Got scammed by Prestige Financial on an auto loan. I've paid $31,000 on a loan valuing $18,000. I haven't had the vehicle in 5 years (voluntary repo). And when I told them I was voluntarily reposing the vehicle, it took them 6 months to tell me where to drop the vehicle off. I called Prestige in an attempt to offer a settlement of $5,000 per the conversation I had with my previous account manager (No longer handles my account), but was met with horrible customer service, condescension, blatant inconsistencies, and dismissiveness. I requested that my offer be escalated but was quickly shot down and dismissed. After calling roughly 4 times I was able to get someone to "escalate", but all they did was send my request to the person assigned to my account. That person denied my offer via a text message with no explanation as to why. I called Prestige again and requested to speak with a supervisor, so they explain why my settlement offer had been denied me. I waited for about 30 minutes and finally got a hold of a supervisor; she informed me that she would need the full amount of $6,255. This was not told to me when we discussed the remaining balance back in 2021. My previous account manager stated that when the balance got below a certain threshold ($10,000) I would be able to settle for even less than I was offering; I even told them to play the call back for verification. I offered $5,000 because I assumed it would have been accepted. It's borderline Predatory Lending practices, when it's all said and done Prestige is extorting me for $40,000. I received an Email Jan 20th from Prestige Employee ******* informing that I had not deposited a check that was sent to me. Asking for my new address if check was sent to wrong address. I made a call on the same day informing new address. They sent out the check January 21. Stating that I will be receiving the check in 5 to 7 business days. No check has arrived and Ive received no call back from management or back office informing the delay of my check. I am supposed to receive 2 checks for an overpayment and gap insurance. No one has been updating me the status of my check and will not look to other options to receive my check! I would like either fed ex shipping WITH TRACKING or direct deposit regarding my funds as my solution to the matter!Business Response

Me and my fianc got a car loan through this place . Are car loan has not moved at all we have prof of all the payments that we have made however we have been behind but caught up on the payment . The account manger name ***** is very rude she is very demanding and we just made a car payment they are sending another text of when we will be able to make another car payment . I am not liable for this debt with PRESTIGE FNL and do not have a contract with any collection agency . They do not provide me with the original application like I asked Proof of copy of original application that includes my signature, Full payment history from original creditor, original agreement showing they can legally collect the debt . I sold my vehicle on 11-16-22. The car dealer over-paid on the pay off to Prestige of around 376 dollars. On ***** 22, I contacted Prestige in regard to how fast I would be mailed a check. Two of there staff told me it would take at least 30 days. REALLY!!!! What happened to 10 days. What is taking so long.? If i am late on a payment its ok for them to keep adding INTEREST. I would expect them to pay me within a timelee matter and add interst. I hope I get the overpayment due me.Business Response

I paid off a vehicle loan for a 2018 ******* Tucson in February of 2022. I called to pay the remaining balance after my insurance and gap insurance paid their portions. I was told the remaining balance and provided my card information for the amount to be paid. I recently discovered that it was reported to my credit as paid in full-settled for less amount. When I Prestige Financial I was transferred several times and then told an email had to be sent to the credit ***** and that they'd reach back in 48hrs or so. 3 days later I called them again and spoke with the assistant vice ********** ****** who could not give me any straight forward answers. I explained that I called in to pay a balance and did just that. I repeated that I was never told an amount other than what I paid. He kept saying that it was closed out in full but I settled, not paying $393.67. I asked him if the phone calls were recorded and he confirmed they were. I asked him to listen to the recording from that day I called to make payment. He explained that the credit ***** would reach out and that he'd follow up with me the next day. Only after calling in again did I receive an email. The rep. ****** that it was closed out in full but settled. I asked how to correct it and was not explained how until after I said okay so I pay this additional amount will you correct my credit? I was was told to just call and make the payment. I then asked for information on how I can make the payment to ensure my credit is corrected, I still haven't received a response. I then called them agin just to see if I could make payment and the rep. explained the account was closed and it's a system thing but he could submit it to be opened and someone would call me when the account was open. I thanked him and asked to speak to a supervisor because it was never mentioned that there would be an additional delay. I then was transferred to a voicemail and still have yet to receive a call. This company continues to file collections after the law states it is time barred. I have never been served to be able to defend my self. They keep adding to amount owed and will not stop garnishment. I have called the attorney to inform him of the time bar on collections and he will not reply. I have emailed the company with no reply. On 9/17/22 my car was repossessed. The next morning I reached out by text to loss mitigations rep ***** and ask what was the talk to get it back . I always communicate by text with them . I was told the total and I advised her that it would get paid . She stated that the total past due needs to be paid for release. It took me some weeks to get it paid but I was in constant communication with her and was sending payments to knock down the past due . I didn't get it out when I initially stayed but we communicated and she explained as **** as I am paying it that she would give me until 10/31/22 to redeem the vehicle. I paid the last payment on 10/21/22 and was told a release was sent . ***** told me at this time that my personal property and the vehicle were at two different locations . She explained I would need to set up an appt for personal belongings first then to get the vehicle . This was the first time I was made aware that my belongings weren't with the car and this was the first time I was given the information and location of my belongings. I followed those instructions . I was given an appt for 10/25/22 I went to pick up my belongings and was told they were thrown away . I was told my the repo company there policy is to hold it for 60 days but prestige policy is discard after 30 days . I called ***** and she said oh well that's not my fault but now we will know the policy for other customers going forward . She explained that she didn't know it would be thrown away . Never in our text or communication were these details given to me . I had very valuable things in my car . ******** law states that I have the right to my personal property and it is not collateral for the car . I spoke with ********* the ** she said I should have paid ny payments on time and it wouldn't have been repossessed. She said it's nothing we will do about your property being thrown away .I had communication with them weekly and made payments . They never once discussed my property.Business Response

The email didn't offer any resolution only an apology for the poor customer service . I am requesting for my belongings to be replaced as I was not properly notified .
