Could not get a quote, agent said to get quotes from other providers, then he would tell us how much better Solgen could do. Asked 3 times for quote, response was always need other quotes and he would need to explain Solgen's quote to show how much better it was. Only company to do this, all others gave quote and provided a way to ask questions. Felt like i was dealing with a used car salesman. No hesitation on answering questions from the other companies I reequested quotes from.

The project was misrepresented. Slick salesmen insisted the federal government would send a wad of money after taxes to be applied to the loan. This was incorrect.

Worst company and customer service I have ever dealt with in my life! They make a lot of promises about timelines and due dates, but once the paperwork is signed they never follow through. My project was a roof and solar panel combination and they lied to me and told me that I would be able to deduct the energy credit on the entire project because it was a joint project (which I later did my research on and found out that there are very few types of roofs that could be included in the energy credit and mine wasn't one of them). Then once the roof was done in August of 2021 I never received a response until the end of May 2022 about the solar panel installation. I called several times a month and left v-mails on multiple phone numbers. And when they did finally call me back there were all kinds of excuses, but as I told them, a simple phone call returned would have gone a long way with customers satisfaction. And during all this time I was being charged every month by both the credit union they go through as well as being charged by my electric company! Solgen did eventually refund me most of my money, but it took months! I have since talked to their "customer service" a couple of times trying to get the rest of my money but have never heard back from them so am guessing that I will never be fully refunded for everything extra I paid out of pocket. I just hope that I never have any problems with the actual solar panels because I wouldn't expect any better service out that division of the company since I expect their lack of customer service is company wide! I would suggest to anyone looking for solar panels to do their research and do not go with a door-to-door salesman because they go through everything so fast and you do not have time to read the "fine print" or study up on what they are telling you. I ended up paying more for my roof than I was told verbally to get my solar panel payment down to be equal to my electric bill for the duration of my loan.

Nice rep and impressive visual pitch for their product. We went through the drone assessment of our roof and (what we were told) was PREAPPROVAL for a loan to finance the project. They recommended this because the county we live in takes a long time to approve permits, etc. so the preapproval would help us get our project underway faster. Their plan included and solar panels be placed on our entire roof and carport in order to get the amount of energy we hoped to achieve. It also was determined that we needed a new roof, which seems fair because our roof was about 20 yrs old. The cost for the project by the time they included the cost of the roof was way over our budget and the original estimate from the rep so we told them we were going to get other bids. While getting other bids, we received a letter from the credit union Solgen uses for financing saying "Congratulations on your new loan", etc. We thought this was odd since we had only gone through preapproval. The other bids were shockingly less than Solgen, used the solar panels we researched to be higher quality, and didn't require as many solar panels to be placed to achieve the same amount of energy. We notified Solgen we would not be going forward with their company for our project and proceeded to look for loans through our credit union to finance the project. It was through this process that we discovered that Solgen had indeed processed a loan on our behalf, had a lien on our home for $70,000 ($30,000 less than the final bid). We are now unable to apply for another loan until this mess is cleared up, risking higher interest rates by the time we can actually apply again, and pushing our project out into the winter when we cannot even go forward with an installation. Trying to reach out to Solgen to get an answer about how this even happened was difficult and we have messages confirming that we clearly communicated we would not be using their company. Solgen has poor f/u and did not show much remorse.

This Company is a Joke!! Buyers Beware of these Liars!! Plus it's against the law for them to open up a credit account at ******************* without your signature on a credit application. Do Not listen to their Lies about the supposedly tax credit that you are supposed to receive for going Solar. They are LIARS and SCAMMERS AND I WARN YOU TO NEVER DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!! Contact the Attorney General of Washington State *************************** office with your complaints and hopefully they can SHUT THIS COMPANY DOWN!!

We had two conversations. The first was a zoom meeting then a follow up the same day. In both conversations I asked the same question at least 4 times. "can I take advantage of the federal tax credit if I don't have a tax liability." The answer was the same by three Solgen representatives. These Solgen representatives said that "Yes, the feds will send you a check". I was pretty sure that this was not true but the Solgen reps were pretty adamant about it. We signed the contracts, then I research federal tax credits. I spent $50 to get an accountant's opinion. I did some additional researched. Not only can tax credits not be used in excess of a tax liability, but there are multiple warnings that solar companies are scamming people saying that you can use tax credits without a tax liability to get people to sign the contract. If we had accepted the contract, we would be paying more money for our electricity then we do now. Be careful with Solgen you cant base your decision to buy solar panels on what they say.

Originally signed up for solar back in May or June. Had so much contact with the company and felt really taken care of and felt like this was a great company to work with. TJ was our consultant. They did an install on July 19th and the dudes installing the panels were amazing. After set up I asked the next step from the install guys and was told someone in the office would get a hold of me. Its now over a month later and its not been hooked up. Ive gotten zero communication from them. Ive called weekly/sometimes twice a week to get a hold of someone who can give me answers. Ive emailed, left voicemails, even talked to five different people who say thats weird, everything looks like its ready to be connected to your utilities, well pass this along and email you more by info. They never email or call me back with more info. No one can tell me why they havent hooked it up yet. Ive called my utility company and they say the hold up is with Solgen. Im supposed to be paying back a massive loan on solar that I cant even use. I feel scammed and taken advantage of by this company and do not recommend using them to take advantage of solar power for your home. As if august 21st nothing is hooked up and no one from the company as filled me in on why or what the next step is. Im ready to rip these things off my roof myself. This company has not provided any services promised, and I feel has violated their terms of contract.
