This company canvassed my neighborhood claiming to be working for my neighbor. They promised pest control and did not deliver. But have harassed me via phone calls from a call center continuously. Threatening me with collection. The first time they came to our home their chemicals made my dog sick/vomiting within an hour after they left. They claim their products are natural and pet friendly. My and, spider and mosquito problems got worse in a week after they came. One of the employees also was physicked with a bad cough and did not come into our home but rather stayed on our porch talking and coughing on my husband stating he did not have Covid. Within a few weeks we had bug problems worse than ever. They told us that would happen. All calls and messages I left for them go to a call center in what sounds like ***** and no one calls back for resolution. The second visit I called to cancel days in advance as we were quarantined with *****. I called and left voice messages and talked to people at the 888#. They sent someone to our house anyway and the person insisted on spraying just the outside. He left an old trap outside from the first service and didnt bother to remove it, we also experienced ant problems so badly that we had to buy product and handle it ourselves. They tried to charge me for a full service and complained when I called my credit card company and stopped payment. This company is a scammer and when i called to resolve the situation the people read from a script that only involves collecting money. They offer little to no service and just charge your card. After the second visit it took a month for anyone to call me to address what I thot was my complaint but mo they just wanted money. I e asked for a manager to call me on several occasions and finally someone called me and left emailI missed the call but when I called back all I get is the call center. The local mum er they gave me transfers to the call center. This company preys on people!!Business Response

EcoSheild Representative ************************* in Seattle branch came to our house June 2022 sold us the pest control service. At that time he claimed that EcoShield was such a wonderful company that offers huge range of pest control service all included with no additional or hidden fees. He even mentioned that we can freely terminate our services whenever we are not satisfied and we won't be charge any fees AT ALL. This was such a lie. The company does not provide any valid pest control services. All they did was placing several insect trap around the house and mop off the spider webs. One ant box was spilled due to incorrectly placed by the representative and ruined my wooden floor. The insect traps costs maybe five dollars each and they place in total of less than ten in my house. No pesticide was used. I was so shocked that their rep come and go in 10 minutes for the visit. And each visit they charge around two hundred dollars. The pest issue never got fixed and now there are more and more issues. The company use this door to door selling technique to lure you in and lock you with year round contract without providing a normal service. The phone line never connects and they only replied you with their `amazing` pest control packages with additional fees whenever you need them. I require my policies to be terminated and settle all of the issues. And I request the sales representative never showed up again. STOP LYING.Business Response

A representative from EcoShield named ******* knocked on my door and made a number of promises and guarantees he either had no intention of fulfilling or had no idea his company was unable to fulfill. As a result there were services, such as: 1) even though I told him the back side of my home is high because it is built on a hill he guaranteed they had ladders tall enough to allow them to treat the ***** all the way around ***********) They would be able to to test both the attic in my home and the crawl space under my home, which they dont. When the came out they stated the best they could do was put dow glue traps. 3) He said they could spray for spiders; again, they dont. They put a glue trap in the middle of a stair leading from my garage into my home. 4) The exterminators started bad mouthing the sales representatives when I told them what the services were promised . He said: This happens all the time. Those guys will say anything to get a sale. We cant reach your waves, we dont spray. 5) Exterminators are not cooperative. When I called back to say I was seeing way more spiders inside my home after their first treatment. I was told the exterminator will gladly treat the interior. When he arrived he was argumentative and told me we dont treat inside. The next treatment was no better. Seeing far more spiders than I ever had in the entire 22 years I have been in this home. 6) When they treat the inside theyll say because we did the inside were not doing the outside this time and vice-versa. 7) When I called and said I just want to cancel because this isnt working. I had far better results just walking around my home and spraying around the exterior and the crawl space monthly than I got from their service, I was mildly threatened with taking me to collections because I was obligated by contract to pay $220 for one more service. I have already paid over $400 and have had terrible service, results and they didnt fulfill their promises.Customer Answer

