Their website states a safe pressure free environment. After 1.5 months I reached out to cancel & have been met with ******************** The men act as if theyve never seen a woman before & will begin to stalk/harass you, I was informed by their resolution department that they arent here to ensure womens safety. Theres men telling me they attend events FOR ME, I dont state my full name yet they find me & continuously request me on social media, Ive let men politely know im not interested & have still been followed around during the entire event. How is this a safe environment? As a woman why would I continue to sign up & ***** events with desperate unhinged men. They claim to do background checks during sign-up but I feel that this is a lie. They said I can pay $2k to cancel after the hundreds Ive already spent, they even charged my credit card on file after I communicated via email to remove it from autopay, the resolutions manager is a male & attempted to state my claims arent valid. Ms. Agnew signed up for a membership with our company on 04/15/2025. She requested to cancel with our company on 06/02/2025 which is outside of the cancellation policy. Her remaining balance still remains owed to our company. Our Resolutions Specialist reached out to her to discuss options to close out her account, never would we tell her “That they aren’t here to ensure women’s safety.” We take the safety and comfort of all of our members seriously. She was asked to outline her issues to us so we could investigate, as we were not aware of any issues. We have also reached out to her Event Manager over her city and no complaints were submitted to her as well.
We are currently looking into her claims and have our Event Director reaching out to her to gather more information. If any members are harassing other members we will suspend and even terminate their membership for this misconduct. We take matters like this very seriously. The monthly membership payment that was pulled on 6/15/2025 was refunded back to her card on 6/16/2025. We strongly hope that Ms. Agnew responds to our Event Director so we can do a full investigation into any members that may be causing any issues with other members.Initial Complaint

I signed up after being told it was a great way to meet singles. I was vulnerable and this sounded like a great opportunity. I was told I could contact the admins for anything and be a part of a great group. None of these things happened. The events were mostly in ******, and the ones in ******* were very downtown and bar focused. I also put my membership on freeze due to travel for work. I again put it on freeze, but they decided to let this lapse and allow my membership to expire. I was told verbatim "absolutely not" when I inquired about a refund. No conversation even though services were misrepresented and I was never able to use them.Business Response

Mr. ****** signed up with our club on 04/03/2023 for 18 months. He spoke with his Event Manager at the time and requested to freeze his account for only one month, being May 2023, we did not receive an ongoing freeze request for him. He then requested to cancel his account with us in April of 2024 which is past the timeframe for a refund.
As a courtesy we can honor a back freeze for his account, which would give him 17 months back. He can either choose to utilize the club now or keep it frozen until he is able to. I am rejecting this response because:My regional manager told me my account would be frozen for SIX months because I was travelling for work. She assured me there would be plenty of communication. She assured me there would be events within 10 miles of where I lived, which just never was the case. I never even had a true chance to enjoy the services as advertised. The fact that you're ok as a company allowing members to be in the dark, and promising things that are blatantly untrue, is very concerning. I was vulnerable, and excited to meet people my age. The group ALSO was, in average, older than I was told they would be. In addition to all of that, I tried to freeze my account again by messaging my area leader or whatever you call them. He said they'd take care of it. Now two years later I'm finding out that they never did, and I have no credit left due to this. The entire situation is uncouth, unregulated, and lacks transparency.

Im filing a complaint against Events and Adventures, a company that misrepresented the nature of their services during the enrollment process and has since refused to cancel my membership, despite delivering none of the promised benefits. On September 9, 2024, I signed a membership agreement with Events and Adventures based on the following explicit assurances from their representative: I would not have to pay to attend any events. Food and drinks would be included at these events. My initial membership fee would cover all social activities and gatherings, with no additional charges. These representations were a critical factor in my decision to sign up and pay the initial fee. When I attempted to register for my first event, I was informed that additional payments were required directly contradicting what I had been told. The terms I agreed to were not honored, and I was misled into joining under false pretenses.Business Response

*** ***** signed up for a membership with our club on 9/9/2024. He interviewed with one of our long standing employees that has been with the company for many of years and knows exactly how the club works. In the interview process we discuss the events we offer and show them the website that shows the calendar including the prices for the events. While we do offer tons of free events there are some events that do have a cost. We do not hide the fact that there is a cost to events, it is even discussed in the interview itself before *** ***** would have signed up to join. The agreement itself also states under the membership benefits that some events will have a cost. *** ***** requested to cancel his membership, we offered him different options to be able to close his account. No resolution was able to occur. *** ***** went over 180 days without making payment on his account so he was sent to our third party collections agency. I am rejecting this response because:
When I initially signed up, I made the required initial payment and also believe I paid for the first one or two months in advance. However, I have never attended a single event.
At the time of enrollment, I was clearly informed that the monthly membership fee would cover attendance at events, including food and beverages. I was not told that additional costs would be required to participate in specific events. Had I been made aware that certain events required extra payment, I would have reconsidered my decision to join. It is misleading to claim this was disclosed, as it was not communicated to me during the sign-up process.
Furthermore, I am very concerned that my account was referred to a third-party collection agency without my knowledge or consent. I did not initiate contact with this third party, nor did I authorize Events & Adventures to share my personal information with them. This referral is unjustified and should not impact my credit in any way.
Events & Adventure be responsible to contacting the third-party agency to request the removal of my information and any claims associated with my name.
Also a Written confirmation that my credit report will not be affected.

