1 starThe worst experience with this unprofessional corporate people of Volkswagen Group of America, Inc and Audi of America.Faulty Product / Dehumanization/disregard, neglect to own their own product and putting people's life to danger is one of the core values of ************************* a customer I bought a vehicle from ********************** Tysons corner which was later had a oil consumption issue as after running 400 to 600 miles the oil was empty and had to be refilled for the engine. We had multiple visits in this case when finally they kept the car for a month and more to see what was going on. Upon finding and trying different procedures, the technicians at ************************** could not figure out the issue. Meanwhile, I asked Audi of America that if they can offer a buy back since the car is faulty and we are losing both time and money on the car but they rejected the request and came to the conclusion to change the engine. The fate of the car was already decided in this decision that after running 6 k miles the car caught fire from the engine and was declared a total by insurance. The insurance took really good care and back and forth with the claim as they normally do and sending a email to **** was another mistake as they also did not deny responsibility of the fire or show empathy to us that my pregnant wife along with kids, were involved in this case. After multiple emails to Audi of America they mentioned that their Engineers will look at the car and figure out the cause.Audi of America has been involved in several class action lawsuits, primarily related to alleged defects in their vehicles. These lawsuits often involve issues with engines, turbochargers, automatic emergency braking ************** and battery defects in their e-tron models and it looks like I did not pay attention to this until I had a life-threatening incident with a very unprofessional organization with people who do not care for their customers.Review fromaudrey a

1 starSuburban Volkswagen of **************** drained my battery during service for a headlight replacement that took 3 weeks which is absolutely ridiculous. They dont want to accept fault for it & instead said its about time your car gets a battery changed anyway when my battery was at 60% prior with 50% health left. Very unprofessional and terrible advisors. I had better luck getting an update on my vehicle from the service appointment girls than the actual service advisors or manager who left me his number but NEVER returned my phone calls.Review fromDavid F

1 starI am giving ** 0 stars. Their customer service is as poor as the quality of their vehicles. I bought a 2019 VW Tiguan in Sept 2022 with 45K miles on it and before it hit 76K miles Ive had to have the entire sunroof replaced, the engine, the transmission and the windshield washer pump. I submitted a buy back request in Feb 2025 and was told it would take 60 days. I followed up at 60 days and was told it could take up to 65 days after that passed I followed up again and was told 90 days. Now I am being told they dont know how long it could take to get a resolution. They wont let me talk to the person handling my case nor with they escalate the call to management. This is such poor customer service.Review fromMaria M

1 starMy experience with Volkswagen of America, Volkswagen Credit, just Volkswagen in general has been a pain in my ass! Im currently in the process of doing a buyback. I ran a software update on my vehicle and it completely crashed the car!!!!! I couldnt even get into the vehicle, couldnt unlock it or anything! Had to pay and get it towed to the closest dealership, ************** Volkswagen here in **. I was out of my car for almost 3 months!!! Lost money, all the mental anguish and frustration just kept piling on. Then once I got the car back Volkswagen wants to repo it bc I didnt pay the note while it was in the shop for an issue they caused! I want notified about the recall on the software update prior to running it! So now theyre trying to s**** me 5 ways to Sunday! Why pay for something I cant use and trying to repo during a buyback!!?? Insane. NEVER INVEST IN A VOLKSWAGEN EVER AGAIN!!!Review fromStephanie B

1 starI very rarely feel the need to write negative reviews, but our experience with AutoNation Volkswagen Carlsbad and Volkswagen Group of America could not have been more disappointing and frustrating. Two years ago my partner and I leased a Volkswagen ID 4. Over time we noticed several concerning issues with the vehicle including the passenger door malfunctioning, and issues with the screen and break sensors. We brought these issues up at the first scheduled maintenance and were told that they didn't see anything wrong with the vehicle. We continued to raise these issues but were rebuffed. Fast forward, we have received SEVERAL recall notices, including the door malfunction and screen issues (at some point Volkswagen even paused manufacturing on ID 4 due to the recalls). It got to the point where we did not feel safe driving the car. We kept calling and asking to speak with someone at AutoNation but no one returned our call. Finally, we asked for a manger's email address and emailed him to request to terminate the lease due to all the safety concerns as well as the horrible customer service and lack of follow up. We did not receive a response to the email. We then went in person to AutoNation Volkswagen Carlsbad and had to walk into the managers office. The manager said we needed to contact Volkswagen Group of America. After three failed numbers and hours on hold we finally put in a repurchase/replacement request with Volkswagen Group of America. We spoke with several people, supplied maintenance records and prior complaints. We received an email that the request was denied with no opportunity to challenge the decision or even have a follow up call for an explanation. We ended up returning the vehicle and paying out the rest of the lease just to be done with this car and with Volkswagen. I would avoid AutoNation Volkswagen Carlsbad and Volkswagen altogether if you are looking for any quality in your vehicle or a decent customer service experience.Review fromRebekah B

