  I would not recommend ordering DVDs from ThriftBooks currently. All products are shipped in polyethylene film mailers, with no additional padding, packaging, or protection of any form, and a DVD I ordered arrived extremely damaged.Reaching out to customer service on a Sunday evening, lead to wrestling with an auto-responder for twenty minutes, as it addressed everything BUT the packaging concerns. It eventually told me they do not do cardboard boxes because they are not 100% recyclable compared to polyethylene, which I could recycle with my grocery ******* state has banned plastic grocery bags and polyethylene bags are not part of curbside recycling.I would rather have waited until Monday to receive a helpful response.

  Purchased a book from Thrift Books through Abebooks. The seller sent me the wrong book however I had to pay the shipping to return it for a refund. It was a heavy oversized hardcover, so it was expensive to ship back. Poor transaction and very poor customer service from this company. Would not recommend at all.

  I worked here for almost 3 yrs. This place does not care about their employees. Management has changed several times. New management is the reason I couldnt stand it anymore. Didnt even put in a two week notice.Forced mandatory over time every other week. A certain manager talking down to all of the workers and genuinely a miserable person to be around. Like a drill sergeant. The ******* were dreadful and a few ppl have thrown up or passed out from the heat due to no AC in the building.Ive felt unsafe there as a woman due to some of the people they chose to hire.The reason for all the bad reviews below is because they want us to accept every book regardless of how it looks. We would get into trouble if we didnt receive enough but the supply we were give was mostly trash. My hands would be covered in dirt when receiving. 75 percent of the books are not worth buying. Save your money and buy somewhere else.

  Terrible cancellation policy. Won't let you cancel once an item has shipped. To file a return request in the first place was difficult to figure out, not at all a user friendly interface. Been a loyal customer for years. Very disappointing.

  Ordered several books. Over 100 dollars worth. Listed very good condition and listed as hard covers. Not hard covers and had some issues and stickers were placed of theirs (company name) that cant take off without ripping the picture of the book cover. Took too long to get anyone to help so I could not get refund their policy says. Guess I will see this as a charity donation to their company because clearly they need it more than the rest of us. Also, was promised a free book and when I went to check out it was taken away and was not expired. The company wont care to much about their customers and reviews like these but for what its worth

  I pay nearly $100. for a used book that I wanted. The book was said to be in good condition. When I received the book. It had a page torn out, and the book has some kind of foul liquid stain on many of the pages, and the book was old, used and dirty. The book in my opinion was not in good condition, bur bad condition. It was filthy and should not be offered for sale. I send a number of request for to Thriftbooks to return the book for a total refund. They request pictures of the book and I sent picttures of the book, and it has been weeks now and I have not heard **** from ******************************* business.

  I have ordered 3 books from Thrift Books, all hardcovers. When the books arrived, they were all paperbacks. I think they just want to clear out their slow-moving inventory without regards to the customer. Be careful ordering from this seller!

  Disappointed that the package and book arrived damaged; the dust jacket was stuck on the package's glue. **************** representative was short and not friendly/did not make my experience personal (very copy + paste).

  This business accepted payment for a pre-order of a book that was to ship by the end of May 2024. That date passed and I did not get any notification about failure to ship. I had to call to inquire about my order and was told it would ship at the end of July. I had doubts so called again today and was told that it was delayed another two months until the end of September now. This business appears to fraudulently accept payments and hold onto funds without delivering the product by the agreed upon date. I never would have purchased a book in April with a delay of over five months. This was my first and last time ever interacting with Thriftbooks. I would recommend others to be cautious with this retailer.
