1 starAtmos Energy sent someone over to cut my gas off. I asked him if I could go pay it, and his response was "I'm too busy for that. I have other appointments." My gas was cut off 5/16/2024. I paid the bill within 30 minutes. I called to let them know, and they tell me that it won't be turned back on until Monday, 5/20/2024. I am a single mother with two young children, and I'm going to be four days without a way to cook for or bathe my children. It didn't take but a couple of minutes to cut the gas off. It won't take but a couple of minutes to turn it back on. It seems that everyone I've talked to with Atmos has an attitude. I talked to a worker in the Atmos parking lot. He asked me what the address was but then came up with, "Oh, I'm sorry. I only fix leaks." They are some of the most uncaring people. From what I see, they're the only gas company in the area, and they have you over a barrel. That's what's wrong with companies today. They're too big and the customer doesn't matter. ********************** is out of ****, ** and ******, **. They don't care about what's going on in ***********.Review fromTyler M

1 starAbsolutely the worst customer service possible. They shut off our gas for a tamper order saying a tech was never able to come out when we set up service, because they keep terrible records and have no notes about the tech who came out, turned on our gas, performed a pressure test, started our pilot lights, and signed off on everything. I discovered my gas was off when I tried to cook for my family, I called, was informed they made a mistake and a tech would be out within the hour to fix it, then I got a call saying they won't come out and I have to wait till Monday to get it fixed. So now I cannot cook for or bathe my family, my 7 year old wants a bath and I have to tell him he can't bathe for 3 days because Atmos can't run their business. I have contacted the local Fox affiliate as well as *********************** the ** of ***************** and I will continue to call every 30 minutes until they fix their mistake and offer some sort of reparation for their bad business practice.Review fromLolita M

1 starThis place is horrible. I was set up on a payment plan that I did not ask for. I wanted to pay the entire bill the way it stated on the bill. I was set up on a payment plan by a customer service agent who heard my newborn babies crying in the background, as if I needed a handout. I never received correspondence regarding the arrangement. Fast forward, my service was disconnected and I immediately called to pay what was owed, even though the bill said that it was due May 8th. I was told that it would be Monday before anyone could come out. Not only that, the customer service agent was very condescending and rude, laughed at my situation. My husband is deployed and I am home with twin 6 week old babies. There has got to be some level of compassion shown. I have never been treated so poorly by any customer service in my life. To have to go to days without hot water and to have newborns in the house while my husband is risking his life serving this country is an outrage. As a wife of an active duty military member, to be treated this way by a company in *****, *** is mind boggling. Ive never had anything disconnected in my life. No disconnection warning, notice or anything. I will hate this place and will be sure that every one knows how poorly they treat people.Review fromJeff B

1 starAtmos is deserving of its lack of BBB accreditation and how it gets one star is difficult to understand. Its billing practices are abusive and it gets away with them because it is an effectively unregulated monopoly. If there were any alternative. Many people would use it. .Review fromJosh D

1 starImagine being charged 25 cents a gallon at a gas station for months, only for them to claim a mistake and demand the difference for $3.25 a gallon later. This is what happened with Atmos Energy, but with my gas bill.Atmos issued me bills for January ($178.16) and February ($361.96), which I paid, believing my usage was accurately reflected. Encouraged by these reasonable amounts, I continued heating my pool. It turns out, Atmos failed to accurately read my meter for over 2 months, leading to grossly inaccurate bills. Suddenly, I was presented with an "adjusted" bill demanding thousands of dollars more due to their error. When I tried to resolve this, I was met with evasion and blame from Atmos Energy, suggesting this was my fault for trusting their billing. Their negligence in proper meter reading and subsequent inflated billing correction is appalling. Atmos has shown a lack of accountability and a disregard for fair customer treatment in an area where they hold a monopoly. This isn't just poor customer service; it's a deceptive practice that has left me unfairly penalized for their mistakes. Beware of Atmos Energy's billing practicesthey might just surprise you with a ******************* for their oversight.**** Account Number ending in 4909Review fromJohn M

You pay more in fees than you do for gas. $30 dollars in gas turns into a $100 gas bill. What is deferred gas? Deferred for what, to where? Am I eventually getting my "deferred gas" that I pay for? Just take a look at all of the fees on your bill. I'm from ** and have never seen anything like it. For a state that does all of this fracking and natural gas harvesting, it's amazing how much we pay for energy out here. Someone needs to take a look into Atmos Energy. Especially seeing that they're run out of ****** and all the stuff these companies get away with in *****. We have no real representation in this area. Nobody looking out for ** because Atmos is in the pockets of our elected officials. So we have to deal with this abuse. Watching the rich get richer while we pay for it.Atmos Energy

1 starIf I could give negative stars I would. I have 3 accounts. They misread one of the meters last month resulting in a $475 overbilling. They processed an autopay to my credit card on the very same day they billed me.instead of waiting for the due date, like normal companies do. I have spent over a month now, trying to get the overpayment back. Meantime, they have billed me additional for continued service. Found out today, they sent me a refund by check, instead of crediting my credit card. In addition, they mailed the check to the wrong address. Now my other 2 account ******** appear extra high and I am having to have those reviewed. It is quite a hassle, as they ask the customer to go take pictures of the meter and upload. I recommend not setting up autopay for this company because they rush to charge you but if they make a mistake, it takes forever to get your money back. Im still waiting.Review fromMatthew J

1 starThe worst company to do business with period. They have poor customer service assuming you have no clue on how to keep a bill down. I turn off everything while I was away on holiday for two or three weeks and my ******************* tripled by time I came back. Usually my bill is average range of $40 - $90. While not using energy and things shut off my bill was at $190.** and the excuse was they pay more so we pay more market rate of gas went up. As they keep their trillion dollar pocket and raise rates blindly without any warning or written detailing information sent to the customers. *********** should change suppliers.Review fromScott E

1 starAbsolute worst company out there. Came out to fix a minor gas leak at our pool equipment, left with our heat not working in 20 degree temperatures. Call in and they have absolutely no idea of when they are coming back out to rectify their incompetence. Unable to give a timeline. Smartass on the phone asked if I would like to schedule the heat to be turned on tomorrow so she can give an accurate time knowing full well that makes absolutely no sense. Awful.
