on 06/14/2025 me and my father were fixing our garage after having just moved in. My dad doesn't speak english well. A salesman from this company came to us asking about our lives, pests in the house, etc. Then says how he wants to give us a huge discount, no contract, no commitment. I sign what I thought was the payment for just the first time for them to come. Later, I get a notification with a file containing a CONTRACT. The document he had me sign was the contract, and in said document it states how we are not allowed to back out before the end of the 12 months without paying for the rest of the 3 payments plus 80% on the original. This was incredibly preditory because we had been exhausted, my father didnt speak english and the salesman CLEARLY said it would be no contract no commitment, saying absolutely nothing about this insane amount of fees. On top of that, they are allowed to upcharge us anytime given 30 day notice. Terrible company.we have only paid 89 dollars so far for the first visit. There is 3 more visits for this year, each being 139, totalling to $510.Business Response

After reviewing the account, everything appears to be in order. The service includes a total of five treatments: the initial service in June, followed by quarterly visits scheduled for July 2025, October 2025, January 2026, and April 2026.
Please note that customers have the right to cancel within the first 3 days without incurring a cancellation fee. If cancellation is requested after that period, the early cancellation fee does apply. While customers are free to cancel at any time, the cancellation policy and associated fees outlined in the agreement will still apply. Its also important to consider that the service includes unlimited warranty visits and coverage for a wide range of pests. In fact, a warranty visit was completed on 07/08/2025 at 5:43 PM.

Put simply, the sales person who convinced me to give Moxie a try explicitly mentioned that the initial discounted charge would cover the entire year of services (including the quarterly follow-ups). I found out today that I was charged for my first quarterly pest control service after I had paid the initial charge.After reading many reviews and complaints across the board, it's unmistakably clear that Moxie is a scam company that deceives customers into accepting ******** agreements with rigorous terms around cancellations and exorbitant cancellation fees outside the 3 day window after signing their agreement.This should be investigated and mitigated as soon as possible, as Moxie is engaging in willfully deceptive business practices.I have sent a request for cancellation and am awaiting their response. Since the door-to-door sales person grossly misrepresented how this would work, I would like my services cancelled and for all future service and charges to be cancelled.Thank you for considering my request, and I urge others to avoid Moxie on principle alone for the above reasons.Business Response

Thank you so much for reaching out to us. Id like to take a moment to clarify a few details regarding your agreement.
You did sign a one year service agreement, which includes five services: one initial treatment and four quarterly services. In the center of the agreement, you can see the schedule of services along with the corresponding prices. A copy of this agreement is always provided to the customer after signing for their records. It is the customers responsibility to review the agreement to ensure all information is correct and that they agree with the terms.
Additionally, please note that after the initial service, customers have the right to cancel without a cancellation fee if they choose to do so within the first three business days. If cancellation is requested after this period, the early termination fee as outlined in the agreement would apply unless the full year of service is completed. I wrote the company an email telling them I wish to cancel my service. They have service hours to call that are not able to be reached on my work schedule and they demand a phone call and state my account is active. They do not reply to me when I state I wish to stop service with them unless I call and explain. I want email confirmation that my account is not active immediately.Business Response

A "technician" from this company, Moxie Pest Control, came to my door and said he was in the area and that some of my neighbors had already joined their company for pest control and wanted to give a quote. He was on a segway with a tablet, flashed a "badge" with the company logo on it. I explained that there is no soliciting in our neighborhood, he stated he had a permit to do so. This is a bold face lie as no such thing exists. When I attempted to call the company, the phone just states they are in training and to "call back". This company appears to be a scam and may even be canvassing neighborhoods to see who answers the door.Business Response

I dont see you listed as a current customer. While I understand that you may not agree with our door-to-door approach, I want to assure you that our team is properly licensed and authorized to operate in the area.
The No Soliciting signs generally apply to individuals who have not gone through the appropriate permitting process, which we have. Our representatives are there to provide information, but there is absolutely no obligation to purchase anything. I purchased a contract with Moxie Pest control on May 24, 2025. The sales person spoke fast and lied about the coverages being offered, he said they handles ,mosquitoes and they do not. I have been attempting to cancel service for weeks. I called Moxie and cancelled. I sent written texts and emails to Moxie. Today they showed up unauthorized and trespassed on my property. This company and its represenatives are scamming people. I would like any monies I paid to Moxie and the contract cancelled immediately with no fees from Moxie applied. A written notice to cancel a contract should be accepted and no other action should be required if Moxie is a legit company.Business Response

We understand your frustration and appreciate the opportunity to clarify. At the time of enrollment, all customers receive a copy of their agreement. If you check the email we have on file ****************************** , you should be able to locate it. For your convenience, weve also attached it here. The agreement clearly outlines the one year service term and associated costs, which are displayed near the center of the page. Its the customers responsibility to thoroughly review the terms before signing. Per Section 11(C) of the agreement, if a customer chooses to cancel after the three day ***** period and before the end of the one year term, an early cancellation fee applies equal to 80% of the remaining contract balance. In this case, the cancellation was requested after that three day window. As such, the fee was applied correctly and cannot be waived. I am rejecting this response because: they lied about the coverage in the contract verbally at my home. They also refused to cancel my account immediately when asked. On March 21, 2023 I signed a contract stating I would pay Moxie Pest Control $450 to install the termite stations and (according to the contract) $49 a month for 24 months, that is a total of $1,675.00 ($1,743.89 with sales tax). What I have paid is $1,807.18 because I was billed $50 a month instead of the contracted $49 per month which means they owe me $63.35. The termite stations were removed after the two year contract was up but I am still getting text messages and emails telling me I still owe them for one more month ($53.63 which is $50 plus sales tax). Each time I get a reminder, via email or text message,that I owe them money I tell them I'm no longer a customer and they actually owe me money. I don't care about the money I just want them to stop harassing me. I would be extremely surprised if I'm the only customer that has over paid and THEY SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE (I think they should have to go back through ALL of there contracts and receipts and start writing checks to everyone they over charged).Business Response

This parasitic company sent a solicitor on a Segway scooter to my home today. This person ignored multiple legal posted signs in my community saying no solicitors. I have one of these signs at my driveway also, along with a No Trespassing sign. This young person beat on my fromt door until I answered. I was asleep because I work nights. After I explained how unwelcome this was, the guy refused to identify himself or who he worked for, but I saw an ID for ********************** attached to his shirt. I am submitting this complaint due to repeated and unwelcome solicitation by representatives of ******** Pest Control, despite a clearly visible "No Soliciting" sign posted at my residence.On multiple occasions, their sales personnel have approached my home attempting to promote pest control services. When confronted, they claim they are not soliciting. However, I do not know these individuals, I am not a customer of their company, and they are clearly attempting to sell a servicethis is, by definition, solicitation.This behavior has not only been directed at me but has also affected several of my neighbors, all of whom have similar signage posted. We are a gated community with a no solicitation sign. Over the last week, Moxie pest has been in our neighborhood around the clock with no remorse. We have had a door to door salesman ring the door at 1pm, stand out front for over 15 mins in front of our door, then come back at dinner time and then come back again at 9PM ringing the doorbell with a child at the house. Absolutely unacceptable. we do not allow this, we contacted Moxie as a neighborhood and got a response that yielded no solution as the sales **** were quite literally back in our neighborhood not 12 hours later. WHAT A JOKE OF A BUSINESS. i dont want to have a kid get a ticket or arrested, but enough is enough.Business Response
