      This was the worst place i could have went. The issue came when I got a new phone number and was locked out my account. i called customer service and they said they need that phone # to send me a new link. I tried again to get different "customer service reps" and they all told me the same thing. Because I got a new phone #, they couldn't help me get into my account. This awesome customer service then slowed down payments as i no longer had access to any of my information. NOW they are trying to take me to court, they stated they have tried to reach me by address , there is no mail. I have not received any papers since I opened my account. I work from home, so I am readily available for mail. avoid this credit union at all costs.

      My experience with PenFed has been a disaster. I recently got a second phone line for my mobile service. I wanted to isolate backing business from non banking business. I tried to make a online payment using my new number and was told I couldn't do that for "security reasons." I made numerous attempts to find out how I do that, without luck. Despite the ridiculous reasoning, the "PenFed solution," finally, was to send any recent household bill to verify my address and to simply write my new phone number on the bill. I did this 3 times including sending a **** Registered letter. PenFeds response was "we can't find it" I find it hard to believe any honest, decent sized credit union has no better way to change someones phone number. I have my suspicions that regular post office mail is easier to "misplace", especially when their late payment charge is one of the highest in the **. Including the time for transport in the mail, my last payment took 9 days to clear.The response to my complaints has been non-existant. They don't have an Email address that customers can access. I also think their advertising gimmick of being there for veterans is a scam. This is just one guys advice, but I recommend avoiding PenFed like the plague.

      Not only is the website inefficient and slow and the bank by phone works 50% of the time but if applying for a personal loan they jerk you around and continually come back asking for more and more informstion. Horrible!!!

      Penfed credit cards and business practices are totaly wrong ! No one should doing business with them. Empty promises, Helpless customer service to bay the bills you have to have accounts with them you don't have no choice They change their policies without any notices Their reward program totaly wrong . It's a trap .

      Penfed did no investigation on the property we were buying prior to sending us through escrow. Ultimately, they said they would not finance our home when we were within 10 days of closing escrow. Leaving us to scramble for a new loan company to fund our house we were in contract for. Regardless of having all the property information for about ************************************************************************************************************************************* a very complex spot.DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL

      I am very disappointed in how I was handled today. I called on 5/31/2024 to set up a payment over the phone with a representative. I scheduled the payment to come out on 6/7/2024. The representative *** went over the payment disclosure with me at which time I realized she did not set up payment for the correct day. I informed her that the date was wrong, that she had dated the payment to withdraw on 6/4/2024 and not 6/7/2024. She put me on hold and returned to the line and informed me that everything was corrected and I would receive and email. Before ending the call I restated that the funds would be withdrawn on the 7th and she assured me that it would. On 6/4/2024 the money attempted to withdraw from my account and resulted in an overdrawn account. I called and spoke with **** and she explained what happened. I was extremely upset and asked to speak with a supervisor and **** informed me that her support team refused to let me speak with a manager. After much protesting on my end that as a consumer I was not permitted to speak with someone of authority about this matter; a women by the name of *** got on the phone stating that she was a supervisor. She refused to give me her last name and was very **** with me. She then explained that *** the original representative I spoke with failed to inform me that she put the payment in to be removed on the 3rd and lied and said that it was set up for the 7th. I would have never gone as far as filing a complaint because previous representatives have handled me with care, but this team of individuals today were very **** with me and seemed to not care that this incident caused a huge impact on my life.

      It's like they don't want me as a customer. I keep getting the same message that my application will be ran in 48 hours for the past two weeks. I was trying to get a pre-approval and was forced to go to dealership to proceed. I now have 3 days to provide payment to the dealership and penfeds response is oh yea give us 48 hours.

      They are one of the worst credit unions I have ever dealt with in my life. In the year 2024 I can not link my bank account which ********************** took multiple payments from to my online banking. I can not split my payments through there phone system. Member Support is horrible. There upgraded online banking is horrible. I am contacting the consumer protection bureau in the state of ************. I never seen a credit union that doesn't want to take your money.

      This is the absolute worst bank or credit union I have ever used. Since the day I opened this account Ive had issues. They have closed my debit card twice and then told me I wasnt getting another debit card. I havent done nothing wrong, nor have I received any plausible explanation of why my debit cards keep getting closed. The associates have been rude and disconcerting when it comes to assisting me and explaining anything. I have asked to speak with the security department to understand and they told me I am not allowed to speak to them at all. The letter is a generic letter detailing nothing regarding why this is happening to my account. I have never heard of such a thing. The guy told me verbatim on the phone today, we wont be issuing another debit card or reopening so thats just not an option. I am leaving to go out of the country first thing in the morning and am now stuck in a terrible situation because this is supposed to be my main bank account, They tried to get me to use a wire transfer and charge me $25 to get MY OWN MONEY, meanwhile my other account rejects wire transfers from them and I explained that to them the last time they recommended that when they randomly closed my card. They randomly stopped payment on a check I wrote for church, and I had to pay the money back to my church, they couldnt give me a reason as to why they canceled the check. Anytime I have tried to settle a matter they all regurgitate the same rhetoric and give no explanation and transfer you to departments that never are available nor do they actually answer. Do not bank with this place, whatever you do. Worst experience of my life. I will be closing my account.
