    My first order came with a small issue where I accidentally ordered an abridged version of a book when I meant to buy the full version. I reached out to customer support and by the next morning received a response saying they would be sending a full refund for the mistake. Very happy with the outcome, but make sure to double check which version of the book youre buying since it seems like abridged versions may be grouped with full versions of the same book. All the other books I ordered came exactly as advertised.

    They list for sale lots of good books and DVDs. But they say on each page that if you buy 3 items for over $5 you can get one item at less than $5 for free. When you go to check out they give you no credit for the less than $5 items. There is no way to talk to them. On the telephone you get a machine speaking to you that will not help you in any way until you have a purchase order number, meaning YOU WOULD HAVE TO PAY THEM FIRST. Then they want you to pay for the items in order to get an order number before they might even answer an email. My suspicions are more than verified by the number of recent complaints, and what is in the complaints. I plan to do no more business with them other than emptying out my cart at their web site. I was placing a large order and I guess all of their customers who place larger orders face these same problems. As I recall, I did not give them any information other than my emails. This BBB web site has been very helpful for me. THANKS.

    I received some books I ordered. They were in a series that I was trying to collect. Five of books were normal size. One however was literally half the size of the others. I contacted support to try to get a return because nowhere on the site did it say this book was going to be smaller than and the others. I was told no returns for books that are not desirable. So instead of being able to have all of my books match, which is why I had waited to get these books now I have to go buy another one and waste my money. I will not be ordering from them again

    Had a pending charge from Thrift Books Global on my card and have not ordered from them since 2018 and had not even accessed my account since 2020. Tried to call customer service, the automated system is the worst and most definitely designed to keep customers from easily being able to talk to someone. Talked to ***** who very quickly and shortly told me there was nothing they could do without an order number. And then that was it, nothing else, except a sarcastic chuckle.

    I received a different book than I ordered. While they had the same title, it was an entirely different printing, binding, and color than what was pictured on the ThriftBooks website. After contacting customer service about the discrepancy, I was advised that they use stock photos and that, although they sent a book different from what was ordered, I was not eligible for a return or refund. If you are planning to order a specific book and have any concerns about the appearance, condition, version, or printing date, do not order from ThriftBooks. You may not receive what you ordered at all and they find this perfectly acceptable; I do not.

    Total Rip off. Ordered a six volume set via Amazon for a Christmas present. Received only one volume. I complained and they basically said no refunds, tough. Yell at Amazon. Certainly won't go down this road again.

    I am disappointed with the product received from Thrift books as the information on the website stated the book would be autographed and numbered and in fact it was not. The representative was a bit cavalier regarding my issue. They have promised a full refund after the book is returned. This was a gift and finding out at this late date that the book is not as advertised is a concern.

    I was looking for a specific, difficult to find book that ThriftBooks showed they had. I ordered it as a Christmas gift. I received a book about 2 weeks before Christmas that was not the book I ordered. I was advised by ThriftBooks **************** that they did not have the book available for order, so they just sent another book to me. Wow. I guess they ********* out whatever and hope you don't ask for a refund when what you did not order arrives. They advised me to just keep the book I never ordered rather than return it and provide me with what I paid for. From reading other reviews seems like I am not the only one paying for an item and receiving something completely different.

    I ordered 2 books for a gift. One I was charged $8 for and the other $12.98. The first one had a sale sticker on it for $2,99, the other was a discontinued book from a library, complete with the library name on it. Will never order from them again and will take it up with my credit card company.

    Hiring process was tragic, should have been an easy process if the team was all on the same page, training was great, the job itself is super easy, but the pay is weak for all the work you put in daily and repetitive. Depending on the job, you work remotely and you rarely get any contact unless you happen to join a meeting, then you are still just a name on a screen. Agents are not on the same page, so you can write in for one thing and get 4 different replies, non personal and sometimes not anything you reached out for. Very few customer service people are kind and informed, just robotic for their metrics, this weighs on the agents that are customer centric. Management allows customer abuse of power, so you cannot defend yourself against angry customers, you have to take it or you are released from your position, even though there is a policy you are following. All in all, the job itself was great, management and how they don't interact and then over achieve for the customer rather than the employee is a problem. Support your staff, not a customer with a bad attitude that you have already assisted several times and now they just want freebies. I guess if they were making $13.50 an hour, they wouldn't be so quick to jump the gun on the people that are. Get your staff on track and teach them how to treat your employees, turnover wouldn't exist as high as it stays there, includes the warehouses as well.