Yes, we closed our account cause you just book another appointment while we were still here trying to discuss on solutions. Just had this company spray for spiders and bugs and ive still got spiders and bugs. In fact its gotten worse after every application ecoshield does. Last spray was oct 12 the pictures attached are from oct 17.Business Response

We know how frustrating it is to see activity persist after receiving a treatment, but this is the most important part of the service. We want to know if activity eventually decreased, stayed consistent, or even moved to different areas. Knowing these details allows our technicians to better understand the pests patterns and behaviors and know how they should proceed. We cannot retreat the same areas within 2 weeks of each other due to product usage labels but if you still have lively pest activity around your home, we'd be happy to schedule a free touch up visit. I was solicited by an EcoShield representative one afternoon at my home. He pointed out a wasp nest and some other signs of pest activity, and offered to have someone come out that same day to clean up the items we discussed. There was a recurring charge/membership involved, and I accepted the terms. Later that day, someone came out to complete the job I'd agreed to and paid for. The next day, it was as if literally nothing had been done. The wasp nest was rapidly being rebuilt, from the leftover part of the shell that wasn't cleaned up. I was assured they'd spray something to prevent recurrence, but it clearly didn't work. The spiderwebs I pointed out were still there, in easy to see and accessible places. There was no change at all to any of the other bug related activity, and I ended up taking care of the wasp nest, the snails in the front garden bed, and the spiderwebs myself. Since there was absolutely no effectiveness to the job and I ended up doing it all myself, I called EcoShield to cancel the service. I spent the better part of an entire day on the phone, being bounced around, told I couldn't cancel, then transferred elsewhere and told that I could, only to get another call later to say I couldn't. I insisted, eventually having to say more than TEN times in one phone call that I wished to cancel and I was not willing to be sold to any further. I also asked that the additional $150 charge be waived - so that my investment in a job not done well or really at all would only be what I paid on the day of the visit. I was told this was being escalated to management, however, I'm receiving a harassing amount of calls, texts, and emails - and despite my horrible experience they are now threatening to send this to collections.Business Response

I am rejecting this response. The earliest "touch up" service offered was nearly two weeks out - and with wasp activity actually increased immediately post visit (from the nest not fully dealt with) in a high traffic area, we didn't have the option of waiting so long for service. I said as much in one of the calls. At that point, based on having been given conflicting answers and being bounced around on the phone, I opted to cancel because of the poor customer service during those calls. I've paid the balance, but I will continue to let people know that I do NOT recommend EcoShield. The way they've handled this really sets them apart as doing terrible business.

We have tried repeatedly to cancel our service. They are super aggressive, saying that they can't cancel our service unless we tell them why. When we tell them their service wasn't working, they insist they need to come do another service to fix the problem. When we tell them we don't like their extremely pushy tactics, they ignore that. They are calling me daily and leaving messages that they can't shut off our service unless I talk to them some more. I want a restraining order but I'm hoping I don't actually have to go there? In June of 2022, I received a visit from a pest control company offering services in the area. EcoShield Pest Solutions offered a discount, as they were in the area and we could capitalize on this. I agreed to a 12 month contract, where they would visit at varying intervals to help deal with (specifically) small black ants that were infesting my yard and my home. The first visit on about 6/11 went without issues, a spray was used in the yard, and I was given a couple of bait traps for inside the house. However, I noticed no change in the number or behavior of these ants in the yard, nor inside the homeThe second visit, on 7/12, I mentioned to the technician that the products did not seem to work, in fact, it looked like they were feeding the ants. The technician used different products, including a granular product. More bait traps were provided for inside the homeAgain, there is no change in the number or behavior of ants. These visits by EcoShield cost $197.44I contacted the company and told them that the products are not working, and that I would like to cancel the contract with no penalty. The representative I talked to said that she would take care of it (I think - she was ***, and she seemed to understand my request)I received an email on 8/12/2022 stating that I had an outstanding account of $243.76. I called the company back, and again stated that their products do not work, and I refuse to pay for something defective. Again the *** representative said that this would be presented to the local branch manager and I would get confirmation. That part never happenedToday, I get a text and an email for the outstanding amount. The representative I talked to would not send me to a supervisor, stating that the information he was providing would be the same as what he had told *** am frustrated, all I want is for them to go away. I'm sorry to hear of your frustration. Looking at the notes it looks like you have oderous house ants. These are hard ants to kill and when using baits and other non repellents around the treated area, we sincerely hope that there is an uptick in activity. If not the bait isn't take back to the colony. There are multiple queens in this colony. If you kill it off to fast or repell it, then the colony multiplies. That's why we always ask people not to use raid, bleach etc. With OHA's it takes time. We cannot get rid of them in a month. Unfortunately you canceled before we had a chance to finish our treatments. I apologize that we can't make that happen faster. It comes down to the biology and habits of the ant.

