      They claim to be US based company but they just allow you to be scammed and because they have your money theyll always side with frivolous claims by the host. Im never using anything related to Expedia group of companies

      Book with Confidence? Yeah, not so much. We booked our vacation in JANUARY. The host just cancelled on us with 2.5 weeks until our vacation. VRBO refuses to make it right with the one rental property that is available on the island still. They said they'll cover a small portion (including the money WE already paid for our other rental). My husband has called every single day this week, multiple times and still no resolution. Be very careful if you decide to book with VRBO.

      I wish I could leave zero stars. Arrived at a property that was nothing like the photos. Dirty, unsafe, and smelling of dampness and mildew. Left immediately and called VRBO the first night and bc they weren't able to make contact with the homeowner, they said there is nothing that can be done. They take your money and then refuse to help when you need it. They claim to just be a middleman when a problem arises. Owners can just not answer phone calls and emails and keep your money. Never ever ever ever use this platform.

      I was charged *****% service fee- well over the 5-10% I was told by an agent. When I called, the supervisor said it was only 12% because it included the TAXES! It says on their website they do not use taxes when calculated service fees. I think she lied just to get me off the phone! STAY AWAY from this agency.

      Extremely Disappointed - We booked a stay through VRBO for June *****, 2025, at **************************************************************************. Leading up to our trip, the host was communicative until 6 minutes before our arrival, when he suddenly mentioned that work was being done on the porch. Upon arrival, we were shocked. The exterior of the home looked nothing like the listing; it looked like a haunted house. The paint on the facade of the house was scraped entirely and the house numbers weren't visible, and the porch had uneven wood that posed a clear fall hazard. It was unusable as a gathering place for my family. Inside, the issues continued. The front door had a large gap - where you could visually see the outside light and was a serious security concern. A toilet clogged after a single use. We immediately contacted the host to express our dissatisfaction and request a refund. He said he couldn't send anyone to fix the toilet until the next day and declined to refund us a full refund. My family did not stay in the home at all. We then reached out to VRBO for help, they provided little throughout this ordeal. We traveled all the way from ******** to ********, **,, only to have our vacation disrupted by a misleading listing information, and lack of accountability from both the host and VRBO. I have spoken to several of VRBO telephone **** and received in writing that this type of experience is not what they want for there customers, yet they have done nothing to encourage the host to refund the full amount or better yet, they eat the cost of the balance of the refund. I wish I could give negative stars for this company. This is my first and last time, I will reserve a property through this company. Reservation ID #******** Note: I have photos of the property that will confirm and justify my claim. I will post them on social media platforms if there is not a prompt response.

      I give zero stars. Misrepresented property, we had to leave after 2 nights as nothing worked and smelled horrible of mold. Owner said he'd refund us but then ghosted us. i filed a very comprehensive claim with vrbo with snapshots of all conversations with owner (we were always respectful), list of everything that didn't work, pics and videos plus a summary of costs and reimbursement expectations. Trying for almost 7 months to get a response. Today they said owner doesn't want to pay...can't do anything but give you a $200 credit. I paid $177 in vrbo fee. This isn't right. i'm going to see if can file complaint via credit card, if not I am going to go to small claims court as this is just wrong, it's not about the money any more it's principal. Horrible way to treat repeat customers or even first time customers. DO NOT RENT DO NOT ***************************** Property # ******vb Property manager **** *********

      Vrbo let a host cancel my $2,000+ reservation, delayed my refund for over 15 days, and offered only $120 as an apology. When I called on July 6th, customer service showed no urgency, no empathy just a passive attitude like losing me as a customer didnt matter. That kind of treatment makes it clear Vrbo doesnt value loyalty. I wont be booking with them again.

      I rented a house in **************, ** for my family vacation this year, and it was complete disaster. the advertisement for the home was misleading and in some cases a total lie.The ad boasted a 3 minute walk to the beach. It could have been but we were not given access to the gate. I emailed the host many times and he sent the same locked access every time. It was a 3-min. drive to the beach. I emailed before I booked because I read a bad review from 2024, and inquired to see if the problems listed had been fixed. I was assured they had, but when we arrived all the the problems listed in the 2024 review were still problems.

      I am writing this review as a HOST. The platform is painstakingly outdated and cumbersome. The 3rd party integrations FAIL, leaving you with erroneous double bookings across other platforms. I have been trying to cancel a booking for nearly 24 hours, but can't because of a problem on their end. STAY AWAY from renting or hosting on here. Expedia has run this platform into the ground.

      We were told by host we werent supposed to arrive til next day so room wasnt ready. I made bed while she checked rest of room. There was an alarm going off, I thought it was due to door being opened but it was in fact a fire alarm in need of a battery on an 8 foot ceiling. She just said after we made found it that there was nothing that could be done, we arrived at 7pm & finally she misplaced the key to the front door, after looking for a while, she just called it a day & left. We told her we couldnt stay there under those circumstances, she didnt reply. The key was need to lock the door from the inside as well as outside so we wouldnt have felt safe! We were left to find a hotel room for our stay & when I called Vrbo & sent them video of the obnoxious sound & let them know about the key, they told me it would be a valid refund but I have not heard or had my calls returned. This is from 6/13/2025! I would like my refund!
