I am pursuing a refund of my initial service overcharge and cancellation of future services for the following reasons:1. Deceitful sales tactics: the salesman, *****, came to my door claiming my neighbors had hired him and that he and his friend had just started EcoShield as a small business. He promised more thorough service than my old company which both turned out to be false.2. The $400 initial treatment lasted 10 minutes. I informed ***** who had previously told me the initial treatment would be one hour long. He said the technician must have been running behind for the day. I did not receive the service promised, and was overcharged based on the amount that was on my contract. I paid $120 plus tax when my contract says $110 plus tax. ***** said I would be refunded or credited. This never happened, so EcoShield committed a breach of contract.3. The Seattle call center never answers their phone, but I finally received a call back from someone so that I could report an increase in interior ants after the second service. I asked if they should treat my interior during the third service, and they told me they would leave bait traps. I cannot believe I am paying a pest control company to give me bait traps. They never left them. I had to contact them again to request the bait traps which they left several days later.4. Before I placed the traps and after the third service, my bathroom and laundry room became overrun with ants. More than I have ever seen with my old company. The contract states that pests should steadily decrease with each service; the opposite has happened.5. Because of these reasons, I demand that I am refunded what I am owed and that my contract, which has already been breached by the company, is canceled without penalty or cancellation fee.Business Response

Hi *****,
I'm sorry you feel that you were lied to when ***** came to your home. Obviously I can look into that, but we haven't heard any complaints like this all summer about *****, who is a long tenured person here. As far as the payment of $120 plus tax, I've attached the original agreement you signed on June 3rd. It was for 120 plus tax for your initial service. We completed that service on June 22nd and then you signed a new contract for $110 plus tax on June 28th. After which we dropped the price for the next service. I've attached both contracts here for you to see. As far as ant baits go, they are one of the absolute best ways to get rid of ants like OHA's and others. They ants bring the bait back to the nest and allows it to knock the nest out. If you saw a big uptick after placing the bait, that is actually AWESOME as the ants are coming in and taking the bait so to speak. Again, the part where you are saying that ***** was saying different things I will look into - but anything that you laid out that is provable one way or the other, I believe we just addressed right here. Again, I apologize that you have a bad taste in your mouth, we strive to be the best of the best here at EcoShield and wish we could have kept your business.

I am rejecting this response because: firstly, the original "agreement" I signed was given to me under false pretenses. The technician who spent 10 mins on our initial service showed me an Ipad and said I had to sign so he could start the service. He never showed me the payment amount, but instead scrolled to the bottom. As you can see, no credit card information was given that day either. When I previously spoke to ***** about what I was paying for my service with *******, he gave me his phone number and said to text him my old contract. I did, and he texted "that works for me." So I was not aware that my signature was agreeing to anything else. ******* was ***** since he texted me that it was a "fluke in the system" and promised me a refund. Do you not stand by what your employees tell clients? Secondly, as I stated in the original complaint, I had not yet placed the bait when I saw the large uptick in ants, so it was NOT "awesome." If bait is one of the "best ways to get rid of ants" then why would I hire you instead of purchasing them for a much lower price myself? I purchased Ant Block and used $3 worth which got rid of the problem you couldn't for $120. I would think a reputable company would be embarrassed by the interactions I had with your staff and the service I received. Customer satisfaction is apparently not your priority, and I will ensure my friends and neighbors are informed of this fact if you do not resolve this issue to my satisfaction.
Sincerely,

Hi *****,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We want to sincerely apologize for the solutions that were provided to you after bringing up the unsatisfactory visits. Were you still having pest activity after the visits, or was it more the lack of time spent being made by the sales rep at the time of signup? On the 8/25/22, our customer service rep offered another free follow up visit, but it was denied. We did waive the $280 for canceling the agreement prematurely.

A salesman for Ecoshield Seattle named ***** stopped by my house in May 30. He said he was in the neighborhood on that day only and could offer a special deal on Ecoshield services. I used a service similar to Ecoshield in the past for spiders. I later cancelled because they did not fulfill their promises. This time I told ***** I was not interested in the Ecoshield service and wished him a good day.He stood his ground and said Ecoshield service was different because they eliminated moles and voles too. He said those services would be bundled in for the same price. I purchased the service based on that commitment.Because of the mole/vole offering, I agreed to the service. He had me initial a contract with six terms. I did not see mole and vole service anywhere in the service description, so I asked him about that. He pointed out the term ******** Services" includes "maintain the protective barriers around your home" and that includes mole and vole eradication. (Ref: ecoshield-form-2978476.pdf)After two months of the service, my mole and vole problem is just as bad as before. The spiders are still around too. I've emailed on two occasions. It usually takes me two to three emails each time to get a response.Last week I sent an email terminating my contract. Today I received a call from ***** in ******* on Negros Island in ***************. She said that mole and vole service is not part of the Ecoshield contract I signed. She said I was locked into a two year contract and could not get out without paying a penalty. I said that was not acceptable because the service was misrepresented when sold to me. The connection was spotty and we got cut off twice. I never heard back.I don't wish to use the Ecoshield service and I don't wish to pay a penalty. This can be resolved by Ecoshield letting me out of the contract and not visiting my home again without advance permission from me. If this is resolved promptly I won't ask for a refund on money I already paid.Business Response
