1 starThis school might be regionally accredited, but they are truly a diploma mill. The courses are easy so they can retain you as a student, but many employers know this and will not hire you because it is too easy. You do not have a professor like you do in a traditional university. Instead, you have teacher assistants also known as TAs. This is a group of individuals who will put your assignments on an assembly line. The professor will write generic comments and the teacher assistants will copy and paste the comments, so you will be the only one to have that comment in your class, but other students in other sections will receive the exact same comment. The same is true with grading as these TAs will also do all the grading and your comments will be a generic copy and paste. Your email responses is often by a TA or the TA manager. Seldom will a professor answer your email and the professor will never grade an assignment nor will they ever comment to your discussion boards. Is this the type of education you want?Review fromELENILSON R

I started online classes as of 10/2/23, enrolled since 9/26/23. Strayer University Financial aid has "red flagged" My student account with an "Identity Verification form" and froze all award money for the fall quarter for what ever reason. This delay has caused me to be evicted from my student housing (which currently I am living on the street) homeless, delayed my time from my classes, and forced me to drop from the school itself. I have followed instructions and complied with 28 submission attempts over a months worth of submissions of documentation and supporting documentation in the student online portal. Now, every time I would get in contact with Strayer Financial Aid or the "F.A.S.T. team" whether it be via online chat, e-mail, and phone, there is NO getting direct help or a means of expediting a document that has been submitted and needing direct attention from their "verification team." Yet, once I request to be dropped from courses and school, Financial aid is really prompt in dropping my student account and charge me their dropping fees. I find that very ironic to believe that they will take their sweet time in "disbursing" award aid money from FASFA aka Pell grant, be slow, very snail-like slow in "disbursing" any additional award aid money from the SCHOOL LOANS under YOUR NAME, yet when it comes to charging for a means of a measly means of an education, Financial Aid will be lightning fast to charge you what their "drop fees" are and not take accountability on their side of releasing government assistance. What I also do not come to understand, is the same identification, same documentation I used to ENROLL into strayer University through ADMISSIONS, Financial aid department will not use to satisfy their "identity verification form" red flag process by any means...(more review here: *********************************************************************)Strayer University

1 starWhen I started Strayer University it was recommended and paid for it - things were good. This past term I have had the worst experience with the school and would not recommend to anyone. At the beginning of the term I was realizing that my financial aid was not going through - I reached out to my success coach and said that if it could not be fixed that I did not want to continue classes - she told me that I had until the end of the term to get it figured out and that she would help me - like a fool I continued with classes. I talked to financial aid and they told me that I needed to have an accountant complete an amended tax return. I spent $200 having my taxes amended only for financial aid reject them. Each time I call I get a different story but no real answers. I talked to my job coach again and she told me that I should take my taxes to H&R Block and have them redone or to modify the income to an incorrect amount. Supposedly a supervisor has been trying to call me to resolve this but they say it goes to a voicemail that is full even though I am able to get messages from other people. I have never dealt with a business that constantly lies to its customer (students). I know strayer is out to make money but why would they not want their students to (1) get their degree and (2) succeed at their school? I do not know if it is coincidence or not but this past term there has been so many system issues where I could not do school work when I wanted to, but some of the professors would not allow extra time for homework. Be smarter than me and pick ANY school over Strayer - you will thank yourself for itReview fromPaul A

If I could give this cool less than one star, I would do that. Strayer university. I was attempting to earn a bachelors degree in business and had some of my credits transferred over so I had a reasonable amount of credits to finish. I got diagnosed with end-stage renal disease, and was hospitalized for a decent amount of time. Upon my attempt to return to school I never received any help from Strayer university and was left with approximately 10 remaining quarters. It is my opinion that the school is a predatory school, and takes advantage of its students financial aid and naiveness regarding higher education learning.Strayer University

This school is not worth signing up for, I signed up and told I would be able to transfer over time to nursing later to find out the got rid of the program. Then I received my Associates in 2021 finished my Bachelors in 2023 with completing my last class on Sophia. Was asked to sign up for last semester when I informed that I completed the class and got Sophia to transfer over my transcript. Not even a week later I received an email saying I cheated on two bonus questions that was optional and that I allowed someone to sign in and complete them. I was told I was receiving an F and kicked out before receiving my Bachelors. Which I'm currently appealing its been almost a month and I haven't heard anything. Just slap in the face to a single mother who dedicated he time and money to better herself with nonsense of letting someone log in and complete a bonus question that's not mandatory and don't really help your grade.Strayer University

