  It's unprofessional and sad that Merrick Bank sent an email that did not address the reason I reached out regarding blocking the usage of my card due to not having a phone number that has not been on my account for a long while. I made the proper inquiry to resolve the issue; however the Merrick agent that said he was a supervisor clearly did not initiate a proper investigation into my complaint but instead dismissed my concern and a couple days later Merrick sent me an action needed email regarding the phone number. Being a good customer that makes payments on time is not what this company seems to want. When I was making minimum payments and my balance owed was high they had no issue with my contact method being just an email and there being no phone number. I've been making larger payments and keeping my balance low, so now Merrick Bank made no number on file an issue. I don't have much money but I definitely do not want to put it in a company that doesn't value or makes no true effort to actually take care of good, loyal customers. It's important not to allow any company you spend money with to treat you less than. I paid my account in full and closed my account since I cannot use my account without providing a phone number. They also increased the annual fee from $4.00 a statement to $7.00 so I'm taking having to close this account as a blessing. If you have other choices or options for credit cards avoid Merrick bank.

  I make my minimum payment each month and I get calls from this company several times a day every day that they want another payment, this is harassment and the worst company. They need to only call people once or twice a month. They charge even when you dont use the card. Terrible companh

  The bank holds onto customers payments without applying it to the available balance even if you upload evidence from your bank that the payment went through they will make up ******** excuses about the system not being able to be overridden even by upper management.

  I was behind 2 payments and they closed my account without notification of any kind. Paid it in full and was initially looking to rebuild my credit but definitely not now. Merrick Bank. NEVER AGAIN

  My mom passed away and owed 1100 on a credit card. She has 400 dollars in her bank account. Now their lawyers are trying to strong arm me into paying more to close the account or sell the family home. I offered 600 of my own money to save the home for her grand children. The lawyer wants 825. Which the 825 plus what she has in the bank is over 1200. More than what she owes. The lawyers have made me have a mental breakdown because they refuse to let me settle this account and close my moms estate. Everyone else gave me a 50% pay off and I paid as soon as they offered it. But merrick banks will not. They offered a 10% discount but then pushed me for the 825 that will leave me and my family broke. Do not trust them. Their lawyers are not fair at all.

  Merrick closed my account months before I realized. Would have been nice to have been notified. High interest and fees. Good riddance.

  Worst credit card ever! I was never advised that they were going to charge a $4 a month service fee. Lousy card, high interest. Seldom used and cancelled imediately when finding out about the service fee.

  This card is a bust. Its seems fairly simple get the card pay the on time payments and your good.yet come to find out they do weird things with processing payments. And after u miss 3 payments they close your card. I have already cut the card up. I'm paying it off and being done with them all together. This was a waste of time and money.

  Never ever ever used Merrick card but guess what happened anyway?Unfortunately, I somehow received a card from Merrick Bank in 2021. Never ever ever used it. Not ever one charge. Merrick can easily confirm this is true. As such, I immediately and respectfully requested the company close this account. ******************** sent me a statement showing $198 in charges 100% by Merrick. These included an annual fee, set up fee, interest on their fees, a $40 late fee for their internal charges, etc. Again, I never once ever used this card. Yet, today this Merrick account reports negatively on my credit report despite multiple requests to remove it. This is not the bank you want to do business with. Take the word of a military veteran, business owner, father, and husband.
