In June of 2022. I was approached in my yard, by a person going house to house to spray for pests. i did not want to use credit card so i gave him $105 cash for 1 application. they came back a second time, climbed over my gate to get to back yard i stopped him and told him i did not want anymore applications he tried to say i had a contract, i did not . we called BRD PEST SOLUTIONS. Did not get anything resolved, I did not here anything from them until may of 2024. They now want
$519.94 for not doing anything else. This is harassment and fraud. i would like it to stop and have no other contact from them.Initial Complaint

Last June I had a salesman come to my door and offer me their services for $50 instead of their original rate of $129. He mentioned that they COULD come quarterly, monthly, or whatever we wanted. At no point did he say that I was entering a contract or would ever pay more than the $50 for a service. I was satisfied with the original service and said that they could come again a few months late (September 2023) but when I got the bill, it was $129. I called the office and after being harassed and bullied, I asked to cancel my services. They told me that I had signed and entered a contract that said that I would be paying $129 for a next 3 services (4 total services including initial) or I would have to pay 80% of the money I would pay. I was frustrated-especially with how they were talking to me over the phone and how untruthful the salesman was. I had to go through the next three but my credit card expired and I now get a text 4-5 times a week about how I owe them money but nobody every came to do the service. I am now trying to cancel my services but when I call or respond to their texts I get told to contact the account manager. but it has been impossible to reach one. They keep trying to schedule someone to come and do another service and I am tired of all of the messages I am getting. I would like to end my account and stop receiving messages from them.Initial Complaint

BRD Pest Solutions are not to be trusted. They are using unfair and deceptive tactics with their offerings.
I was trying their service for one time to see how it might impact the huge grasshopper population we experienced summer 2023. When they contacted me more than 2 months after the one appointment to make a second appointment, I wrote back to ask what that was all about. They said I had a contract with them and I told them I did not. I tried several times to “work through” the misunderstanding of services that were obviously not explained at the first visit. Now they are sending weekly emails asking me to pay for unused services on the alleged contract. I was canceling an appointment they made for me and they said I had canceled my alleged “contract”.
The many emails ask me to update my credit card info so they can charge me 80% of unused services that I never signed for nor ordered of $359. Who ever heard of a YEAR trial period? This was the surprise news after they said I had agreed to this. It was not true - I did not sign anything. A copy of their contract was sent email to me but it is not my signature. The door-to-door salesperson should have explained there would be a contract in the first place but that did not happen. Plus, the one-time (15 minute) service was poorly executed and did not address things that were explained. BRD Pest Solutions needs to stop harassing and contacting me and stop accusing me of having an account with a debt from a contract they devised out of thin air. I do want to hear from this company that this matter has been resolved and closed.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I have already tried in emails, in texts, in-person phone conversations since October 1, 2023 and the results have been non-productive. If anything I also feel bullied in the conversation, and other communications have arrived since I placed this BBB complaint about an appointment they made FOR me, and texts they were on the way, etc. I have asked to quit harassing me. For me to call them would give them more opportunity to keep harassing. I need their resolution contact.
Sincerely,

BRD pest solutions is falsely selling their product to individuals stating there is no contract unless the individual confirms after the first service. I never confirmed further service from them. In fact after 3 weeks they tried to schedule another service I refused it and immediately cancelled. I was then texted, emailed and called asking why I was canceling. I stated their service did not deliver as promised and once again canceled and requested they stop contacting me. This company has continued to contact me via text, email and phone call. This is now harassment as they refuse to acknowledge I do not want their service and to stop calling me. Their office in San Antonio as well as the one in Utah has continued to contact me. There is nothing they can offer other than canceling services as I requested on several occasions. They cannot bill for services not provided, they cannot harass people just because they are not satisfied with their product. They cannot make false statements stating no contact then locking people into a contract.Business Response

Hey *******,
Thank you for bringing this situation to my attention. We take these matters very seriously and your satisfaction is our top priority. I apologies if there was any miscommunication about the service agreement. A big reason we send the Service agreement to your email 2 days before the initial service is to help ensure we are on the same page before preforming the service. I wish I could be on each door step explaining the agreement. We have been trying to contact you to assist you in closing out your account and apologies for any miscommunication. There will be no additional charges. We just wanted to reach out regarding your experience. Please let me know if you have any other question or concerns. Thank you.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. As a business your sales people need to be upfront with the actual intention and end result after the 2 day grace period that was never explained. The nightmare of getting service cancelled is ridiculous as it’s the run around just avoiding properly answering questions and closing service when required. I’m not the only customer with the same complaint you have a serious problem with transparency. I appreciate your response and hope my nightmare is over. Please do better as a business and educate your sales people in proper transparency of services.
Sincerely,
******* ****Initial Complaint

The sales guy came to our house and offered pest control services. I at first said no but then the sales guy went on to offer a deal where it would be $50 for the first 3 months instead of the normal $219. He went on to say if we wanted to cancel after the first 3 months we could, so it's worth at least trying it for the $50. I verified with him that if I wanted to cancel then I could with no problems and I would only have to pay the $50. I agreed to do it and after the 3 months I asked to cancel the services. I was then asked if I was made aware of the 80% cancelation fee of the remaining year contract value, which would be 80% of $476. I informed them I was never made aware of a cancelation fee. They told me it was in the contract so I would have to pay it. Im upset the sales guy told me I could cancel without any fees and that is not true.
