people to stay far away from their company. They are scammers. In Nov 2023, I financed a car repair via America's First Finance (AFF). I noticed unauthorized withdrawals in Aug 2024, disputed 4 payments with my bank, and paid AFF the full balance to close the account (see attached). In May 2025, AFF resumed charging me, claiming a payment was rejected post-closure, reopening my account with interest. This is unacceptable, as I paid the account in full 10 months ago, and the rejected payment occurred after the account closure, which should not trigger additional charges or account reactivation.
Details of the Issue:
Date of Initial Agreement: November 2023 for car repair financing.
Discovery of Issue: August 2024, when I noticed unauthorized withdrawals and disputed four payments with my bank.
Resolution Attempt: Contacted AFF in August 2024, paid the full balance, and received confirmation of account closure (attached).
Current Problem: In May 2025, AFF resumed charging me, claiming a payment was rejected post-closure, causing their system to reopen the account and accrue interest.
Requested Resolution:
Stop all charges/interest.
Close account permanently.
Confirm zero balance in writing
Attached Documentation:
Proof of full payment and account closure confirmation from August 2024.
AFF’s documentation claiming a rejected payment and account reactivation.
I have attempted to resolve this directly with AFF but have not received a satisfactory response. I am filing this complaint to seek a fair resolution and prevent further unjust charges. AFF’s pattern of complaints and lack of BBB accreditation warrants license revocation.Business Response

I bought a dog on aug. 23rd 2024. I have been attempting to contact the loan company Americas First Financial. The payment comes out every week on Thursday. I am not paid until Friday. All I have been trying to do is change my date per week from Thursday to Friday. I have been charged a fee from my bank on Thursday because my money isn't in the bank until Friday. I live paycheck to paycheck. I have left over 15 messages with their 3rd party answering service and have not been able to get in contact with anyone. In addition I have not been notified of the balance I'm paying, and how much is left. Every Thursday I've paid, and no record of the billing has been made available. I dont receive a paper bill. I am submitting this complaint against ******** Fin for the grossly inaccurate balance of $478.00 reported under account number ****************. This balance is completely unfounded and has no connection to any legitimate financial obligation on my part. It is evident that this error is the result of a data breach, which has exposed my personal information and led to this significant financial harm. I am deeply concerned that Amer Fst Fin has failed to take appropriate steps to investigate and correct this error, despite the clear evidence that my personal data may have been compromised. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), specifically 15 USC 1681i, I have the legal right to dispute inaccurate information, and ******** Fin is legally obligated to ensure the accuracy of the data they report. Additionally, under 15 USC 1681n, Amer Fst Fin is subject to severe legal penalties for willfully failing to comply with these requirements, including actual and punitive damages, as well as attorney's fees. The ongoing failure to address this issue is a blatant disregard for my rights as a consumer and demonstrates a reckless indifference to the financial harm they are causing. I demand that ******** Fin immediately conduct a thorough investigation into this breach, correct the false balance, and take all necessary steps to prevent further damage. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will not hesitate to pursue all available legal remedies to hold Amer Fst Fin accountable for the damage they have caused to my financial stability and peace of mind.Business Response

In January I purchased furniture and during the financing my original option was declined and I was quickly switched to this company that did approve me. I was told I could make interest free payments for 4 months and then either pay off the balance or continue paying with a similar interest to the other loan I was being offered. I am coming to the end of my interest free period and just found out the interest being added on is over 150%! This was never explained to me at the store and the company has refused to offer any other plan besides this insane amount of interest that I can't afford. This seems very much like bait and switch and I'm not even sure how it's legal to charge this much interest. Stay away at all cost.Business Response

Pursuant to 15 U.S. Code 1681b - Permissible Purposes of Consumer Reports, any information reported on my consumer report requires explicit written consent. At no time did I provide such consent, and reporting this information without my authorization is a clear act of fraud. Under 15 U.S. Code 1681a(2)(B) - Exclusions from a Consumer Report, any credit transaction that involves the use of a Social Security card is required to be excluded from a consumer credit report. On 1/12/25 i purchase a couch using American first finance, the price of the couch was around 1400. I made the payments each month and made an additional payment of $600 to pay off the loan. On the last day of the buyout period (4/2024), I still owed roughly $40. On May 1st i checked the account to see how much was remaining to be shocked to see that i owed $1362.00. I contacted the buisness to inform them that there was an error. I was told that after the buyout date i would be charged the price of the couch plus a item charge (hidden and shady fees) This amount is literally 2x the price of the couch and was not on any of the paperwork when i purchased the couch. American first finance is conducting illegal hidden charges. This couch was paid for i will not be paying double the price of the item because i still owed $30 after the payoff date.Customer Answer