I am rejecting this response because:There are several issues still unaddressed with their response:
1) There is no mention of the remaining account they claim I owe. The response should clearly state what their stance is. Will they, or will they not, cancel the outstanding amount of $243.76?
2) This is not the first pest control company I have used. All of the others used had significant decrease in the number of ants present inside and outside the house after the initial treatment. It is well understood that the lifecycle of an ant is around 30 days from egg to hatchling, and the reason for subsequent follow up visits. But if I were to compare the results between EcoShield and all the other companies, their products work in reverse; I saw an uptick in the number of ants
EcoShield's response avoids answering the questions at hand, it appears they are trying to dodge answering and having me pay the outstanding amount. Their products do not work (at least here at my house), and I do not feel I should pay for something which is inferior to other companies which I have had first hand experience. I would not pay for a car that I knew it did not run - I don't want to pay for a pest control service that does nothing to combat the issue

As you can see, you signed next to the area where it says that if you cancel before the 12 months is up, we charge the discount we gave you up front at your initial service. This is the Service Contract Review (attached) that was gone over with you at the time of your service with our technician. I can see your signature right next to where it says that if you cancel, we will charge for the discount we gave you for the initial service. We would have loved to try to make things right, however, when we did let you know (BEFORE you cancelled) again that you would be charged for the difference, you said that's fine because you would just dispute it on a recorded line. You did agree to this as you can see by your own signature. You also were informed of the fee before cancelling. Also ants take time. You only allowed us to service your home for a month and then cancelled because you said it didn't work. We try to have great customer service and to take care of our customers. After two visits, where on the second visit I commented that the issue had gotten worse, and yet different products seem to have no effect as compared to the first, it appears that your products are ineffective. I am not going to support a company with inferior productsWith respect to the document I signed. How on earth would I know that there was no escape clause when this situation arose? Was that pointed out? Was the issue of early termination clearly stated? Maybe, maybe not. I find it frustrating that you insist on holding me to a contract where you are at fault, and over such a paltry amount.On a different note, your staff were good, they announced their presence, were approachable, and did exactly what they were supposed to do. I asked the technician during second service to treat my crawlspace vent issue and he requested a followup service for inspection. After the inspection service on 7/12 I was quoted over $2000 for the crawlspace patch and sealing, which is not I was promised for.Whether or not the business has tried to resolve the problem: NO. I called EcoShield company customer service for 10+ times. After many calls the customer agent requested refund for me but got denied by their supervisor. During my 10+ calls many times I was promised a callback by their supervisor but I only received one callback which ends up in my voicemail. Hi there,
I'm sorry for the confusion. I'm thinking that somewhere there was a messup on how we communicated something or how something was heard. We absolutely do patch up vents etc, but it is not a part of a monthly or quarterly service. It's a separate service we offer. Our people do tell our customers to be that we do that service, however, we do not tell people that it is included in the regular service. I believe something was misheard here. It is just to expensive of a service to add in to a monthly or quarterly service. It's not something we can do due to the cost of having our exclusion team come out for hours to get it done. I apologize if something was heard wrong.
