We live in ************, ** and went to *********, ** on vacation for eight days. When we got to the house that we rented in *********, ** there was already a family staying there for the entire time that we had booked it for. So, I try to message the host no response, call the host no one answers and the voicemail is full. We had to go sit in a parking lot and contact Vrbo to advise. We set on hold for over an hour before a representative came on the line. After the call was answered it still took over an hour to just get a hotel reservation for ONE night, which was not the resolution to our issue. The representative said someone from the Resolution Team would be contacting us, they didn't. So the next day we called back and were on the phone for over four hours total, including being hung up on twice still trying to get another house to stay. I spoke to 7 different people each time having to tell the issue to over again We still don't have total resolution because they only placed us in yet another hotel, this time for two days even though we still had five more days of vacation left after these two days. Check-out time came from the second hotel and we still don't have a house to stay in. Now we are parked again trying to get assistance and the only way you can get in contact with them is by email and it takes forever for them to respond. When we finally have been contacted by the Resolution Team for the third time they tell me that can lodge us for another night or I can find accommodations and they'll reimburse me but at this point i don't trust that they're competent enough or trust them enough to do what they say. Mind you we have bought perishable groceries to take to the house we were supposed to be staying in so we wouldn't have to eat out everyday.

I reserved a room for $159 per night, for a seven day stay. Then, after reserving the room, I see where the **** comes to $1619.99 plus $175 vrbo fee. This was NOT advertised at all. Furthermore, we have NO housekeeping while we are here and we are paying a FEE for them to clean the room after we check out!!! NONE of this was advertised and certainly NOT explained BEFORE I agreed to stay at this crappy hotel!!!! I am here for business and I will lose my job because we are only allowed to rent a room in the $150 per night range. I thought I was adhering to company policy and VRBO has ripped me off. I WILL lose my job!!! Furthermore, I used the website *************************** and somehow, VRBO is getting their fees when I never used anyone BUT ***************************!!!!!!! This is a RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO HOUSEKEEPING WHILE STAYING HERE AND WE ARE PAYING A FEE FOR THEM TO CLEAN THE ROOM AFTER WE LEAVE!!!!!!!! DOES THIS MAKE ANY SENSE?!?!?!? IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE A QUARTER OF A STAR I WOULD!!!!!!!!!

got kicked out of a pet friendly vrbo for having pets. the host wasn't hospitable . the location had cockroaches, the toilet and broke and the house had a strong odor. The host only provided 2 tide pods for laundry, 2 dishwasher pods, two cotton swabs, two thrash bags for a home with a week reservation. Two people could easily go through those items in a week. Our family was kicked out with no help from vrbo customer support to help find another sleeping arrangement. The host canceled the reservation after the 3rd day of a 6 nights reservation. this was during peak vacation week, so it was hard to find a replacement for more than 1 night at a time... VRBO you are the worst!!!! stick to Airbnb, I have never had any issues with airbnb. if i could give zero stars I would .

VRBO SCAM Beware! I reserved a property on vrbo and paid a $2700 deposit. I messaged the property manager, Stay Vre, several times and received no response. Upon further investigation, I found that the same property was listed in vrbo under second Id number which showed that it was still available to rent for the week I reserved. A ****** search for Stay Vre, vrbos trusted partner showed that they were out of business. I also contacted the real property manager on the second listing who confirmed that Stay Vre was not authorized to rent the property. Over the course of the next 10 days or so I made contact with 5 different customer support staff and managers as well as ***** in the Trust and Security Team. I explained the duplicate listing, the unauthorized property manager and the fact that my rental was still showing as available and have been getting no help in securing a refund of the money that was stolen from me. I have basically been told I need to work it out with the property manager who is out of business and has no contact information. VRBO customer support staff just dont care! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! They dont validate that properties listed are actually available for rent and dont stand behind their policy to refund your money when you request a cancellation. I am now working with my banks disputes department to recover the money that VRBO stole from me.

We rented a place in *****, ****** and provided a 3 star review on the property. The owners were upset and came back to our review super aggressively. We did not change the review and after months (we even wrote to VRBO), the review did not show up on the property. VRBO is a scam and so are the owners. You should not trust the reviews on their site.

Absolutely terrible. I rented a condo in ******* to take my family to ****** for the first time. I paid for it seven months in advance. When I got to the condo to check in, they had no record of me, the owner of the condo, or the contact person I was given. I reached out to all the contacts I was given and got no response. I reached out to Vrbo customer service and could not get a hold of anyone. I tried for over 3 hours and finally got in touch with a customer service rep. with **********************. The person basically said they couldnt do anything besides trying to contact the owners themselves and that I should keep trying. After being stranded in ******* for several hours, I realized I had to move on and try to find a place to stay for the week since we had already paid for everything else associated with the trip. I ended up checking into a holiday inn for the night around 11 pm. And after trying for another hour to contact Vrbo with no success, decided to book the place for the entire week. I finally did get in touch with somebody the next day who was nice and told me I would get a refund and they would reimburse me for my stay at holiday in as well. I thought, well at least they treat their customers well when these things happen. I was wrong, I was contacted by another person in the company who said the rep. I spoke to promised me too much a and all I would be given was a refund and a small percentage of my other stay. Honestly, the stress of the situation was too much and I will never be booking any stays with this company again. And I would not recommend them to any other person ever!! Save yourself the hassle.

Well I take it I am not alone, do not rent homes through VRBO! They state that there is a rule that the host must disclose that they have camera surveillance and if they do not you can get your money back. Well no such luck! Their customer service is a joke. Never again! Writing it off as a horrible ******* VRBO you are a rip off and do not care about your customers at all!
