I am someone of Half ******* and Half *********** ancestry. Both of my parents on numerous testing companies including 23andme are genetically identified as a rough 50/50 mixture of European and Native ********.On the latest update, my indigenous **************** DECREASED to 15%. My Indigenous ******** total INCREASED to 53%. This can largely be attributed to the flawed methodology in their AncestryDNA service. If you read their white paper, their methods include making attempts to extract Native American ancestry from modern admixed populations in the American continents by comparing individual sections of their genomes, using the sections that they found to match with Native ******** genomes as a way to provide reference for *******, ****************, and South ******** indigenous ancestry. The method I described above is bombastically speculative, and is likely responsible for the overestimation of my Native American ancestry. 23andme's methodology is more rigorous and conservative. AncestryDNA NEVER had a good reputation for its precision. Even if we did consider the possibility that I was more Native ******** than European (Which would be discrepant with every other test), the fact that my **************** indigenous is 15 percent is ridiculous and unreasonable. The chances that my *********** parent had some percentage of indigenous ******* ancestry is probably slimmer than the chance of being struck by lightning, especially considering her family's geographical position.Just use 23andme. This company solely relies on the success of its advertising and not on the quality of its genetic testing.

On May 20, 2022 I signed up for a free trial from the ancestry.ca website. I canceled my membership before the end of the trial period but was charged $19.03. The customer service representative I spoke with was unhelpful and refused to offer a refund. I would caution others against using Ancestry.

ancestry is a scam i think. I paid for a dna test once they received it took them 3 weeks to acknowledge they had. I waited nearly 2 months now they tell me i have to do another and start the ****************. Theyre rude and insulting when you talk to them on the phone. I think ancestry should not be allowed to do dna testing they clearly dont know what theyre doing.

A few months ago I tried canceling my membership but the site wouldn't take it. I got charged again and called to get a refund and spoke to ***** Not only was she rude she tried speaking over me and that didn't go well for her. After arguing with her about a refund she left me on hold for ************************************************************************************************************************ the end after 45 minutes on the phone I got a refund. They are the rudest people to ever deal with. This company is all about the money and not really helping people. Don't waste your time with them.