1 starI have been given the run around and threatened with sanctions for calling to get clarification about certain issues regarding my enrollment at strayer university. I get conflicting information from different sources every time I call. I get placed on hold for more than an hour and no one comes back to the phone. They transfer me from one line to another saying there was a problem with the phone and just leave me there unanswered. My coach threatens me with sanctions for calling to get clarity as if I’m not paying for this education. My emails go unanswered nothing gets resolved and I again get threatened with sanctions. I’m a veteran of the army and have been working with some of the military coaches at strayer with which nothing has been resolved and my questions and concerned go unanswered. I will be filing a complaint with higher educationReview fromPorshea H

1 starI have been attending Strayer University for almost 4 years I was set to finish this upcoming school year. Randomly I got a email from the Provost office stating that I have been expelled and to submit an appeal as well as evidence. I did just that. They did not provide me an actual reason or any evidence to back their claims. They didn’t even give me a hearing. They flat out said it wasn’t enough evidence again how can you provide evidence when they didn’t even tell you what you did. They took my financial aid and kicked me out for no reason. And come to find out they have a habit of doing this. Please be careful with this school as they will take almost 4 years of your money now your stuck with student loan debt and no degree and a expulsion on your record and for no reason and no one can provide you a reasoning behind it accept what they decided to make up to justify their agenda.Review fromSarah S

My biggest regret is enrolling @ Strayer. When I enrolled I was told all classes are available on campus as well as online, that is a complete LIE. The basic gen ed classes are usually available on campus but every other course is only online unless you can find enough students who want to enroll for that class then the school will consider having that class on campus for one quarter. The financial department are really awful, I was enrolled using financial aid, but at some point the financial aid was no longer available and they never informed me, they just started hounding me about paying a balance I never knew I had, additionally if I had known the bill I was racking up I would not have enrolled that quarter since I had no way to pay at all. I dropped that class since I couldn't pay and still had to pay over $1000 on the class I dropped. Strayer provides a "graduation fund" which is supposed to cover tuition for your final classes. I had to drop a class for personal reasons, and now I can't use the graduation fund at all. There is $12k in that imaginary fund but I still have to pay out of pocket for my last four classes. Strayer has no interest in making sure their students have what they need to graduate, they ONLY contact me for payment arrangements. I've reached out to my "success coach" about my difficulty paying for my final classes and she keeps saying, oh this person or that person is not available I'll get back to you tomorrow, well weeks have gone by without any follow up. Also my success coach changes all the time, I never have one coach for more than a quarter or two, which shows me they are probably not a great place to work. I've been very frustrated with Strayer for years, but to add insult to injury most of my credits do not transfer so I have to start over at a different school or continue being extorted by Strayer. Please DO NOT ENROLL will this scam of a school.Strayer University

I attended Strayer a while back in 2021 for information technology in bachelors was told by a rep if I passed two class and not failed that I was going to get financial aid so when I waited for the school to call me they was talking about something about the other school would not give me finance. and the two classes I took I have to sallie or have someone paid for school which is bullshit you told me after paying for college that I was going to get financial aid. I told them dont register me for any class and now im left paying 2,365 out of pocket. I think legal action is force to be taken and this school needs to be shut down remember older people has always said that God does not like ugly and your company is going to get theres for scamming people want an education not to be played with.Strayer University

Mrs. Karnes or to whom it may concern. I'm a graduate student at Strayer University for the past year or year and a half we have been force to tack classes online do to COVID. Now going into year two things in the DMV area and other states have opened back Strayer has even allowed their faculty to return to work. Our children from elementary school to High school has free education the school board set a date for all students to return to school and we as parents had to go with it and what restrictions are being put in place. Even the CDC stated we don't have to wear mask any more and the Federal government open it doors. I would like to discuss when will we get to be notified on when will classes be returning. I know I'm not the only one that has raised this issue of when the class will be back on campus. I would like to have some type of answer because I have children just like the Majority of the students and staff our children have been in school for 2 years and the parents do not have a say. Strayer needs to take in the account that every student learns different. I pay for my education and I did not get any choice to how I get to handle my education. Now the CDC stated no more mask or Quarantine mandates even the Federal Government is back open. Again I pay for my education and don't get a choice or any type of correspondence on how long class will not be on campus. But it is ok for the staff member to go to work but I pay for my education and I didn't get a choice or any type of option and before you say tutoring the tutoring is not face to face I have to leave a message explaining my situation or problems then wait for some to get back to me. I need answer I'm entitled to some answer I pay for my education. If the President and Vice President of Strayer University doesn't feel the need to answer students maybe they will answer the news media? Octavius J******Strayer University