On February 6, 2025, I joined Events and Adventures. I attended 2 events and was enjoying my membership. I very unexpectedly found out I was expecting a baby. I am 43 years old and I suffer from Lupus and Scleroderma, so I was placed on a high-risk pregnancy. I will have to be on bed rest for the third trimester as well. I got a letter from my OB-GYN as requested by E&A and sent an email to the ********************** stating this. The person I spoke to suggested I date virtually. Then they asked me to ask the doctor to specifically mention in the doctor's note that I cannot be in their specific dating organization. I wanted to cancel my membership not only for medical reasons, but for ethical and emotional reasons as well, which I stated to the E&A **********************. Doctors, cannot determine what you do with your dating life when you are expecting. I stated this to them as well, and they said that they get letters like that all the time. That is unethical. I want to be granted a cancellation of this organization immediately by them.Business Response

Ms. Suarez signed up for a membership with our club on 02/03/2025 for 18 months. She requested to cancel her membership on 03/11/2025. As a courtesy we offered to close out her account due to medical reasons if she could send us a doctor’s note explaining that she was unable to utilize the club any further. The club is not a dating club, it is an activities club. We specifically state that we do not need medical information included in the note, just a legal note from her doctor stating she is not well enough to participate in the events we host. We will have Resolutions reach out to continue to work on remedying her account. I am rejecting this response because: I uploaded the website where the word - SINGLES CLUB - appears over 10 times. It says to join you have to be single and divorced. I am pregnant. I will also upload the conversation between the club and I. I cannot join anymore if I am pregnant - ALSO it is a very high risk pregnancy.Again. We suggested to Ms. Suarez that she had options to participate in the club, we in no way told her she needed to participate while she has a high risk pregnancy. We have fun events that are stationary that members can attend while at home to socialize. We also are NOT a dating club, we are a singles activity club. As long as our members are not legally married, they are welcome to attend our events. As Ms.Suarez’s situation is temporary and it was not stated in her doctor’s note she is unable to utilize our club moving forward; we offered to freeze her account or she could settle it out if she did not wish to participate further. My membership expired on February 12 with event credit in the amount of approximately $300 still in my account. I was told I would be refunded that via mailed check. I have not received the refund despite multiple emails and calls all indicating that the check is 'in process' and I will receive a call when it is mailed. It's been 10 weeks. On March 6th I had a 2 hour "interview" to join Events and Adventures, at this time I was pressured to join immediately, in order to save $1000 on my membership. At no point was I informed that I only had 3 days to cancel this membership. Additionally, background checks are promised on all members in order to join, however I can find no evidence of this actually being completed, which is their first breach of contract. This company advertises exciting, well attended events where people can make friends and find love. After going to multiple events, speaking with other people at the events and reading more online reviews, it is obvious that they are playing on people's desire for love and **************** total I have spent $291 so far, $200 to activate my account and $91 in attending additional events. The reason I am reporting this company is for false advertising and refusing to let me out of a contract when they are not upholding their end of the agreement.I have been to 4 events since joining.Event 1: new member event, the room was booked for the wrong time, I arrived at the same time as the organizer and there were only a few people who showed up.Event 2: paid $39 for a "St. ********* Day event" which had a few sad decorations, bad games and cold appetizers. I ended up just paying for my own drinks because the bartenders didn't know about the tickets. I was also supposed to receive a $10 refund for this event because I was a new member and that has not happened.Event 3: I brought a friend to this one and it was just us, 3 other women and the organizer who clearly had no idea what to do with us or how to host an event.Event 4: this event did not even happen because the reservation was made incorrectly. I paid $22 which has not been refunded.They are trying to hold me to a contract that would cost me an additional $2775, despite invalidating the contract themselves. Ms. **** signed up for a membership with our company on 3/6/2025. To become a member a potential member will meet with one of our Membership Representatives to discuss themselves, their interests, and our club. If both parties decide theyre a good fit, then we invite them to join our club. They go over the membership options with the Representative and are free to choose which option they like. If they decide not to join they can simply let our Representative know. We dont strong arm or force anyone to sign up with us. If you choose to sign up the same day we do offer a same day sign up discounted membership. The potential member is always free to take time to think about it before making a decision and reach back out to their *** to sign up at a later date.
With any contract, it is wise to read it thoroughly before signing your consent to it. We have a clear and precise cancellation policy, one that requires a signature directly below it. In bold letters it reads CANCELING YOUR MEMBERSHIP. We in no way hide this information from members.
Ms. **** has $47.00 in her event credits for her to utilize. Per our event policy any cancelled events are given back in event credits on her account. We are happy to get Ms. **** in-touch with her Event Manager to help her find more events tailored to her taste and to resolve the event issues she has run into. Our monthly events are constantly revolving as we take member suggestions for new events and try new things.
As Ms. **** is past her cancellation period for her contract, the balance remains owed to our company. If we do not receive a payment from her she is in danger of going to collections.Initial Complaint

