      I signed up with this company, because they claimed they would charge me significantly less as my gas provider. They led me to believe it would be a cheaper bill, but as it turns out I am paying 2x as much for gas as I would have if I didn't sign up with them. It took 2 billing cycles for me to figure out what was happening. By then the 30 day trial period was over. I think it was over before I even got my first bill. So now to cancel I have to pay the $100 early termination fee. I called them to complain today that their sales person misled me. They said they would investigate. I told them I am very unhappy that now I am paying twice as much for gas. It will still save me money to cancel early. However, they also informed me it might take a couple of billing cycles before the cancellation goes through. I agree... DON'T SIGN UP WITH THEM.

      I accidentally allowed my 1 year contract with Spark Energy to lapse and was automatically enrolled in their month-to-month contract. The new rate was over double of my previous rate; my average monthly bill of $200 shot up to over $400. I called and asked for my bill to be lowered but they would not work with me. Very greedy and unethical business practices. I do not recommend this company.

      I never signed up for this company, but somehow I’m enrolled-again. I’ve canceled them a couple of other times over the years. They can’t show me how I enrolled. (Because I didn’t) this time they tried to tell me they acquired my account from a company called ocean energy but I didn’t sign up for that either. I’ve never even heard of them. They canceled it again but I don’t trust it’ll be the last time. Their rates are double ComEd where I was & want to be. I believe they prey on seniors. Scam company.

      I'm so disappointed with the way this company handles their business. I went from an incredible fixed rate to "variable rate" my bill went from about $200 a month to $604 in one month.

      I reviewed my past bills going back to when I first signed up back in October of 2020 and I never had a bill over $300 so when I received last month my bill and it was $569 I was shocked and was like maybe it’s due to the heat wave but still thought to myself I have never paid this much for a light bill but when I received my new bill and the amount said $604 I immediately knew something was wrong and called Spark Energy.

      I have been giving the run arounds all day by different customer service reps that was absolutely no help and I have been unable to speak with a manager regarding my account and to explain why my light bill is so high.

      I have also sent an email to Spark Energy at

      officeofthepresident@sparkenergy and have yet to receive a response either.

      I have had Spark Energy for a few years now and I can NEVER get in contact with a supervisor. The people who answer the phones, will also say they will send an email to a supervisor who will call me back, but no one ever does. Customer Service is horrible! I pay my bill on time every month for a service that doesn’t care. Every representative always just say “I understand your problem”. Great, but no one can help.
