      took me quite literally an hour to get someone on the phone at 7am. told me that i needed to pay the $100 before 8 am on the service start date. turns out they canceled my appointment without even saying anything and i was supposed to pay it before 7 pm the day prior. **. the lady was a rude **** as well. this company is actually terrible.

      Centerpoint Energy's website is so poorly-designed and so frequently non-functional that many of the tenants who rent from me have an almost impossible time setting up their new accounts or stopping service when they move out. As a building contractor I also have tremendous difficulty contacting the necessary people when starting a new service or requesting that a gas service be vacated. The CEO and *** of this company should be ashamed of themselves. My new solution: no more gas! I'm switching my properties to all-electric one at a time and I'd recommend that others who are able to do so do the same.

      You could be paying every month and they will still disconnect your service. These people are sick in the head and anybody who works for them should quit immediately

      I realized I probably would have insufficient funds in my checking account to accommodate the CenterPoint February bill. I was out of town and did not have access to my bank. So, I paid the bill online leaving $0.00 due more than 24 hours before the due date. No option was offered to suspend automatic payment. Centerpoint withdrew the previous amount, nearly $200.00 anyway. Fortunately, I did find a way to cover the pending withdrawal before the Centerpoint due date. Had I not, I'd have been stuck with a bank overdraft fee as well as a late charge from Centerpoint.I contacted their support line to complain on 2/25/25. The agent replied that was correct and there was no way to change it. When pressed he said I would needed to cancel the auto pay. He eventually said I could request the overpayment be reimbursed by check. I inst ructed him to re-imburse me. Pressed further I asked him for a call-back from a supervisor. He said he had one but no one would call back. To date, I have no call-back and no check.l There were no instructions on canceling auto-pay.

      I received a bill in the mail from centerpoint energy for my gas service I have been with centerpoint for 3 years my bill have never been over 50 month for gas the only thing in my house that use gas is the hot water heater nothing else. My bill went from 46.56 in December to january 1 to January 29 104.89 my November bill was for 36.23 when I called centerpoint they gave me all kind of bull crap talking about a had higher usage in January when I have been having the same people living with me for the last three year. Since I have leaved in my apartment for the past three years my gas bill have never been over 50 dollars. I believe centerpoint energy is getting over on people.

For your reference, this year, the consumption of natural gas reached 88 ccfs, compared to 66 ccfs during the same period last year.       I've been with this company since 2022 and have had no problems until now...Last month 1/24/25 I was on CenterPoint website to pay my gas bill, well in the mist of me submitting my payment the website shutdown. So I automatically logged back into my account and notice that that it was still showing my balance.. so I assumed that my payment didn't go through. So later on that day when I got home I was checking my bank statement to see what all had cleared and I seen where there where two payments made to CenterPoint for the exact amount... So I automatically called customer service to cancel the payment and explain what happened. I requested for a refund back to my bank card of my overpayment amount.. I was told that they wouldn't be able to refund my money back onto my bank card that it was against their policy. They told me that they could send it back by check..so I was upset didn't understand why they would have to do it that way when the money was taken off my bank card...so anyways I agreed to have them send me my refund by check... Long story short I called customer service back yesterday 2/12/25 to see how long it would take for me to get my refund and the rep told me up to 20 days..So today I get the mail and there's my CenterPoint Energy bill with a balance of $10.41 because they forwarded my money a $100.47 to my account when I asked for a refund and was told that I would recieve it within 20 days of the processing of the refund...Mind you my bill not even due until 2/25/25...so how is this fair. They just took my money and did what they wanted with it and I'm pissed..I pay my bills on time I couldn't afford that overpayment that's why I requested for the refund..

      Garbage company. I had a stolen credit card linked to my account. Centerpoint shut me off with no notification via email or mail. They are in need of hand holding by the federal government as an incompetent company. If they called it was from am unlisted number, you can't do that in an era of spam!

      December 2014 gas bill was $80. Distribution fee was $196. This is a rip off of the people. CenterPoint has a monopoly in this area. I thought monopoly of utilities was illegal

      Contacted CenterPoint to connect gas service, and the service was scheduled on 01/06/2025. We only received automatic phone call said the technician will come in 30 minutes, then received a cancellation message right before the appointment time. Called customer service 5 times on 01/06/2025 to put us back on the appointment list for that day, even went out to wait for them at 30F in case they can't enter the gate. However, they failed to show up and claimed we didn't answer the call, the truth was they never called.
      Tried to reschedule gas connection on 01/07/2025 today, but seems very hopeless. It's cold weather alert from 01/05/2025, with no heater, no gas can cook, almost kind of emergency situation, the house inside is freezing, but CenterPoint kept cancelling our service appointment without any in advance notification. We had to request time off from our work because not sure when CenterPoint will show up.

      I called today on 12-30-2024. Center point energy is open. Yet they are denying me to stop my services until after new years. If the company is open they can stop service. They are literally pushing it out to get a couple extra days of free money. Their customer service is in Nicaragua you don’t even get to speak to them. This is a comlete joke.
