I received a phone call from a number that’s assigned to my local electric company. The woman on the other end advised me that I entered a contract with Spark Energy “a few months ago” and a technician was on his way to my house to cut off my service within the next two hours. Did not state the reason for the termination or a balance amount. Did not attempt to collect any payments owed. Which I found strange especially since I was never issued a shutoff notice for my electricity. I told her I did not have a contract with the company. She advised me that if I did not want to continue with the alleged contract I would need to cancel the contract immediately and they would call the technician to stop the disconnection. Seemed like a lot of insight for someone who didn’t work for the other company. She then proceeded to tell me that she could connect me to Spark Energy so that I could talk to their customer service. Someone else immediately came on the line. I told the new person, who was male, that I did not have a contract with the company. He advised that I did and that I checked off several boxes agreeing to the service. I’m 1000% sure I did not sign a contract with this company. He then proceeded to tell me that he has a voice recording. He asked if I would like to hear it. I told him to play it. He then told me they would mail it within 3-5 business days. This is after he told me I checked off something in person. I told him to cancel whatever they had in my name and he told me that since I was canceling a 24 month contract early I would need to pay $900 for a early termination fee. I hung up and called my actual electric company. While I was on hold with my electric company I received several more calls from the number. If I hung up on Spark why would someone from my electric company call me right back? I’ve never done business with this company. I do not plan on doing business with this company. They are not involved in my electric service in any capacity.Spark Energy, L.P.

Sparks Energy misrepresented as **** when I signed what I thought was a necessary agreement to contract for gas. It wasn't until this year that I realized that I didn't need Sparks delivery after talking with a **** representative. I have been paying Sparks approximately $27 dollars a month as compared to $8 through my electric company. That equate roughly $1440.00 for a total of six years. What a rip off. I contacted my electric company and alerted them about Sparks' fraud.Spark Energy, L.P.

I wanted to reach out to say that I have been in a argument with Spark Energy for over 3 months now!! They have our residential house as a commercial building and is over changing us! We never had a contact with this company but they will not reimburse us for the overage they changed for two months. We have to call ComEd and get set on a monthly bill cycle that our monthly payment is over $270 a month. This is just for electricity! This is all because Spark Energy was over changing us on our bill and they take those amount to figure our monthly payment for 6 months now! We have been paying this for over 2 months now and it is so hard! I am now emailing back and forth with Spark Energy because I can not talk on the phone with them anymore! They never salve the problem just keep passing me around to other employees!! I do not know what to do anymore!Spark Energy, L.P.

They were charging me two and a half times the normal rate of energy from ComEd, it's ridiculous that I have a thousand dollar electric bill and being charged over 300 dollars each monthSpark Energy, L.P.

I am NOT a customer. They tried to tell me i was going to be disconnected with Duke Energy and switched to spark energy and they only way to keep electric is to pay $917 to buy out contract I NEVER SIGNED OR TALKED TO ANYONE ABOUT. This is a huge scam. I contacted my electric company for anfraud alert in case they try anything else. Someone needs to shut them down.Spark Energy, L.P.

If anyone from this company comes to your door, just tell them to go away. If you ask them if they're trying to sell you something or sign you up for anything, they will lie and say that they just need to check on your PG&E billing rate. I gave the guy every opportunity to tell the truth and he kept lying. He was not happy that I googled Spark Energy right in front of him and found out that he was indeed trying to sell me something. Isn't that illegal? If it's not illegal, it is definitely unethical. You have to be pretty shady to come out looking worse than PG&E.Spark Energy, L.P.

Spark energy has on multiple occasions taken out 2 to 3 times the payment amount. I have been told on multiple occasions that they have a problem processing payments online. This last instance they over charged me by more than $660 dollars. Takes 5 days to correct issue which has caused over draft fees from my bank. Will never recommend anyone doing business with spark energy. They are patheticSpark Energy, L.P.

They called me up and told me that to break the monopoly of the gas companies they would charge me less gas as I prefer rate I come from Long Island New York and I'm in California and I didn't think the gas bills were that high my highest gas bill was $50 I switched to smoke I was you know it's low for a while then all of a sudden it popped up to $400 and I panicked I thought my gas is leaking of something I called **** up and they came to the house and the guy explained that we only charged you so much but my since I switched to spark energy locked into a contract with them the **** would have charged me $135 for the same amount of gas but spark energy raise it to 427 be smart do not go with spark energy they are CrooksSpark Energy, L.P.

BEWARE OF SPARK ENERGY
They will not notify you when contract expires and put you on highest possible rate,for 500units charged me approx $200 without notice…now send me an email on 17th feb morning about sending me account to collections for not paying my bill which was due on feb15th…really?? WHICH IS ENROLLED IN AUTOPAY..I have been their customer for more than 7yrs

I signed up with this company August of 2022because they claimed they would charge me significantly less as my gas provider. The agent had led me to believe it would be a cheaper bill, better rate than my consumers. As it turns out I am paying more with this gas company as I looked at my winter bills. Double than my last winters bill. gas as I would have if I didn't sign up with them. It noticed this when I got my bill today, and to go back n look at my last years bills n compare them. So now to cancel I have to pay the $100 early termination fee. I called them to complain today , and told them that their sales person misled me and told me after 6 months I would get a rebate check. Not true they say now it is after a year. I told them I am very unhappy that now I am paying twice as much for gas. they also informed me it might take a couple of billing cycles before the cancellation goes through. We should not have to pay a$100 cancellation fee if we were misled and they are higher than my gas company.
DON'T SIGN UP WITH THEM they are scammers.
