Issue: Product Failure CC:Medtronic ************************* *************************************************************** October 25, ******************************************* 2016 with a battery that required recharging approximately every two weeks. After nearly six years the battery began to deplete. After which, a newer more advanced was recommended by my Medtronic's Sales Rep. ********************************* was selected for the re-installation which was scheduled for January 3, 2022. The battery unit was installed and appeared to perform normally until Monday Oct. 3, 2022, when a considerable increase in back pain required an adjustment in coverage and intensity. After attempting to turn on the controller my phone device issued a service code 302 with a message that stated that the Nurostimulator was not only empty but depleted. This depletion occurred in ten months and not in the **** yrs. the battery was said to last. I contacted ************************* who met with me on the afternoon of October 3, 2022, at the Upper Bay Surgical Center completed an electronic evaluation that confirmed the error code sent earlier by the device. At that time ****************** instructed the ******** Service Agent to initiate a report regarding the issue. I reached out to ***** on Wednesday October 12, 2022, inquiring if hed heard anything as a result of the report that had been generated. He stated that he had not heard anything as his (DM) District Manager had been out on (PTO) Paid Time Off. As of the date of this letter I havent heard from any representative of Medtronic. I have been experiencing considerable pain and discomfort without the assistance that the device offers when it is charged and operating normally. Please respond to this inquiry at your eeriest convenience with a plan of action concerning to replacement of the battery.Regards,********************************************************************************************************************* **************

In january 2022 i received finanicial award through medtronics stating I'd pay no more than $35 for any supply shipments. They charged me with balance of ****** in jan. 2022. I have been disputing this charge along with others since start. I have only grossed ********* ytd. I have unopened products I tried to return and they have each time refused to give me return shipping labels to return. Now today 10/17/22, the are saying its over 30 days I can't return. I tried within the 30 days and they refused then also. I have tried numerous times to take care of this and they have refused each time. They refuse to let me return products to adjust the bill and reimburse insurance company. The last shipment sent was on june 30, 22 which i was not even using the products any more by this time. So they sent me stuff and charged me and insurance company after being told I had discontinued and was not using and refused to take it back.

I am rejecting this response because: they have not tried to resolve this matter nor did they send me any documents stating what break downs are and of financial assistance I was award the beginning of year prior to receiving any products. They have been told I did not use their equipment anymore but yet still sent *********** charged me and refused to let me return anything. I have not used their products since July 2, 2022. Very poor company to try to work with. They lie and over charge customers refuse unused unopened returns. They need reported to some type of health board

      1. Medtronic has made it clear to me in phone conversations with customer resolution specialists that the amounts they bill my insurance company are arbitrary, and then the remaining amounts that are billed to patients are also arbitrary. Sometimes bills are sent to patients months after items may be returned, or after claims may be processed. This practice is not fair as it does not allow patients to make informed purchasing decisions, or take corrective actions for mistakes and delays outside of their control. 2. The charges are excessive and considerably higher than what other retailers charge. Medtronic is consistently billing my insurance company $ ****** per item: Guardian Sensor 3 for the MiniMed 770G system (5/box) Product code: MMT-7020LA which is nearly twice the cost of the same product purchased without insurance: https://www.healthline.com/diabetesmine/new-medtronic-stand-alone-cgm-guardian-connect#cost

Medtronic is sending *********** that I did not request and have repeatedly tried to cancel. I have called in online and their request is for me to return the supplies but they will not provide an itemized invoice that would allow me to identify and collect the supplies. This has been an ongoing issue for 4-5 months and I do not have sufficient room to store the supplies at my home while I wait to be able to return.

I am rejecting this response because: the respondent is not being truthful.  I had multiple calls and emails to stop the shipments.  At this point I have returned all items received and am looking for a full refund from Medtronic.

I received an insulin pump and CGM from Medtronic on 10/19/2018. I reached out to get training, which is required, as it is a medical device that delivers insulin, too much of which can lead to severe hypoglycemia which can result in loss of consciousness, seizures, and death. Too little insulin can lead to severe hyperglycemia which results in DKA, multi-organ failure, and death. I spent months reaching out to Medtronic for training which they never provided. I fought with them to please take the product back (Pump and Guardian sensor). They flatly refused but after I produced emails and phone call records as well as proof of failure to train by their employee they agreed to take back only the guardian sensor. I have had 3 major failure with this product-- reported and resulted in recalls by the company. I have been reaching out to Medtronic for (beginning in February 2022) 5 months, trying to get an answer about warranty on their product. They forward me to a representative that sends me to voice mail and does not return my calls. When I get a live person on a customer service line they claim they can not give me a warranty date and offer to have another rep return my call. No one returns my calls, no one answers my emails, no one from Medtronic will discuss with me a warranty date on a faulty product they refuse to provide training on.
