Terrible company to deal with. My uncle, a Navy Veteran, passed away in January of this year and had an auto loan and auto insurance with USAA. As the executor of his estate I have had to endure multiple calls, being transferred, placed on hold and subjected to various verifications to prove my identity. Upon paying off the vehicle through the estate and personal account I am now told that I have to wait an additional 14 business days to request the vehicle title. That means yet another call navigating the USAA gauntlet. Shouldnt the title be released automatically??? To make matters worse USAA has my uncle date of death off by a year! They have the death certificate and have acknowledged the error but tell me I need to correct the error! If you can avoid USAA please do for your heirs sake.

I started my claim in April it is now July 1 and I am still having problems with USAA, I am a veteran and this Business should not be advertising that that serve vets, that is a flat out lie in fact that are scamming vets, that is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with and will tell everyone I know to stay away especially my fellow veterans.they took a rental car away from me a week after I had it and then strung me along in the claim process then told me my car was totaled and I still need to pay ***** dollars to close out my claim even though I had full coverage, bottom line do yourself a favor go with anyone but them trust me they will s**** you over the 1st chance they get, wish I could have given them a -5 is what they deserve.

I recently changed my phone number due to excessive spam and suspicious activity on some accounts. When I attempted to log in to ************************** to view my account details, I was unable to proceed because a verification code was being sent to my old number. I called customer service and was informed that I could not access my account without responding to that same textsent to the compromised number I had already replaced. I was then asked to submit photos of my ID to regain access, which is especially concerning given that I changed my contact information due to potential account compromise. The very systems put in place to 'improve security' end up preventing legitimate customers from accessing their own accounts.

This company is awful. The value that they assigned to my car, which their customer totalled, was reasonable, and then they deducted almost $2000 from that for "mileage" (my car had a totally normal amount of mileage for its age) and "existing damage". They refuse to negotiate or show any documentation that shows how they decided on those deductions, just saying "it's not an exact science".They also had Copart pick up my car without authorization, from the garage where it had been towed. I had specifically told USAA that it was NOT authorized until we agreed on an amount, and they took it anyway. Then they blame the garage for "not telling them" that it wasn't authorized - but the garage says they DID tell them and they took it anyway. I'm inclined to believe the garage.Their whole attitude is basically, we do what we want, we don't care about you, you take the amount of money we offer and that's it. Unless you take them to court (which of course most of us can't afford to do), you don't seem to have any recourse.I hate them and I wish I had never had to deal with them.

Would leave -3 to if I could. Used to be great customer service. These days its apathetic patronizing lying horrible rude people. How disappointing how does the army feel about being associated with them? Are they anti semites now or is this just my experience? So tired of being jerked around.

I have been a USAA Member for over decade. I am so displeased with everything about the direction they are going. Insurance claims are some of the worst experiences in my life. Nothing like you see in the commercials. customer service is non existent and the security has gone to far making it a pain to access your own accounts.

USAA allowed my ex husband to make changes to my policies (sole owner). They bypassed my pin and even added his phone number onto my policies for him to be able to make the changes! This was all done without my knowledge or consent. I wasnt notified until AFTER the changes were made. Totally unacceptable, I will never do business with this company again. Some random representative, ** ***** (who repeatedly reported he was the highest up, without me asking or mentioning anything about that) informed me this was allowed per the companys policies and procedures. When I asked for a copy of the policy I was told USAAs policies and procedures are proprietary and he refused to provide me with a copy of the policy. Accounts are not protected with this company. Take your business to a reputable company.

I filed a claim for my dads condo in September *************************** June 2025 starting work. My dad had the walls and flooring the kitchen living room, dining room and one bedroom/one bathroom all removed on 6/13 and nothing has happened since. He was placed in a hotel by USAA on 6/12 for the work to be done, the home was not safely livable due to the moisture intrusion and mold. USAA has done nothing since to keep work going, its been pending approval on the rebuild even though they approved to demo the place. I cant ever get a call or email back with any info, I have to call almost daily and talk to whatever poor soul answered and reads the claim over to get me an update. My reps **** also doesnt answer, her name is ******** ******, my claim representative is ***. My dad drives around all day everyday because he hates the hotel hes in, no kitchen, no furniture, and were 18 days into hotel life so burning through the funds he has via his policy, but *** doesnt update me on any of that. *** doesnt update whether or not my dad can have his upper cabinets replaced to match the lowers, the absolute least this company could do is replace the uppers to match the lowers! Hes eating our 3 meals a day, hes diabetic as well. *** doesnt know that though because he doesnt ask. My dad deserves to be heavily compensated for this experience, he needs to be moved to a better hotel at USAA expense as this project will take 3-5 weeks to finish from when it starts, which will hopefully be 7/7. My dad deserves an apology for being displaced with no resolution or urgency. USAA should be ashamed to treat veterans this way, Im appalled.

Absolutely horrible. The claim agents do not return calls. You leave a message with their managers and they do not bother to call you back either. I have dealt with Geico and State Farm and they are light years better than USAA. I thought this was a good company based on their advertisements. I could not have been more wrong.

I was involved in a high speed MVA 9-28-2023. I had full coverage insurance with USAA and had been a loyal member for roughly 19 years. Bills paid on time and multiple accounts with them. It took me a year to find a doctor that wasn't associated with ********* comp. Finally Dr. ***** ***** gave me paperwork stating that I had sustained a brain bleed and broken neck. I provided it to my attorney at ***********************. (Who unknowingly to me at the time was affiliated with the hospital that sent me home saying I was fine.) All of my computers, emails, and accounts were hacked immediately after sending the attorney's this documentation. I could no longer access my accounts through **********************. I tried calling from my phone and from friends phones. They supposedly "had never had this happen before." But they were supposedly unable to get me back into my accounts. I tried 3 times to send the fraud documentation through the mail to them and each time it was returned. The first time the stamps had been removed and the envelope opened on the left side. So I used clear tape to close it. It was sent back again saying something about defaced stamps. The third time I haven't received it back yet. I can't help but see the coincidence in this being a military company and the federal post office not sending my mail. Especially since I have also had problems with my house being broken into and the cops refusing to take reports, mishandling evidence, and laughing at and mocking me. Of course USAA doesnt want to pay for a brain bleed and broken neck. They shouldn't have to either. It was a ********* comp case through ********************* and they should be held responsible. ******** *****
