  They will raise your rent will double in a short amount of time.This company has changed ownership several times. It's now listed as Extra Space Storage or Life Storage. I was renting from them for several years - but over the past 2 years, my rent is now double (for a 6x9 small space). My latest bill is now $134. for this tiny space. Yet, they advertise this same space for around $35 bucks a month. DO NOT BE FOOLED. They will increase your rent very quickly to double that amount in 1-3 months (look up their ****** and Yelp reviews. Most are 1 star due to this reason).My latest issue with them is that I've been on automatic payment with them through my bank's bill pay. My bank send them a physical check every month - on time - for the last 10 years.2 days ago, Extra Space notified me that they never received my check. I immediately checked my online banking and saw that the check was sent out on the 25th and they received it on the 30th. I notified them about this, but they denied they received it. They told me to check back on Monday ( the next business day).Since I didn't trust them, I proceeded to move all my stuff out and cleaned out my unit on the Nov. 4th and 5th. Today (Nov. 6th), I called them and, sure enough, they said they still never received the check. I told them to cancel my account as my stuff is now moved out.They told me that I'm still responsible for the whole month of November, since I didn't move out all my stuff till Nov 5th!?! Basically, they want to CHARGE ME FOR A WHOLE MONTH.I told them I'm not paying for that, so they told me they're sending the bill to collections. (for $134 - which I do NOT owe).AVOID THIS PLACE!!!

  The Extra Space Storage has charged me excessive storage fees and late fees. I am paying 348 a month and started at 148. Now Im dealing with mice infestation at the ********, ** property. The employees are rarely in the office and always have a return later sign on the door. I went there on Saturday 11/4 and had to clean piles of mice f**** on my storage containers before I could retrieve them. When I went to complain the sign was on the office door about I will return later. I can never get customer service, and the employees are rarely in the office. Im going see if ******** will help me get answers.

  This company is fraudulent and a rip off. They will scam you out of your money with many fees and when there system is glitching they will take no responsibility for the reason your payments are delayed. They need to get rid of ALL ExtraSpace Storages!

  Easiest rental Ive ever done, friendliest people to work with. Couldnt be happier with the unit, very clean. Extra space is great, so happy that we could get a climate controlled unit here.

  Extra Space Storage is a ******************** They take over existing local storage companies and then immediately implement their no notice price increases, with ongoing price increases every 3+ Mo. I moved from one of their locations a year ago and they just purchased my new location, they immediately increased the rent 35%, no notice. Take a look at their one sided agreements; their goal is to monopolize a local/regional market and then extract unfair pricing. They are doing what Corporations call a "Roll-Up Strategy" purchasing smaller companies in regions so that they can corner a specific market and then implement their monopolistic pricing practices. They get away with it because nobody wants to keep moving their Stored Property. We ALL need to complain to our State's *********************** about their anti-competitive and monopolistic practices and to the BBB. These organizations are supposed to be protecting Consumers from Predatory Companies like Extra Space Storage. So, BBB how about protecting the Consumer from Extra Space Storage? C.

  Bait and switch prices. Do not rent with them! Month to month renters will receive a rent price increase on their units 3 months in. The price doubled from $158 to $258 on a unit that still had their web offer online listed for $158. When I called in they were unrelenting and offered a small adjustment off but warned this happens TWICE a year! Shady crooks.

  I don't know what is going on but there's clearly something very shady going on. Originally Life Storage, they announced Extra Space was buying it and suddenly (and without notification) they raised rent by 50%.Calling them was an exercise in frustration. The manager, who would not provide me any information for other people I could discuss the issue with, told me they can change the rent whenever they want to whatever they want. I hope enough people read this so they know not to trust this company. What a disaster.

  Extra Space Storage in *********, ** should be ashamed! I've been a customer for 3 years. The first time, they honored the original rate, and less than 6 months later, upped the rate by 50%. I looked online and found a "special" so, I emptied old unit and got new rate. Now 1 month later, I received a 3"x5" postcard in the email, (dont know why cause I conduct all payments and notifications electronically) that as of 1 month from now, they want to up my rate by 53% "due to changes in market conditions" REALLY???? 1 month later, and 1 month notice???? From $104 to $194!!! I'm reading in other reviews that I am not the only one. How is this even allowed to happen? What type of consumer rights do we have, or is this like the Wild West, anything goes?
