1 starI woke up to water coming through my bathroom ceiling with water on my bathroom floor leaking through to the condo owner below. As a former HVAC mechanic investigated to find a pinhole in a section of plastic supply line. I commenced to call Kell am to try to get an emergency repair done. After agreeing to them "hopefully" getting someone out to fix it I commenced to tear down the ceiling to attempt on my own to slow the leak. My in unit shut off did not completely shut off my water supply. I did manage to slow the flow and with plastic and aluminum foil build a trough to direct the water into the bathtub. Hours latter a service man arrived and saw what was needed to solve my problem. He told me that he charges $***+ for this call. Its what Kell am says this job is worth. I was utterly amazed when the job that he would need to do would take him approximately 20 minutes. I did all the trouble shooting, demolition, opened up the ceiling to make this repair simple enough for a apprentice with a few tools to accomplish. When I called to talk to the owner I was told he was not in. I explained that I believed that this was a outrageous charge for the time Kell am had invested and if someone did not respond to me that day I would do my best to make everyone I know just how unfair the billing practices of Kellam are. Why couldn't this had been charged as simply a service, repair hourly rate charged job? Even the service tech in his bill noted that the homeowner had the problem exposed. He could have also added that I had the ladder even set up for him. If I would had gone and bought the fittings necessary by time they got there I probably would have had it repaired on my own, however being in a condo I called in the "professionals". 5 starsWe have been using Kellam Mechanical for over 20 years and have had several different technicians over the years. Our most recent visit was from an employee by the name of Wade ** and his apprentice JB. From the initial greeting, they were both friendly, professional and very courteous. After the review of our HVAC system, Wade gave us a very informative analysis. They both took great pains to keep our residence clean and neat. They also provided us many pictures of our HVAC system. These two employees are the type of persons Kellam Mechanical should be very proud to have them representing their outstanding business. 1 starKellam Mechanical didn't provide me Emergency service on this weekend even I have membership with them. Air Condition issue Kellam fixed on Aril 7th 2025 and it's failed again. I called them on Saturday evening to see they can get someone on Saturday night or Sunday. I called 7 times Saturday and Sunday to see Kellam can help me on the situation. Finally Customer representative confirmed by Sunday afternoon that they don't find on call support person available to check the issue and promised me that they will check the issue Monday first thing in the morning. The technician is not yet arrive in my house till now. Not sure how Kellam Mechanical is getting high reviews in Google rating. Longtime Kellam customer, until today that is. Technician arrived and complained to customer of injuring himself playing basketball the day prior, and was hobbling around while trying to correct an issue with A/C Unit. Communication with customer was horrible. Quoted me one price and when I asked about the total, agreed to repairs. Once I received the total it wasn't the agreed upon price, and when I confronted the technician about it, he in not so many words called me a liar. $**** in repairs, I expect a technician to verify work, and whether A/C was working before he left . Severely overcharged for the work that was actually performed. Paid the bill just to get the technician out of my home, as it seemed like he didn't want to be here from the moment he got here. Called Kellam to complain about the work and the lady on the phone was sarcastic, rude, and unprofessional. Could have bought a brand new A/C Condenser unit for $****. The second technician that arrived was outstanding, verifying A/C unit was repaired and operational, and was very professional. If the 2nd technican hadn't come out, this would have been a 0 star review.Kellam Mechanical, Inc.

< 18 months after the installation of a new heat pump for my home a part failed causing zero cooling in my home. With in about 48 hours Kellam Mechanical provided professional service to heat pump unit returning cooling back to my home. After being a home owner for over 27 years and dealing with many other HVAC Companies I would recommend Kellam as my number 1 selection. My AC unit crashed unexpectedly 10 days ago, and Kellam had Technician Blake out to my house that same afternoon! In just 3 days, Bobby and Austin had replaced the entire unit. Also had Hunter and Jacob out to clean the airducts. All, including the phone staff, were very friendly and professional. Also left the house cleaner than they found it. :+) They were all happy to play with and love on my two rather rambunctious dogs, which is a huge plus in my book! I will definitely be using them in the future!.

I had duct work done on my house. The initial walk through/inspection of the job at hand was done by one of their trusted techs who had been to my house previously. He was very vague at what the job would entail and indicated the job would cost me $****** which I paid $***** up front. After conversation with the lead tech the next day who was not the same person who did the walk through the day before I learned that there would be an issue. Their lead person did his own walk through and said “We can mostly do the job but can’t do the floor repair behind it.” I called Kellam and asked if they had a flooring company that could do the repairs? I was given a company name they had supposedly used numerous times. The other part of the job is I was initially considering having my bathroom duct vents to also be uniform with the rest of the house which meant cutting tile. I’m glad I didn’t go through with the bathroom part because of where the finished product would have been. I went a 1 1/2 months during the winter with my house exposed to the elements in some way waiting to hear from the flooring company. The extent of what they did was send two different people to my house to do the exact same walk through and then nothing happened afterwards. I got tired of waiting so luckily I was able to find an outside person to do what nobody else would do. Kellam only removed $*** off of their entire bill against the job for not doing anything with my bathroom floors which I don’t think they would have even done that had I not said something. That was fine but if your techs could only cut new openings in my floors and not do the repair of the previous openings then why would they still charge me the full $******? I would have never agreed to a job that could only be 3/4 done. I have now seen that they are money driven and are okay with disregarding a customer who has paid them more than I ever should have and yet they have an almost 5 star rating? How? Thank you for giving us the opportunity to replace your ductwork, we greatly appreciate your business. During a discussion with our manager and technician 6 months ago they explained to you that the proposal included ductwork replacement only, stating that we do not do flooring repairs. We regret the flooring company delayed your project exposing your home to the elements. Our walk-through inspections focused on the workmanship of the ductwork installation which resulted in proper quality assurance. The size of the new 4” floor registers hindered our ability to use the existing 2” holes due to the wall placement, leading us to relocate the floor registers. This solution allowed for better airflow in your home. You found an outside person to fix your flooring as expected. Our job was completed based on what was proposed and discussed. Solving customers comfort issues is our primary driver and we do not intend to disregard any customers, so we regret that you are unhappy. Thank you for addressing the refund. We did not feel comfortable cutting into your bathroom tile concerned about potential damage, so we refunded the $*** you were entitled to for the reimbursement of the registers we did not install. Since our managers have conversed with you about these complaints, we invite you to reach out to a BBB mediator with the goal of coming to a resolution. Technician Tony ****** came to quote us to replace 4 external electrical outlets we'd had problems with and were concerned about their safety. When we asked if he could do the work that same day, he managed this, despite finding some additional issues and needing to purchase parts.
The whole time he was professional, knowledgeable, courteous and genuine. When he finished, we were confident that things had been done right this time and we were safe.
