We have been unable find this donor in our system or database as ever having donated or attempted to donate with us with the number or email provided, from ****** We reached out multiple times to speak with this donor for further details to search from. No calls were answers and messages were left without response.
It is likely that the reason we cannot find them in our system is because this the Freedom center that was visited by donor is no long under our ownership and belongs to Grifols plasma centers. For that reason we would not have a record of them in our system.
We would be more than happy to further investigate with the donor and/or redirect the complaint to the appropriate party.

My issue began at the first week of July, 2024. I drove 35 minutes to make a donation only to be told I need my blood drawn and checked for protein levels. I asked which proteins were low. The answer I got was they look for an array of proteins. I politely just accepted her answer without informing her I work for ************ The 5 major proteins they would need to check for are globulin, immunoglobulin, albumin, pre albumin, and fibrinogen levels. An employee said I could get a form filled out by my physician stating I was physically and physiologically fit to donate. I called about the status and an employee informed me the form was not filled out correctly by my physician. I then went to Freedom Plasma and requested another form be faxed to my physician and was told there wasnt an availability to a fax. I completed the request only to be told that I would have to give another sample and a week later that I failed the guidelines again. I checked again with them and another employee said that the *** form WAS filled out correctly. I waited a few weeks, went back on August 3, 2024 and gave another sample. I had my labs drawn from my *** to see for myself what my results are of my levels. All were within normal range. I also gave Freedom Plasma a copy of my results to be put in my file. I was told there are no files. I called back a week later to be given the excuse their doctor entered my results incorrectly and was going to be correctly. I called back September 11, 2024 and was told it had not been completed and a "Expedited Request was going to be sent in and to call back the next day. I called back AGAIN today September 12, *************************************************************************************** for him and did not have time to fix my incorrectly entered information and to call again next week. Excuses and the different number of excuses lasting for 2 months is unacceptable. ***** requires me to receive any and all my test results.Initial Complaint

On September 7, 2024, I went in to donate plasma and had an awful experience. The staff member handling my donation repeatedly moved the needle in and out of my arm, causing significant pain without successfully drawing blood. When I asked to stop due to the pain, they insisted I would only receive $5 and needed to be stuck again in my other arm. I warned them that the veins in that arm are shallow and prone to swelling, but they ignored my concerns and proceeded anyway.During the donation, the staff made rude jokes and comments about me, which only worsened the situation. After I finished, they skipped over me, unhooking other donors while I sat and waited for about 20 minutes. Eventually, I removed the blood pressure cuff myself, and the needle came out because my arm had swollen. They hastily wrapped my arm and told me to stay and drink a Gatorade, acting as though I hadnt completed my donation, even though the saline had run clear and there was nothing left in the ********* add insult to injury, I was supposed to receive $100 for my second donation, but I was only paid $50. When I called the manager, he argued that I had unhooked myself before the donation was complete, claiming it was their policy. Throughout the entire experience, I was treated with extreme rudeness and felt completely dehumanized. Donating plasma is important to me for both my health and to help others in need, yet this company, which profited thousands from my donation, treated me with utter disregard, causing pain and humiliating me in front of a room full of people.Initial Complaint

On 6/22/2024 I went to freedom plasma center. They told me I was deferred because I went to another center. Now I did not exceed 2 time in a seven day period. Not did I have an attitude. I was talking to a manager. He told me he could not show me a copy of the rule that he told me I was deferred for. So another employee helped me with that. As she showed me, it started they ask us not to jump from center to center. Within a seven day period. Now I last donated at grifols plasma center on 6/15/2024. That is seven days and I was not argumentative, nor did I use foul language. But since he didn't want to show me the rules, he asked me to leave. Now some other employee came over, which I don't know why, with an attitude and not very good customer service. She was very inappropriate in her manner then she decided to ****** the book of *** Regulationsout of my hands. Her demeanor was not work appropriate nor professional. I have been going to that center for at least a year. I have never caused a commotion ever. And I would like it if you contacted them to understand how rude and very unprofessional they were to a continuing customer.Initial Complaint

I went into freedom plasma in *********** about a week ago to become a new donor the staff were respectful efficient and very thorough with their process there the customer service is amazing but there was an issue. While going through the process of new donor I was told I'm unable to donate because I'm a recovering addict with 9 years clean I'm in medicated assisted treatment the issue came up when listing my meds. (Suboxone) Supposedly it's policy to turn people away. I have donated at other places just fine but I ran into that issue there and I feel it's a little discriminating in a way. I don't do drugs today so why did they not accept me is my plasma not good enough for freedom plasma ?Business Response

We received your complaint and are deeply concerned about how you felt regarding your experience. We take donor and product safety very seriously and wanted to provide some clarification regarding the process in hopes that knowing the companys policies would eliminate your feelings of discrimination.
The determination was not based on your previous choices but based on the medication that your health care provider finds necessary for your overall well-being. What may be acceptable at one company might not be acceptable at all plasma companies within the industry. There are many regulatory requirements and several different customer specifications depending on which pharmaceutical company is going to receive the product. This establishes the organizations Standard Operating Procedures as it relates to the donor acceptance criteria.
Many medications are able to be passed from the donor to the recipient. Thusly, lowering the levels within the donor and lowering the purity/potency for the person that receives the lifesaving products that are derived from this much needed lifesaving plasma.
At Freedom Plasma, we value your trust and appreciate your feedback. This feedback helps facilitates process improvements to ensure that all our donors have a positive and pleasant experience.Initial Complaint

Freedom Plasma has an extensive screening process to evaluate donor suitability that ensures product quality and donor safety. Unfortunately, this client was unable to continue donating with our center due to disqualifying information provided by the client to the center. While frustrating for the client, this decision was not made subjectively by the center staff, but instead was made following guidance required by Corporate SOP and regulatory guidance.Initial Complaint

They have a stupid policy that supposedly the drivers license and social security card must match. While I feel that is mostly a good thing but I went to donate Plasma at Freedom Plasma in ****** because my wife did and told me plasma was needed. My drivers license shows my name as ******************************** and my Social security card says ************************************I was told to donate plasma I needed to either go get a new drivers license and or a new Social Security card. I even had my VA military id. For this reason they need to use common since that all I had three different state ids that show I am **** mean thats just stupid because its easy to identify who I am just using my ids oh and I also took utility bills. Maybe a different *************************** is paying my bills and going to donate plasma.I see the business has a F rating so they probably wont care but I have the ability to stop 6 people from donating and I am telling everyone I know to avoid them.
