tried to cancel my membership and they cited the 30 day notice so they can collect their last month fee. they said that my $49 annual renewal fee was also due. How in the world can a renewal fee be due when I am cancelling? they must be hurting to try that scam. I will let them fight with my bank!!

I was going to sign up for a personal trainer and decided to hold off until i did their free consultation to see if it was something id be interested in. I went in to the consultation and we just talked. I figured it was free so thats probably what it was supposed to be. At the end of the appointment the trainer started to set up my next appt. I told her i never finished signing up for the training sessions. She told me that it says i did. So i set up the appt even though i wasnt ready. I though if i didnt like it id just cancel since obviously there was no contract. The first appt was just checking what i could do which is what i thought the consultation was supposed to be like it said online. She scheduled me for a second appt. At that appointment she told me she was fired and id have to find a new trainer. She said she would talk to her boss about my schedule. I missed a week because they still hadnt found me a trainer. I emailed them telling them what happened and that i didnt even show personal training on my account and asked if i was going to be billed for it. She assured me i had it and asked if i talked to any other trainer. The following week i got a notification that i had an appt. It was only 30 min, i was told i had 1 hour appts. She said that was the only time she had available. The next week she tried changing my appt to an earlier time because her appt canceled. I was sleeping. I went in for my scheduled time. For 30 min. I tried cancelling but was told i had a 6 month contract and i couldn't. I eventually let her know i was taking a break. She told me to freeze my account. I emailed to freeze the account and it was never froze. I saw on the website i could cancel. And the agent said i couldnt and sent me a copy of the contract. It wasnt even signed! All this time i was told i had no choice but to pay when i wasn't even ready. They cancelled the contract that wasnt a contract, and said i couldnt get a refund for the unauthorized charges.

Hello,I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. It looks like you have already spoke to many people on our team and we already offered you a significant refund for your Personal Training. We can go ahead and move forward with that refund if you would like but at this point nothing further will be offered.

You dont get to negotiate how much you want to return of someones money that you took from them. I wasnt ready to start personal training it was supposed to be a free consultation. But your employees kept telling me i was locked into a contract when i wasnt. And youre still trying to charge me for the free consultation. Its been very difficult getting through to anyone i talked to about it. Because they all were only offering partial refund. When i said i would pay for the days i actually had personal training. Expecting me to forfeit any amount other than for the days i actually had training, isnt a fair decision. If a store overcharges you, do they get to negotiate how much theyll return? No they dont. They return the money they took. Any other business wouldnt make a customer pay for the companies mistake. Even if it wasnt intentional. Your motto is the customer is never right. All the times i said something about not having personal training your employees should have checked. But instead they chose to ignore me and tell me i had no choice but to pay... Then you guys expect me to let you keep some of the money you took even after i said i didnt sign up for a contract. No means no. I clicked no thanks on the plan selection and set up what was supposed to be a free consultation. No thanks means no. No matter what the situation is.

They scam people saying no Contract no obligation; yet when you call and let them know that you are done, they continue to charge you and then you get sent to collections. They have nice facilities but the management are either trained to defraud people or they learn it

I initially signed up when I was two months away from leaving the country. I spoke with an employee in a gym on ********** in ************** and they told me that if I cancelled before a certain date (~2 months in the future) I would not be charged the rate guarantee fee of ~$50. I cancelled at the time I was instructed and left the country. Nearly a year later when I returned from school abroad I was getting phone calls from a debt collector about the money I owed them. When I told them what happened they obviously didn't care since it was a different organization. I reached out to the club to see if they could make it right directly and the manager refused to contact me despite my repeated attempts to get in touch with them. Later I signed up again and was using the gym for a while until I moved. Once I lived far away I wanted to cancel my membership and I discovered I needed to manually look up my member number and gym number and that they were requiring 30 days notice. Nothing illegal there. It's all in their stupid contracts. Just unethical. They make it a painful experience to cancel and try to squeeze every dollar out of you that they can. I won't do business with Vasa ever again. It's not a customer friendly organization. They will lose share to Planet Fitness and others over time as they keep ******* people off. Hopefully the owners go bankrupt, that would be some satisfying justice.

Hello,I apologize for the negative experience that you have had. While looking at your previous account, it looks like we advised you of a past due balance and that we could not cancel your Membership until the past due balance was made. We never received a payment on that account, so your Membership was written off to collections. I have also located your current Membership, ************************* - 5228004269125W. It does look like your Membership has been cancelled. As previously stated, I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Initially I signed up online, then I got Covid. My sister tried to resolve the matter, went into a facility the Mgr said the membership was cancelled, dont worry about it everything is fine. Which actually didnt turn out to be the case obviously. She returned to the gym two more times and was told the same thing. after getting out of the hospital and home the next thing I know Im being contacted by an attorney trying to collect money *************** these people are trying to collect money theyre vicious they dont care about nothing and everything you say is lies as far as theyre concerned. I contacted the corporate office of Vasa talk to a female went through a long ordeal about everything she told me that I wouldnt have to pay a cancellation fee but everything would be fine they would pull it back from the collections since I never ever went into a location and that was that. She said I would receive a call in an hour to the next business day I never received a call. I never ever once stepped foot inside one of these facilities Nor would I this place is a nightmare. Truly you cant trust anything what the business says or what the collection says I think that they should be reviewed because this is wrong.
