I recently rented an electric vehicle through this company, and the experience was extremely disappointing. The car had only 100 miles of range on a full battery, which is entirely inadequate for driving in ******** 110-degree heat. I was nearly stranded and couldnt charge the vehicle at my hotel in ****** because the charging plug was not compatibleand the car did not come with an adapter.Additionally, I was hit with hidden fees and found their billing to be completely lacking in transparency. The customer service was abysmal. When I called the Phoenix office for help, the manager, ********, was rude and dismissive. Despite having paid for roadside assistance, she told me to use my own insurance. Throughout the call, she was condescending and gaslit me instead of providing any real support or ************ make matters worse, I did not choose the vehiclethis selection was made through a third party, and I was not informed of the cars limitations ahead of time. I feel completely blindsided by this experience and wholly unsatisfied with the service I received. I will not be renting from this company again and do not recommend them to others.

They didnt have our car available and upcharged us to take one that they had on hand, saying that we could come back and see if our prepaid car was returned later that day. The car they gave us had expired registration too. Ridiculous.

My reservation was thru Priceline. The total price for the reservation was $16.63. A light bulb should have gone off that something was wrong. If it is too good to be true there is a catch. The location is off site from ***************************. When we arrived the location looked like a shack. Inside the building was a sign to use the virtual assistant rather than a human being. There were two booths. Inside you encountered a screen and saw a message that said, "We are connecting you with one of our ***resentatives now." After waiting for 15 minutes a message appeared that said "***resentatives are currently unavailable;someone will be with you shortly." I heard the person in the booth next to me complete his transaction with the ***resentative so I changed to that booth while she was still connected. The ***resentative told me a $500.00 hold would be placed on my AmEx.I asked why so much. The usual and customary hold is $200.00-$300.00.I have NEVER had a hold exceeding $300.00 be placed on a car ***********, I was offered liability and collision damage coverage.I informed the ***resentative that I had coverage through AmEx.She then wanted to see the AmEx declaration page. When I refused to provide her with this information she requested to see the declaration page of my personal auto insurance. The more information she requested the more I began to understand that this was a scam. Why did she need access to all this information? So that they could initiate a claim for some trumped up damage to the car?I refused to provide her with any of the declaration pages. She offered me toll road coverage. She said $29.00 would cover all the toll road charges.I asked why I could not just pay for the tolls I used or be billed?I was told I would be charged $25.00 for EACH toll I ******* that point I informed the *** I would not proceed with the rental as this was nothing but a scam.I was visiting family so was picked up. NU Car is NOT A REPUTABLE ********** IS A SCAM AND FRAUDULENT.

I am not a picky person so when I saw the reviews I thought we'll maybe these people are just uptight *******, ill give it a try. Worst thing ever. I paid expedia $177 then when I returned the vehicle they charged an additional $250. For a jeep compass 4 day use. The new charges were not explained they just said sign here, initial here at car pickup. Hidden charges and gas refuel at property is expensive. They say they are cheaper but I took my car back with a half tank and they charged $43 for supposed fillup. It didnt even cost that much to fill up from empty. This company is fraudulent. Pay attention to the reviews. Pay the extra $10 and go to a reputable company.

N Car Rentals is a scam, plain and simple. I was not given the car I rented, and instead, one that was significantly smaller. Additionally, and most importantly, the vehicle they sent me out in was unfit for travel. The front tires were worn below the wear bars and had large chucks of tires missing from the tread due to them being beyond end of life.

This company is a scam. They charged me a random fee after I returned the car, then kept giving false explanations until they finally admitted it was for a late returneven though I had proof I dropped it off on time and had proof I was on my flight the time they said I dropped it off. Completely dishonest and untrustworthy. Would not recommend to use them but if you do, make sure you get a final receipt so you can save it for proof when you leave

I wish so much we had read reviews before renting from Nu Car Rentals, *******, **, as we would never have used their services. After reading several reviews, they all centered around the same complaint, being charged car insurance loss damage waiver and roadside assistance that we verbally denied at the checkout counter and other undisclosed fees amounting to $910.94. Originally we were quoted by Priceline a fee of $ ******. I remember the counter person telling us that we would be responsible for our own insurance, and she had us initial those extra charges as a waiver. To our surprise, Nu Car Rentals has refused to negotiate any of our disputed charges saying they have us on camera agreeing to these charges. How easy it is for Nu, headquartered in *********, **, to dismiss our concerns. During our first conversation refuting these charges, Nu Car Rentals offered a $248.88 refund. When we asked them to pursue the full overcharges, they resended the refund altogether and charged us the full price of $910.94. We received two separate charges on our credit card bill from Priceline for $****** and from Nu Car Rentals for $560.98. The counter girl had me initial several lengthy areas on the contract and dismissed me having to read them saying it was all documentation of what she told us. This is a scam company. I also fault Priceline for being involved in this fraudulent practice. Nu Car Rentals are not accredited by Better Business Bureau. That should have been our first clue. Public,,,,,beware. Never trust Nu Car Rentals or Priceline. This complaint insisted I leave a star rating before I could submit it.