I was led to believe that this service would be a great opportunity for socially active, confident, and successful singles to connect. However, my experience has been the exact opposite. The events I attended consistently lacked engaging, like-minded individuals, and the social atmosphere was nowhere near what was advertised.The final straw was the New Years Eve event in ********, **, which was a complete failure. Despite charging an outrageous $200 per person (on top of the $2,200 membership fee), the event was sparsely attended, poorly organized, and lacked any sense of exclusivity or quality. The food was nothing more than bar snacks, the DJs music was disjointed and uninspired, and the atmosphere was incredibly awkward. My guest and I paid $400 in total for what turned out to be an extremely disappointing experience, with little to no interaction from the other attendees because everyone is mostly socially awkward and not very attractive..This level of service is unacceptable, and I feel that Events & Adventures misrepresented itself as a viable option for singles looking to build meaningful connections. Given my dissatisfaction with the overall experience and the false advertising regarding the quality of events and attendees.I have written them several times directly and they ignore me. A contract should not be held to only one side, this place is a joke, horrible customer service and overall not what I signed up for that was heavily advertised in a very long and detailed interview for me to become a member. Our Event Manager has been in contact with Ms. ********* many times regarding her event complaints. She worked with Ms. ********* to find more events where she would feel more comfortable, however Ms. ********* was not keen to any of her suggestions. When a new member signs up with us for a membership they are able to see the current months event calendar. It has a good variety of events and what to expect with a membership with us. We are transparent with what we offer as a company. Her Event Manager is ready and willing to keep working with her to find better tailored events for her to attend.
As Ms. ********* is past her cancellation period and the payment she made on her membership remains owed. She requested to cancel outside of the cancellation period outlined in her contract. She signed her agreement and consent to all policies listed in the contract. We also require a signature below the cancellation policy to draw the signers eye to this section as it is important to read through it carefully. Much like a gym membership, we offer a service. Even though Ms. ********* is choosing not to participate nor work with her Event Manager to find more events she would enjoy, our services have been ready and available to her. In my experience, E&A does not operate in good faith. Listing numerous events on a calendar does not equate to actual opportunities for meaningful engagementespecially when its the same small group of attendees, primarily women, at each event.

I signed up and paid a $500 down payment. 10 days later I lost my job and asked them to please cancel my membership because I could not pay for it. I am rejecting this response because:It is an unethical business practice to charge someone who has already paid nearly $800 for a service that they did not ever use after circumstances beyond their control - the loss of employment and therefore income - makes it impossible to fulfill the agreement. The cancellation was submitted a few days after the short cancellation period ended, and I NEVER USED the service, so the company has not suffered a financial loss by any activity I may have participated in. A contract is a contract, but contracts should be allowed to be broken in certain circumstances, and my circumstances surely warrant a cancellation. The company received $786 from me for services never utilized.

Ms. ******** signed up with our services on 06/27/2024. She did not request to cancel her account with us until 03/06/2025, she would have needed to cancel by 07/02/2024 in order to be valid for a cancellation. As her account stands the balance remains owed to us.
We sell the club as exactly what it is. A singles activity club that brings together like minded individuals to get out and have fun while taking the stress out of scheduling a meet up. We do not market ourselves as a discount club, we take all the planning and worrying out of meeting people. We do not guarantee any demographics as far as age, gender or ethnicity as we constantly have members joining everyday. Events and Adventures is not even attempting to resolve the issue. The sales lady that explained the group did not explain anything regarding being locked into the group with no way out but buying yourself out. This is such a scam. Im completely dissatisfied with the entire experience. I have found hundreds of people complaining about the same thing and somehow these guys are still in business. What an awful way to run a business.
