1 star******************************* Branch Manager/Securities Transfer Agent at Navy Federal Credit Union is in violation of the following regulation. I presented securities on bond paper, my TDA account information, ****** form, ID and asked that she transfer my securities through the US Gov to sell or trade them on the secondary market. ******* refused to endorse my securities and transfer them she "doesn't do that"I asked if she could explain or if I was missing information and she said "those are bills" and told me if any one else had provided me with a medallion signature that "they shouldn't"I asked for an explanation or if I was incorrectly submitting them and she said "those are bills" I explained they are debt securities and she refused to assist me or guide in any form. I told her Navy Fed provides Medallion Stamps and that was why I went to the location and she said "they shouldn't" and that she "wouldn't do it"no explanation was provided as to why she refused to transfer my securities (valued at approx $12,186.96)VIOLATION OF 31 CFR ***** General instructions and liability.(a) The certifying officer ******** Require the person presenting a bond, or an appropriate ************** transaction form, to establish his or her identity in accordance with Department of the Treasury instructions and identification guidelines;(2) Place a notation on the back of the bond or on the appropriate ************** transaction form, or in a separate record, showing exactly how identification was established; and (3) Affix, as part of the certification, his or her official signature, title, seal or issuing or paying agent's stamp, address, and the date of execution.(b) The certifying officer and, if such person is an officer or an employee of an organization, the organization will be held fully responsible for the adequacy of the identification.(c) A signature guaranteed stamp under the Securities Transfer Agents Medallion Program (STAMP) is an acceptable official seal.Review fromCillacede A

1 starObviously, the disgruntled people will leave a review. I would give them zero stars if I could, but had to select one to make the review. We applied for car loan financing through NFCU. We had never used them before and my husband is retired military. We joined in January 2024. We have outstanding credit across the board (well into the 800's) and have always qualified for the lowest possible loan rate whenever we have applied elsewhere. Well, we were extremely surprised when NCFU came back to us with an 8% interest rate; their lowest advertised is 5.69% for a used car. Even with outstanding credit and well-paying jobs. I spent 3 days talking to various people on the phone and even went into the local branch and got zero info on how they make their decisions. We even thought maybe we should switch my husband as primary and put me as primary because my credit score is 840 and I make a little more than him. Well, when we did that, the rate came back even higher, at 9.6%. That made absolutely no logical sense at all. So after speaking with someone in customer service, it appears that NFCU makes arbitrary decisions, and their decision-making is proprietary; they don't need to be honest and up front. Now we have a hard check on a credit report for loan that we would never agree to, nor would we ever have anticipated to get a loan rate this high, with excellent credit, and the recommended DTI (not too high, not too low). Stay away, very far away from using them for an auto loan. Their decisions are opaque, at best, and their customer service was not helpful at all. Not a single person could give me a straight answer except to say "I'm sorry", after very long pauses.Review fromDarlessia A

1 starAfter being a loyal member,my account was closed & to this day everyone I talked to gave me the run around or was told they couldnt speak to me about it.I received an email saying my account was being restricted due to suspicious activity & to call immediately.I called right away & the young lady told me she couldnt tell me what was going on with my account all she knew was that I was participating in zelle fraud, which offended me because not now or in the past have I ever been a criminal or participated in any criminal activities.I stated that & she got mad & told me to refrain from using that language but I expressed I felt disrespected & asked to speak to a manager.Once the manager got on the line she became just as rude & told me she also couldnt speak on my account. At this point I was locked out of my accounts & no one had answers to any questions I had. They kept telling me my account was being closed. So I asked to be transferred to another department over the management that could talk to me.She transferred me to the security department.I set on hold for almost ***********************************************************I spoke to someone. She immediately got on the phone & tried to help me.The entire time shes asking them so I cant tell her that,am I allowed to discuss that with her? I cried my heart out in that branch because no one wanted to give me answers but was closing my account. She got off the phone & tried to offer me 1/2 the money I had in my accounts.I declined. I said do your investigation because if youre going to close my account I want all my money.days later I called customer service again.Just to reach another rude employee,he really didnt want to give me his name.He told me my account was being closed because I was a risk factor& that there wasnt nothing else to talk about.Im on the phone pleading my case. How am I a risk factor if Im the *********** money was affected? How come they didnt protect me as a member?just wrongReview fromlionel b

1 starI applied for a mortgage refinance loan on 7.19.24, received e disclosures and uploaded requested documents. As of 8.5.24 I have not heard from anyone regarding the status of my application. I contacted my loan rep multiple times via telephone and email and have not received a response. Very shady business practices. Advertise great rates and service but everything is the complete opposite.Review fromHoraceJ B

