This company was hired by the National Athletic Trainers' Association to conduct an Oral History Project. After being hounded for weeks by postcards that does not indicate they are from this company, I called the telephone number. The person identifies themself and verifies my information which they already have because NATA provided it. I answered there questions under the understanding I was just verifying my info for NATA. I then was prompted to purchase something, when I said I was not interested they dropped the bag off the price and dropped the cost $110 dollars. That's when I knew this wasn't about my organization and possibly not even from my organization. I did call the company back about a week later, was able to get transferred to their client experience department and have all of my information removed from the database. For that I give them three stars for removing me and making it relatively easy to do so. I was able to ask for the companies name to be able to search them here and leave the review.

National Athletic Trainers' Association contracted with PCI in March 2022 to conduct an Oral History Program. We directly partner with Meredith ******* and Ruth Riggan in Member Services at NATA. Information about that program, which clearly indicates that no purchase is necessary to participate and tell a story may be found on NATA's website at https://www.nata.org/about/nata-history as well as on social media such as Facebook (see post from June 20). "You may have recently received an email about a "Member Verification Project" from our project partner, Publishing Concepts Inc. (PCI). The NATA Historical Commission is embarking on a mission to collect as many stories from athletic trainers as possible, and membership verification is the first step. If you choose to participate, PCI will verify that the contact information we have for you on file is accurate and ask that you answer some questions about your journey into and through NATA and the athletic training profession. Ultimately, these stories will be archived and saved for historical purposes. For those interested, a book of stories will be made available for purchase. There is no purchase necessary - the goal of the project is to document as many stories as possible to help with the preservation of athletic training and NATA history."

PCI is a 100-year-old family-owned business that partners with hundreds of service organizations, veterans organizations, colleges and universities each year. We are proud to be on Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For® and to provide excellent service in every interaction.

I, like many others, was under the impression that the project was being done by my actual alma mater. At the end of the oral interview the associate started pressuring me into making a purchase of $450. I wasn't interested in purchasing something that hasn't even been published yet. And then when I said no to the $25 donation, not sure it was even going to go to my alma mater, she hung up on me.

******* *********** State University contracted with PCI in February 2022 to conduct an Oral History program. We are working with Michael Stenko in the office of Alumni Affairs and Information about that program may be found on the ******* website at https://www.easternct.edu/alumni-and-friends/the-eastern-alumni-oral-history-project.html.

Ms. ******* participated by providing information for *******'s records but elected not to purchase any products, which is not in any way required. All of our calls are recorded and we can provide that recording to Ms. ******* and/or the BBB at any time - it is clear that PCI's associate did not disconnect the call.

We're gathered over 1000 stories to date, and we're excited and proud to be partnering with ******* to provide this tribute to past and future ******* generations.

If in fact the phone associate did not hang up on me, then she should have called back to finish the call. We may have been disconnected accidentally, but I kept saying, "Hello, hello, hello....", and because the line was dead I assumed she hung up. When I was working and had to call customers, I would occasionally loose a call, but always called back to finish up. She had my phone number. After I hung up, I honestly felt like like like the whole thing was possibly a scam.It just didn't feel right. When I went on line to check out Publishing Concepts I was not the only one who felt this way. My reasons are that the company wants people to purchase something that only exists in theory, the associate was pushy, and it appeared that she hung up on me. If I am incorrect, I apologize.

Since my phone call experience and BBB review, Drew ******, the CEO of Publishing Concepts reached out to me. He was sincerely apologetic for my experience. I believe I may have just reacted incorrectly to the way the phone associated presented the program.

I was under the impression the project was being done by my actual alma mater. I called the number on the post card to what I thought was update my contact information and they conducted the interview on the spot. I was kind of shocked this was the "big project" my university was working on when all they did was off the cuff ask me 3 general questions about my experience. Then promptly asked me to spend $450 to get a copy of the project after the interview ended. I was so angry by the time I hung up the phone. I am so glad I asked them to email me the packages so I could find the name of this shitty company and leave this review. BEWARE.

In the spring of 2022, ********** State University partnered with PCI to conduct an Oral History Project. The program is an opportunity to gather stories and collect memories that will bring the ********** State University experience to life. In addition to their posts about the program on social media, information about the program and their partnership with PCI is prominently displayed on their website, with an ad/graphic in the header of their homepage as well as a full page with information about the partnership at www.alumni.framingham.edu/history (from About, then Oral History Project). That content says, in part, "********** State University has partnered with Publishing Concepts (PCI) to gain access to its experienced, trained staff. PCI associates will listen to your stories and assemble information into a publication. To help you stay connected to ********** State University, PCI will also verify and update contact information if you have moved or recently lost touch. Please note that we have only shared your contact information with PCI in conjunction with this project. PCI will contact ********** State University alumni directly through postcards, emails and phone calls to encourage participation."
