      Abysmal - I have no idea why anyone would choose Extra Space. When I signed up I was assured my rate would not change for at least 6 months, and if it did, to call and it would be resolved. 4 months later is DOUBLED! I called and the manger said "oh, sorry - nothing I can do." I did call the main (888) number and the reduced the rate for a couple more months. In this process, somehow my account fell off from the EasyPay (automatic debit). I received a call from the manager that my account was past due - I immediately paid it and restarted the autopay. The next month (today), I get a $35 late fee that my account was not paid! Seriously?! I call the main number, explain what happened, and the simply tell me my account is not on EasyPay. I painstakingly explain that it should be, and that I restarted it, and that it did NOT kick in. They simply did not care. They refused to reimburse the $35 late fee... seriously? I gave notice. They would rather force me to pay the late fee and lose a customer that simply credit the $35. With employees like that, you have to wonder how they are in business.I've traveled extensively and use storage facilities all over the world. This one is the absolute worst. Please... .avoid them.

      Company uses bait and switch pricing scheme. Website advertise 8'x10' unit at 88$ but I ended up at 145$ couple of months later. There is no indication in their website about any promotional rate period nor how much $$$ a customer will end up couple of months later. Requested the manager of adjusting my rate to the current advertised rate but to no avail. She does not think this is predatory marketing. What do you think?

      I cannot believe what I’ve experienced in Houston Texas. Westheimer store has a new manager John P****** who does not have any idea how to do his job. He was the person that screwed up my account causing conflict. He was VERY nasty to me and I got tired of him being t rude so I contacted my husband to be a witness. I’m a professional business owner, John P****** in turn LIED and said I threatened him and he had to call the police. Something people randomly do to black people. I’m sick and tired of being treated like this in this world. I work, own a business, and take care of all of my children, and I’m still easily treated like an animal. Had I been a white woman, none of this would have happened. I did honestly tell John he’s on drugs, how can you not remember what HE did to an account a month ago? I can’t voice my opinion? I guess I should have shut my black mouth, I’m so appalled that not one person asked me what happened, just kicked me out of my storage. He may have felt threatened when I called my husband, who else was I supposed to call when a big overweight man is being nasty to me? My husband owns a business as well, but you know black people best people up, my husband is over the road and I wanted him to witness! I suggested their cameras, they said it’s not gonna prove anything..the treatment is getting so damn old!

      Well here is my email to the Ceo and the executives of this company and not one person responded. It was well over 1 week. So after paying all this money even with the increase I can't even get someone to reach out to me. Sad. Over the years, I have trusted and admired Extra Space Storage for its high standards and the quality of its services. This admiration has kept me loyal to your brand even amid numerous price increments, which escalated from $166 when I first subscribed in 2019 to a current figure of $266. Despite these increases and the economic challenges, I have continued to honor my commitments by paying my bills promptly and without fail.Recently, a minor oversight caused a delay in my monthly payment due on June 1st. As soon as I noticed this, I visited the store on **********************************************, to rectify the situation and sought a one-time waiver for the late fee, considering my unblemished payment record. Unfortunately, I was met with an uncooperative stance from both the store manager and the district manager, who offered only a partial reduction of $20 from the late fee.As a customer who has always fulfilled her obligations promptly, this experience feels unfair and contrary to the high service standards Extra Space Storage professes to uphold. Moreover, it's disconcerting that a multi-billion-dollar, publicly-traded company is not showing understanding and flexibility during these challenging times, which have impacted ** all.Kindly review and reverse the late fee charged for the month of June, as it was an isolated incident due to an inadvertent oversight.Requesting a reassessment and adjustment of my storage rental fees that have seen a dramatic increase since my initial contract.An acknowledgment that the way this situation has been handled does not reflect the high standards of customer service that ******************** purports to uphold.

      The staff at this location have always been EXCELLENT and are the reason I am giving an extra star. Thank you! 5 stars for the service.I am dissatisfied with the predatory practices of Extra Space Storage. My account was on auto pay, and one of my payments failed. I received one email notification, which admittedly I missed. I also must not have been monitoring my checking account very well, because I did not notice the payments stopped coming out. This is on me, but I was experiencing a personal hardship. However, I continued to log in occasionally because I was receiving text messages from Extra Space asking me to call them. My account looked normal, the payment area had the green check still and said EASY PAY IS ON in huge text. (I do have a screenshot) I was working long hours that were during the hours extra space was open, and going through the personal hardship, so I did not call. Again, admittedly on me. There were no messages on my account and it said that my auto pay was on. There were no messages to review. At one point I texted the number back and received a response that they cannot give me any information. I never received a single additional email to alert me as to what was going on with my account or my missed payment. When I did realize what was going on with my account, ******************************************* had charged me over $150 in fees with only one email and no indicator on my account online. I understand my negligence here, but it's just an unacceptable customer experience and I have never had only one email notification of a missed payment. I think the policies need improvement here. If there was a message center on the app, that would be fine-- but there is not.It is a policy designed to be a set-up to take advantage of customers who may be distracted by other issues in their lives, and charge them fees they cannot afford. Despite the great service from the local employees and convenient location I cannot recommend this storage unit, and have warned others.

      I DO NOT RECOMMEND, many times the climate control was not functional. There was spiders on al my new furniture!! The pin pads for the elevator DO NOT function. Anyone has access to the 2nd and 3rd floor with out having a unit in those floors. I was charged for a unit I had already called to cancel. And I was not reimbursed the over draft fees on my bank account that where caused because of extra space storage!!!!