1 starI have come to an educated guess that Black people are not wanted here!!! The people who work here actually advise blacks to handle there business on line and not inside the banks... Please check your accounts often because 5. Dollars missing or 10 dollars missing will add up to very much over a period of time....!!!Review fromBryce J

1 starMy husband and I have been members of Navy Federal Credit Union for years. We had personal and businesses accounts with them until August 2, 2024. Its always something with this credit union. My husband and I trusted Navy Federal to protect our money and they failed us. They allow people to make false claims against your account without notifying you, charging you fees on the most ridiculous things and they do not protect their customers. Im really disappointed in this *********************************************. I will not recommend anybody to open an account with them. My husband and I final straw was yesterday. Navy Federal allowed someone to take $1300 out our business account through Zelle, stating we committed a fraud. My husband called Navy Federal as a loyal customer and they said we needed to call *****. We trusted them to protect our funds and again they had no concerns to investigate. We closed all our accounts with Navy ******************** on yesterday. This is the worst credit union to put your trust in. I wouldnt recommend them to anyone??Review fromshakira p

1 starI regret to share my experience with this bank, as I have faced ongoing issues that have significantly impacted my banking experience. Every time I make a check deposit, the bank places holds on my account and raises potential fraud charges. This pattern has been frustrating and inconvenient, making it difficult for me to access my funds when I need them.Review fromEricka C

1 starI would like to file a complaint against Navy Federal Credit Union. I attempted to re finance my vehicle through this bank institution and specifically informed the representative on a recorded line that I did not want GAP to be added into my loan. I wanted to pay it out of pocket. Under his own Agenda he rolled it i to the loan for more benefit to the institution at my expense. When I contacted Navy Fed regarding the issue and requesting GAP to be removed and loan amount adjusted to what it should be. I was told the only way to do it was to accept the loan for what it was by signing regardless if I am NOT in agreement with or cancel the application and reapply with another hard pull on my credit. I stressed that it was a Navy Federal Credit Union error not the customers. So why should the customer suffer these consequences. And they stood their ground and said these are the only 2 options. Navy Federal cannot be trusted and nor do they seem to accept full responsibility for their errors. Please protect your assets that you may have with them because you, the Customer, will have the most to lose.Review fromVeronica B

1 starNavy federal uses Service Members as a **** to get business! There rates are way higher than any other institution and they lure military members because they are guaranteed a check on the 1st and 15th. Do not go to them for any type of loan! For example I have a home improvement loan for 37k the interest rate is 16% which is $10 a day in interest!!! I was on SCRA so I didnt really see the interest at that time. This is highway robbery and my credit score is above 715 so credit isnt the problem! I have a home improvement loan for my pool that I just built with a different institution and the interest rate is 7%. The pool loan is way more than my navy federal loan. Again Navy federal is a scam!!! Stay away!Review fromDavid D

1 starI have been a loyal Navy Federal Credit Union member for almost 20 years. I am also a very brand loyal consumer. However, after the way I was treated this past Wednesday, I am going to take my finances and related needs to another institution.I needed to borrow some money to replace my 20-year-old air conditioner. I have most of the funds available in my checking account but doing any kind of home improvement is always an expensive task. I was short about $10,000. I called NFCU and was transferred to a loan agent. After he collected personal and financial information from me, he stated that a 36 month loan for $10,000 was available. He stated that the interest rate was 9.9%. I have a close to exceptional credit rating and did not think there would be any issues. When the computer finished processing my request, the interest rate was 19.9%. I inquired why the jump. He could not explain. I expressed that I could get a lower rate by pulling cash out from my NFCU credit card and this did not make any sense. I did not feel very valued and quite honestly felt like they were trying to scam me. After I settled down a little bit, I called NFCU back to get more information on what the problem was. I talked to a different person who was absolutely rude. I expressed that I was a disabled veteran that had just gone through two major storms; a derecho and a hurricane. No compassion whatsoever from the agent. The bottom line is this...it is obvious that they do not have human beings on the back end making decisions. I do know that they use artificial intelligence for some of their functions and you have to tell them that you want to opt out of that. I strongly encourage any member to opt out of AI...it is your option. When I was looking around to see where I could post this review, I did see an article on the discriminatory practices, based on skin color, of NFCU and I wonder if this was a factor when determining my eligibility for a loan. Only the robots know.