1 starI have on numerous occasions had to take cars in for warranty or recall reasons. The company refuses to release parts for these actions until the car is in hand at a dealership. This makes it so that the customer is without a car for an extra amount of time while waiting for a part that could have been ordered and delivered prior to car drop off. The Volkswagen customer care team said that was their policy and that's that. I have not had my car for over 3 weeks and the maintenance was for diesel gate... they should have known all the parts and tools prior to drop off and should have ordered them when the appointment was made. But, Volkswagen of America does not allow the parts to be released until the car is at the shop!!! The maintenance descriptions apparently do not tell you what parts/tools you need up front either. (Like a recipe) So, they have been slowly ordering parts and tools over the last 3+ weeks!! This has been an awful experience.Review fromToni R

1 starI would give zero stars if i could! ******************** and business . I have a 22 tiguan , was in the service shop for 6 months multiple issues regarding the fuel pump , fuel tank , cluster & smaller issues . Car was leaking gas and stinking out the inside with my kid in the car , they cracked my windshield while in the shop ( dont want to pay for it ) but will make me pay when the lease is up. Reached out to corporate and spoke with managers at the dealer , everyone wants to help but end up giving me s*** and wanting me to sign saying i wouldn't try to sue them if the problems reoccur. They dont even want to write a documented letter stating they will take responsibility if something happens since multiple times i was stuck on the road with my baby. First time buying from them and never again. They take no accountability. Morning forward we should stick with cars made in our actual country .Review fromKa K

1 starBesides not fixing programs during the warranty, the lease program is run by crooks. They do not follow the rules in the booklet they send at the end of the lease and charge extra.Review fromMak S

1 starPurchased a brand new 2024 ***** and they have a faulty infotainment system.... it's been going on for months and progressively getting worse. The screen get static lines across it where you can read anything and some times goes completly black and you lose all your features and sensor because everything is controlled on that screen. We've been to the dealership and there is no fix for it. Call vw for a buy back and they won't do a buy back until I have had 3 repairs done. I said ok but then turns out they aren't approving any parts to attempt repairs on the infotainment system because they don't have a fix. By doing that they trap their customers in being stuck witha broken vehicle and you can do anything. Spent way to much money on this vehicle to have it broken. So frustrated.Review fromJulie O

1 starMy husband and I were big ** fans for years. I currently drive a 2022 Tiguanmy 2nd. Previously I had a 2019 Tiguan. They are both leases. My 2022 vehicle required the monitor on the console (menu, radio, backup camera, etc) to be replaced within a few months of driving this new vehicle, so at this juncture the screen is currently the 2nd one needed in less than 3 years. It has never worked correctly from day 1. A person at the service department had to show me how to reset it in order to get it to work on occasion. Finally, a few weeks ago, it just went completely black and dead. No backup camera, no device charging, no radio, no menu, no changing the clocknothing but blackness. The dealership wants to charge me almost $2,000 because its out of warranty due to my mileage. This is a ** issue and has been from the beginning. ** should stand by its product. A vehicle that is less than 3 years old should FUNCTION. This is absolutely reprehensible that ** would sell such a terrible product. The salesman at the dealership knew my situation from the beginning-they had the records of this vehicles problems and he promised to get me a coupon to defray the cost. I explained that it was about the principle and the fact that the car isnt even 3 years old and this has been a problem from day 1. The company should stand behind their product. I will never go back to **. I am going to ****** to get out of my lease and purchase a vehicle that firstly retains value and secondly, stands behind its product. Vehicles are too expensive these days to spend all that money for a company NOT to stand behind its product and make it right.
