Never again. One of my biggest regrets. I cant wait to pay this car loan off. Rude, unprofessional customer service. Employees cant t seem to complete simple tasks like applying loan payments as instructed. The CEO is worth billions of dollars and his common customers are treated unprofessionally. Typical for this time era. Every month I find myself arguing with this company about a simple principal payment. Just recently they illegally took out interest from my principal payment. I notified them to be met with rudeness and unprofessionalism, resulting in an argument. Whom wouldnt argue the point, it is coming out of my pocket, not theirs. Im doing what I should paying the loan off, the legal thing to do. While they continue to attempt to get as much interest as possible, even if it means providing inadequate service to their customers. The worst company I have ever dealt with. I only wish I read these reviews prior to dealing with them.PenFed Credit Union

My Mom is 84 years old and lives in a nursing home. The family sold her house to pay for her stay in the facility. ******** performed an audit of her file because of the home sale, which was explained to us as routine. We provided all the documents and then a statement from PenFed arrived at my sister's home (where mail was being forwarded to) stating that balance in an *** account was $5.03. We sent the document to ******** and they stated they needed statements from December 2022 through December 2024. We contacted PenFed and explained the situation and all we asked for was the statements for the requested time frame. I had my Mom on a 3-way call with PenFed and she answered their questions to verify identity and they asked if they could send a link to the her cellphone and do a "visual verification." We stated she had a basic cellphone and can't do that. We tried to add her cellphone to the account and ********************** stated we had to submit Power of Attorney documents in the mail, but upload 2 separate signed and notarized forms as well. The *** couldn't explain the forms to me when I asked questions, and all I want is for them to sent statements to the ******** ***resentative. That's it. I'm trying to get my Mom approved for ******** because we don't have money. She has $5 with PenFed, not millions, but they treated us as criminals. They wouldn't let us update the phone number on file after explaining the old number no longer existed since the house was sold. They don't care, and because of their lack of assistance my Mom was denied ******** since they did not receive all of the statements. I honestly don't know what will happen to my Mom . I know this review will likely go nowhere but at least my pain is documented now and I pray no one else is denied ******** when hitting roadblocks like this from companies who won't do the simple things of providing statements as requested by their customers. ********************** is horrific for their actions and in doing more harm to people.PenFed Credit Union

Not a good Credit Union. I had an account here and they blocked Zelle for no reason. I sent money to my father, that was all it took for them to block the feature (only $300). No only that, they are very controlling with your money. With purchases limits. I do not recommend this CU, Navy Federal and BECU are better credit unions, they also allow you to send 2k+ via Zelle per day. Only good thing about PenFed, is that you get paid to days early, but nowadays, even banks like ******* offers that and they offer a enhanced MasterCard where you can spend more with your debit card in comparison to PenFed. I dont see the ** as members owned, I rather do business with a local bank.PenFed Credit Union

Run, they have ZERO customer support, I've been with them for 3 years and never have I missed or been late and they refuse to up my credit line by $55.00. They refused to provide customer service. They refused to lift the hold that they place on ur card before 1 week is up, EVEN THOUGH THEY RECEIVED PMT IN FULL A WEEK PRIOR. They are making money off of people's money. They take zero risk, and what business besides them take zero risk.. none. All business take risk. But they treat there customers like dirt. I'm in the process of leaving this pile of p*** as soon and as fast as I can.Let this be a beware for you. DONT DO IT. there is some cc company out there that still cares. It's not penfed.... and it's not ************ These 2 are the worst of the worst. I ran a business 30 years and never could I nor would I treat a customer as these two. I have never in my life delt with such substandard, bad service, bad employees, as if u care zero about your customers at all. The truth is , I have since applied for a card and was approved for 10 times the limit that u kept me down and low with. I was approved with the bank with flying colors. It needs to be known that good citizens do not need a credit union as you. Your so tight, non-flexible, no customer oriented I don't know of any one that would even keep an account open with you. I will soon be closing my account down, ripping up my plastic card that has a minor aged child limit on it. I hope and pray no one falls into the trap that you this credit union does to people. I'm so happy to be leaving this no good for nothing so called business. I think the feds needs to come in and look at how poorly you run your operation. Penfed has been a thorn in my heart since day 1 of being introduced to yaw. I do not recommend penfed ZERO to any1.Review fromTom R

Went to cash a check from another penfed member a family member. Ms. ********* the asst. **** Refused to oblige based on profiling. Had presented proper government identification including verification from the source of the person since they said they could not. She also further refused assistance as to my account. Explained to corporate office and no apology nor action towards such lack of customer service and professionalism. Never a problem with my other credit union or banks. !!!!Completely ruined my credit and my partner's credit!!!!! We had a car loan with them on a 4Runner. When we got a new car and traded the 4Runner in, they didn't pay off the loan correctly! Very simple task for a lender to do. No! They created a duplicate loan and used the money from the dealership to pay one of them off. Of course, that loan went unpaid for months without us knowing. After a "late payment" alert through my credit bureau, I realized the huge mistake they had made. It's now been over 7 months with no solution. All I hear from them is a different answer on how to fix it that never works or that it's OUR fault!!! All from a different person each time. Cannot get a hold of the same person twice for some reason. Completely uncoordinated, unprofessional and downright sorry! DO NOT CHOOSE THEM!!!!!PenFed Credit Union
